Another GOP debate to blog...

I have no idea how this will go but we will soon find out:

My Take, Cain, Santorum and Bachmann helped themselves, Rick Perry was bloodied, Romney stayed steady but not great, Huntsman hurt himself, Paul was Paul, Gingrich was solid.

A lot more substance than other debates, likely due to the tea party business.

9:49 p.m. Silly question about adding in, Gingrich hits on Tzars.

9:44 p.m. Huntsman’s answer to the women translated: “Let them die, not our problem.”, Perry agrees.

9:42 p.m. Santorum hits Paul HARD on 911. Paul is Paul, I’ll say this for him, he’s consistent.

9:39 p.m. Paul: “Difference between military and defense spending.”

9:38 p.m. Cain on energy independence not bad, Gingrich on defense spending.

9:37 p.m. Calls in-state tuition a states rights issue, a bad hit on him.

9:35 p.m. Romney almost gets it on the Latinos question.

9:33 p.m. Huntsman suggests Perry is treasonous for saying we can’t secure the border. Plays the License isn’t an ID card.

9:31 p.m. Bachmann don’t give taxpayer subsidies for breaking the law.

9:30 p.m. Perry defends in-state tuition Santorum hits.

9:28 p.m. Perry says boots on the ground and agents rather than a fence.

9:27 p.m. Illegal immigration question Santorum 1st.

9:22 p.m. That last round was bad for Romney and Perry and good for Bachmann, Paul and Santorum. Stacy Live-blogging too.

9:20 p.m. Bachmann makes an important point about wavers being able to be undone.

9:18 p.m. Ron Paul points out how communities used to take care of their own, important cultural point.

9:16 p.m. Perry says Romney care is the wrong move but the state has the right to do it if it wants.

9:15 p.m. Romney not defending Romney-care attacking Obama-care

9:14 p.m. Suggests “loser pays” laws

9:12 p.m. Santorum throws a roundhouse on big government, Perry tries to defend, I think he took a big hit on this

9:10 p.m. Bachmann talks about political donations and the drug companies. Perry hits back.

9:09 p.m. Little girls don’t get a do over says Michelle Bachmann hitting Perry, hits Obama on the morning after pill.

9:08 p.m. Perry gives a mea-culpa, should have gone to legislature but defends his motives.

9:06 p.m. Paul on executive orders, should never be used to legislate

9:06 p.m. Romney says the “fair tax” would hurt middle tax.

9:05 p.m. “Would any of you be willing to support the fair tax?”

9:03 p.m. Gingrich brings up GE when Wolf hits the oil companies, still not asked the question given.

9:02 p.m. Huntsman says 81624 and talks debt

9:01 p.m. Love the question: “Out of every dollar I make, how much should I be able to keep?” Who will answer it?

9:00 p.m. Romney doesn’t hit the fed as hard, who is going to run the currency Congress? They didn’t let Paul touch the fed question, amazing!

8:58 p.m. Perry doesn’t back down from the “Treason” business, if the fed is used for political purposes.

8:57 p.m. Cain hits the fed in terms of the monetary exchange rate, Bachmann talks about almost unlimited power of fed and loans to foreign governments.

8:55 p.m. Question on federal reserve, goes to Santorum first but a slow ball over the plate for Paul when it gets to him.

8:53 p.m. I think Cain has helped himself the most so far, but nothing exciting yet.

8:50 p.m. Since that initial back and forth it’s been a more open debate.

8:49 p.m. First non-tea party question, can you be pro-business and pro-worker at the same time?

8:48 p.m. Gingrich points out that jobs are created by the American People not governments.

8:47 p.m. Perry: “People aren’t coming to Texas because we’re overtaxing them.”

8:46 p.m. Ron Paul points out you don’t pay for people being allowed to keep their own money. Important line.

8:45 p.m. Perry talks tort reform, that’s why Romney will never be short of campaign money.

8:44 p.m. “If you are dealt four aces that doesn’t make you a great poker player.” Romney

8:41 p.m. Cain pushing the 999 plan again. “You don’t know how Washington works, yes I do, it doesn’t!”

8:40 p.m. Bachmann stress not raising the debt ceiling still a strong point

8:39 p.m. 12 of zero jobs is still zero jobs says Perry

8:37 p.m. Wolf seems to be rephrasing the questions when asked.

8:33 p.m. First break, no word from the democrats to explain the lack of horns or hoods on the tea party members in the audience.

8:32 p.m. Michelle Bachmann talks personal responsibility

8:31 p.m. Ron Paul hits the wars again, but also wants to cut dept of Education and energy

8:30 p.m. Did Romney just push Cut, Cap and Balance?

8:29 p.m. I hate hearing about “waste and fraud” it exists but almost never gets touched.

8:27 p.m. Just saw Ali Akbar in the crowd, Stacy is rooming with him for this trip.

8:26 p.m. Are all the questions going to be from Tea party members? Great!

8:24 p.m. Santorum points out he was talking about this 17 years ago.

8:23 p.m. Gingrich delivers the Bazinga! “I’m not worried about Romney or Perry scaring people when Obama does it every day.”

8:22 p.m. Huntsman talks against “drama” then offers some and backs up Ryan.

8:21 p.m. Herman Cain: “I don’t care what you call it, it’s broken.” Offers an actual solution.

8:20 p.m. If I’m one of the other candidates I would ask directly are we part of this debate or not? Paul points out the Social Security money has been spent.

8:18 p.m. Perry given a chance to respond to Romney, are they going to play the Perry Romney show again?

8:17 p.m. Romney hitting Perry with his book.

8:15 p.m. Bachmann talks about keeping promise, Perry follows up asks about his op/ed guarantees benefits for existing seniors but been called Ponzi scheme long before me.

8:13 p.m. Good first question how do you convince seniors to allow the changes

8:11 p.m. Bachmann mentions founding tea party caucus, good move.

8:10 p.m. I like starting with the anthem but it’s not good that it took 10 min to get to the candidates

8:08 p.m. Yay! Dianne She opened many a tea party the same way! That’s awesome!

8:07 p.m. Bachmann get a big hair upgrade, Cain gets the biggest cheer, Huntsman almost doesn’t get one.

8:05 p.m. Cripes is this s football game? Looking for the cheerleaders on each side as they come on

8:03 p.m. Just saw Andrea Shea King in the audience

8:01 p.m. Notice that Huntsman was 4th on the list though last in the polls
