Golnik Tsongas Rnd #2 plus bonus State race!

While the rest of the known world was following the Scott Brown/Elizabeth Warren debate in Springfield Niki Tsongas and Jon Golnik were at Devens for the 2nd of 3 debates in the 3rd district race.

Just like last time there were plenty of signs

for both sides

I spoke to a Golnik supporter

a Tsongas Supporter

And took a peek outside

At a little after 8 PM the candidates were ready

The Panel from the Sentinel & Enterprise, The Sun and the AP was ready

And the Q & A began:

And continued

On Jobs

Green energy

Obamacare

Defense:

Education

Regulation

Working across the aisle

Social Security

PBS

and Iran

The candidates questioned each other as well on Citizen’s United:

and Mr. Golnik directly asked Congresswoman Tsongas why she should be re-elected:

Then both sides closed both Tsongas:

then Golnik:

Tactically I thought Mr. Golnik had the edge, on a strategic level Congresswoman Tsongas was able to Invoke the Popular Scott Brown which in a debate that will likely only be seen via news reports was vital, but she there was also a spot in the first question that might come back to haunt her so her seeming strategic win may be short-lived.

Before Tsongas and Golnik Debated a local State Senate race for the Worcester and Middlesex County seat race featured State Senator Jamie Eldridge vs Challenger Dean Cavaretta. Like the first debate there was a plethora of substance from laws concerning Sick time to an Internet tax. It deserves its own post but for now let me give you two videos to give you a taste:

A question on Megan’s Law

The Finance Committee

And closing statements fro both candidates

The Nashoba C of C was very happy with the result
