Egypt has had a rough time since the ini­tial coups that brought Nasser to the throne.

They’ve lost mul­ti­ple wars, they’ve had author­i­tar­ian lead­ers, the peo­ple have been oppressed and the dic­ta­tors and pow­er­ful and mainly fil­tered the aid wealth to them­selves instead of improv­ing the lot of the avg Egyptian.

So you can imag­ine with his first speech the first demo­c­ra­t­i­cally elected pres­i­dent of Egypt, newly con­grat­u­lated by Obama on his win would be focus­ing on solv­ing these prob­lems with his first speech wouldn’t you?

In his first pub­lic speech address­ing tens of thou­sands of mostly Islamist sup­port­ers, Egypt’s president-​elect Mohammed Morsi has vowed to free the blind sheik jailed in the U.S. for a plot to blow up New York City landmarks.

Morsi, Egypt’s first Islamist and civil­ian president-​elect, promised Fri­day to work to free Omar Abdel-​Rahman, the spir­i­tual leader of men con­victed in the 1993 World Trade Cen­ter bombing.

Well if you are a per­son who gets his news from the MSM you are likely shocked and sur­prised. After all those warn­ing about the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood came from peo­ple like Pam Geller and Robert Spencer and Front Page Mag­a­zine and blogs on the right.

How can this be? You KNOW the Mus­lim broth­er­hood is not rad­i­cal, Barack Obama’s admin­is­tra­tion told you so, why one of Mrs. Clinton’s clos­est aides mother is in the women’s ver­sion of the orga­ni­za­tion.

Now how­ever they have power in Egypt, the mask is off. You don’t have to believe hotair or the PJ Tatler or me, you can see the reports at CBS news ABC and the New York Times

Now I don’t blame the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood pres­i­dent of Egypt for doing this, like the tale of the Scor­pion and the Frog he is act­ing accord­ing to his nature (no doubt learned in his years at USC) nor do I blame the Egypt­ian peo­ple who have the right to elect the pres­i­dent of their choice…but NOW that the choice is made it is up to the US to make them aware that such a choice has consequences.

And before you make the “oh it’s a dif­fer­ent cul­ture” argu­ment con­sider this from Allah­pun­dit:

Bear in mind, this guy has a Ph.D from USC, taught at Cal State-​Northridge for three years in the early 80s, and has two chil­dren who are Amer­i­can by birth. This isn’t a case of a ran­dom Arab politi­cian dem­a­goging Amer­ica by prais­ing some jihadist degen­er­ate who plot­ted against the U.S. This is a guy who lived here, stud­ied here, worked here, and had kids here. And now he’s look­ing to spring some­one who was even fur­ther ahead of the ter­ror­ist curve than Bin Laden. Go fig­ure that a Truther would make free­ing char­ac­ters like Rah­man a priority.

So now the mask is off and our friends on the left have to decide: Con­fronted with this new real­ity are they going to deal with it directly acknowl­edg­ing what is going on and act­ing accord­ingly or is their hatred of Pam Geller, Robert Spencer,Kathy Shai­dle and all of us who have sounded the warn­ing for years just too com­fort­able for them to aban­don it over a lit­tle thing like free­ing the first per­son who tried to take down the World Trade center?
