ReadabilityCan't do better than Ace of Spades on Occupy
I was going to do a post on these developments but Ace of Spades just pardon the pun ACED it.
Making this all the more interesting is the fact that the “In-Group” here — the OWS protesters — are largely white, while the Out-Group they seek to exclude are largely not.
At this pace, in a week they’ll have full-on Jim Crow Laws, and then begin making arguments that “these rules help both Those People and us too, because different socio-ethnic groups really shouldn’t mingle. That would produce a mongrelized, debased movement, after all.”
Speaking of Jim Crow it looks like selective law enforcement in the south is making a comeback:
Authorities began moving in a little after 3 a.m. using a newly enacted state policy that set a curfew for the grounds near the state Capitol, including Legislative Plaza where the protesters had been staying in tents. The state’s new rules specifically banned “overnight occupancy” at the public space and require permits and use fees for rallies.
But later in the morning, Jeff Blum of the Davidson County Sheriff‘s Office said the protesters were being released after a night court judge wouldn’t sign the warrants. He didn‘t elaborate on the judge’s refusal.
But Morning Joe insisted they were peaceful today!
via Stacy McCain who opines:
And death threats! Nothing says “peaceful civil disobedience” quite like a bunch of hippies threatening to kill each other over a PayPal account.

Update: Verum Serum about that Marine hero.…
