Well the old Dell Inspiron 1150 stopped booting and silly me I didn’t have the administration password for the recovery console.

So it is out with the OS and reinstall time.

This is always a pain in the neck but thanks to my wife’s thoughtful give of an external hard drive last year everything is backed up.

So the rest of the night will be moving files and installing drivers, but that’s what a tech guy does.

Cripes go to deposit the rent and eat some lunch and now we have news of a 2 hour conference call between Blagojevich and the Obamaites. Gateway pundit is on it:

This is the same call where Blags famously uses profanity to refer to his good friend, Barack Obama, “F— him. For nothing? F— him.”.

This is getting out of control rather quickly maybe even to the point where the media can’t pretend it isn’t important anymore.

What I’m really waiting for is the start of the conspiracy Reverend Wright card by that I mean when will we see somebody suggest that all of this is just a conspiracy to either disable the first black president or to keep him from taking office.

Don’t think for one moment that the same demagogues that preach black liberation theology won’t do it. It is their bread and butter. They will cash in on this in the same way the 9/11 truthers and the Obama birth certificate stuff people are doing so.

You don’t think people are cashing in? Somebody is buying those books, somebody is buying those tee-shirts and buttons. That means someone is writing them and making them. And don’t forget its guys like these that are a cheap source of attack for someone who wants to make trouble.

I think we’ll see it before my LogMeIn trial period expires.

UPDATE: Nope. I don’t know how the last three words in the first sentence of the 5th paragraph were lost but there are back there now.

Times are hard. Foreclosures are up, The auto makers are looking for a bailout, I’m looking for work and Fitchburg is ticketing Santa, but the New York Yankees are still the New York Yankees:

In the early hours yesterday morning, the Yankees got their man, when they reached agreement with Sabathia on a seven-year, $161-million contract that he can opt out of after three seasons.

Sabathia is the premier prize the Yankees sought to land this offseason, but they still are pursuing pitching, with long-term contract offers to A.J. Burnett and Derek Lowe. The Sabathia contract will not be official until he passes a physical and signs.

I still like our rotation better with a fair amount of young arms , Josh Beckett and my favorite Tim Wakefield the rubber armed ageless knuckle baller.

It will take more than Sabathia for them to beat us next year.

Ace discovers that it all depends on the meaning of “no contact” apparently that doesn’t include a public photo of the president elect and the Gov from last Tuesday.

I guess that explains all the old Clinton hands but it doesn’t explain the title of this post. This does:

If you just want the relevant line start at 4:20 and watch till 4:45.

UPDATE: The Captain sees the Clinton link too.

On Instapundit Glenn quotes a reader Steve Nelson who nails it better than anyone else I can think of:

Notice the problem with Obama’s websites?

Neither he nor his staff is censoring the comments…. but they’ve set the site up to allow others to do so.

Neither he nor his staff asked for any illegal foreign contributions, or for contributions from obviously false donors….. they just disabled the standard controls and credit card checks to allow it to happen.

They didn’t have any ties to whacky characters with extreme ideas…. but the campaign website allowed anyone to set up a “blog” and put out the propaganda.

In each case, Obama and his staff were careful to leave no directly illegal / unethical fingerprints of their own….. but they sure made it easy for “supporters unknown” to do so through their IT systems.

Deniability — it’s built right in.

Looks like he learned the lessons of Chicago well. This isn’t a bug it’s a feature.

Well I’ve finally added a Router/Wireless setup offering and a Printer setup offering on eBay. Between that and the Virus cleanup, the System Tuneup and the System setup I now have a full line of tech services for sale on eBay.

As far as people actually bidding on them. Well as of today to quote the world’s most famous camel spotter so for my total bids have been….nearly one.

That’s not a huge surprise but I still have high hopes.

What you’ve never heard of Camel spotting? Well never let it be said that I skipped a chance to embed a Monty Python video:

Well was able to fix my friend’s printer. Turns out it wasn’t a question of the printer not being set as default, it wasn’t listed period! That’s very odd.

Since the printer was connected to their router I was able to detect it on the network and re-install with very little issue. It was a great chance to test out my remote connecting stuff and it passed with flying colors.

That was very handy, the LogMeIn rescue software might be worth buying just to save me trips to houses of friends and families over and over.

Mike Barnicle is from my home town. He often talks sense and like a regular human being. He also refers to the Moran Square Dinner that has the best breakfast in the area.

I’m watching Morning Joe right now. They have Ariana Huffington on right now however and Barnicle’s intro suggested that she practically invented internet journalism.

Mike I love ya but COME ON! Did you ever hear of Drudge, or Instapundit, or Andrew Sullivan, or Kaus, or The Corner, or Michelle Malkin, or LGF, or Kos, or Eschaton, or Hotair, or Oliver Willis or Tim Blair? And that’s just naming a few!

I mean the Huffington Post is ok, but how solid is a webblog that has to shut off comments to prevent its own readers from embarrassing themselves as antisemites or as just crass when conservatives die. .

Nasty ice storm warning in my area all the way, power might be iffy today.

This is quite inconvenient since the first eBay auction is due to end today, hope I don’t lose connection at that time.

If things get really quiet around here, that is the reason why. Of course if I get a sale then I’ve got to fire up LogMeIn and get going, now THAT would be a bad time to lose power.

Newsbusters and Busyblog have cross posted the story that KHQA is renouncing its Nov 5th story about the pending Obama-Blagojevich meeting later that day claiming that they have no evidence the meeting actually took place.

Unfortunately for them they had a follow up story on the 8th reporting the meeting did occur. They took it down from the web but BusyBlog cached it. This is 2008, they have heard of a web cache haven’t they?

We are way past willing suspension of disbelief here, we are at they think we either don’t give a damn or a just plain stupid or the public is so enamored by the president elect that we won’t care. You can’t get rid of embarrassing photos on the web, you think you can hide this and even Obama supports will buy it? Do they think that Obama support is an actual religion?

And if you do buy it, then I strongly suggest you shut down your e-mail to avoid anything that suggests millions of dollars for you coming from Nigeria.
