Today’s Saturday Diner is a place out of my regular driving range:
I was in DC to cover the AFP protest but hadn’t had breakfast, while mingling with the early morning pro-Obamacare crowd I asked a Capital Police office where I might find a good breakfast. He told me the Supreme Court had a cafe inside and I could eat there.
Sure enough there was a breakfast cafe and some specials:
For Breakfast and lunch
Unfortunately for me the grill was out of order so I had to settle for English Muffins, A croissant and some bacon that was cooked before the grill died.
I decided to hold off on Tea or Coffee as I didn’t know how much bathroom access I’d have while covering events but the food was great, particularly the bacon and the croissant had a sweet flavor as if it had been baked with brown sugar. And there was plenty of room to sit and eat while reading my favorite blogs
Other than the OJ which I thought was overpriced the meals were reasonably priced and the quality was high. It is a good choice if you are on a tour of the Capital.
