ReadabilityIrony overload Gawker writer calls for boycott of Gretta?
You’ll remember we commented on how our friends in the MSM/left who are totally outraged over Rush Limbaugh booked Comedian Louis C.K. for the correspondents dinner who has employed an …interesting set of remarks about women. and Mr. CK’s decision to pull out of the Correspondents dinner once Greta Van Susteren pointed out his remarks and said she would not go.
Well via Legal Insurrection we discover that our friends on the left have decided to take the decisive action, of calling for a boycott of Greta’s show:
Before we jump off into a hellish debate about conservative and liberal media bias, let’s all just remember one thing: Louis C.K. is a hilarious genius. And Greta Van Susteren has stopped him from entertaining us. Is she even on television anymore? Does she write for someone? I don’t know really, but let’s just all agree to never pay attention to anything she does ever again.
Ah Louis CL is a “hilarious genius” as opposed to Rush Limbaugh who apparently no right thinking person would admire.
It is getting nearly impossible to parody the left, it really is.

Whats the last comedy club that Rush Limbaugh ever performed in? Its time to stop comparing what he says with that of actual comedians who tell actual jokes for a living.
He is a conservative political commentator, and apparently he’s damn good at it. He has a radio talk show. He doesn’t tour. He doesn’t play comedy clubs. He didn’t start out as a stand-up comedian then switch to political satire like John Stewart, The Rev. Dr. Stephen T. Colbert DFA, or Bill Maher. So why is it each time he says something offensive he is defended by his supporters as being a satirist?
If a comedian says something in an act, its taken in context, and laughed at. People don’t actually think they are being serious. I find it hard to believe that anyone would leave a comedy show and actually believe anything said as being absolute truth.
Now if they ranted on twitter or weren’t performing a bit and went off on someone, people would simply think that person was an asshole.
So a comedian’s words are taken in “context” but Rush’s (for which he has apologized) are not?
Furthermore our friends on the left need to make up their mind, is Rush a “commentator” an “entertainer” or “head of the republican party” The answer seems to depend on the attack the left wants to make on the particular day.
It’s the same business with Jon Stewart, his business is political talk but whenever he crosses a line or makes a distortion of fact and is called on it, hey he’s just a “comic”.
Sorry, no points for you

Peter – you just don’t get it. Foul and disgusting language is most amusing IF the speaker is liberal and mocking conservatives. The other way around? Lawsuits and should be removed from the airwaves.
I’ll only say this. It has gotten so bad, that a few brave liberals have called out their own on this topic. You are absolutely correct, however. You cannot parody this; it’s already right there.
Sorry, I didn’t want to put this here, but I didn’t see an email address to contact you. You and I went back and forth on Santorum. Here is my view, tell me where I am wrong.

I don’t mind you putting it here at all.
I think the idea of a person on assistance claiming paternity when none exist is a big deal actually. You might recall the famous case in California where a man was forced to pay child support for kids that were not his because a woman claimed they were his and believed it.
As for Abortion is IS a sine-qua-non with me. It is the killing of an innocent human life and as my pastor called it, “the abandonment of hope”. It is treating a human life like property, that is what the decision is, not a medical one.
And once you remove the value of life, things change big time. Note that the declaration talked “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” Santorum often talks of this and notes that life is first on the list.
I would strongly suggest you take a look at the videos I shot of him in NH particularly the Q & A. and re-consider.
But I don’t mind your opinion here at all. If my opinion is worth anything it can stand up under fire.
This issue over the remarks by Rush is a clear example of how, a weeks ago, I called your show and stated my opposition to Rick Santorum because he is taking this fight into Social issues territory.
This election is about one thing- THE ECONOMY. That means jobs, the deficit and the debt. How the Republican nominee will create jobs, how he will reduce the size of government. How he will clean up the waste, fraud and abuse of government. How he will make it easier to do business, thereby raising profits, and more profit means more money collected in taxes. More jobs, which means less people on the dole, and more money being collected in income tax.
If Republicans didn’t learn their lesson on the Religious exemption on Healthcare debate – not that they were wrong – but how it was a distraction to the Election, then this Sandra Fluke should.
Yes, Rush called this woman a name, and yes, we can prove that Left wingers are hypocrites for not getting upset over others who have done the same in their own party, but again – it’s a distraction.
Advice to candidate when he is choosen: When asked about ANY Social issues, you simply reply “We are not interested in discussing them right now, because if we don’t fix the economy, it will fall, and “Social Issues” aren’t going to be a problem – because there won’t be any. Nor will there be a country to speak of!
Now please remember this next week when the Democrats bring up the next issue. Don’t get off course! Don’t get fooled! Stick to one message: “It’s the Economy”.
The Sandra Fluke stuff is backfiring splendly on the administration as the left’s own treatment of women is coming to the forefront.
This issue IS an economic issue and by hitting them on it we both point that out AND make the economic point that Mark Steyn made this week.
Santorum will continue to hit Obama on Economics and unlike Romney will be able to answer Obama on these issues too.
The economy should be issue one, but not only can we walk and chew gum at the same time we can flip these issues and rightly beat the left over the head with them.
The moment we are afraid on an issue they left pounces, let them be afraid, they need to be.
