RoadTrip NY-19 Stephanie Valle from the Chris Gibson Campaign

The last stop of my Road trip was to the Cam­paign office of Con­gress­man Chris Gib­son in Kingston NY

Kingston could not be more dif­fer­ent from the small town of Kinder­hook where he grew up and main­tains an office, it was sprawl­ing full of nation­ally known names you would see at any mall which really threw off my nav­i­ga­tion. It was late at night and I had made sev­eral wrong turns on the way but finally made it there near 8 p.m. or so.

Gib­son like Ann Marie Buerkle and Nan Hay­worth were both elected in the fresh­man class of 2010. While both Hay­worth and Buerkle have a med­ical back­ground Chris Gibson’s back­ground is Mil­i­tary serv­ing 24 years ris­ing to the rank of Colonel and in the process earn­ing the Pur­ple Heart 2 Legions of Mer­rit and 4 Bronze Stars over the course of 7 deploy­ments and 4 com­bat tours of duty.

I talked to his cam­paign spokes­women Stephanie Valle and while polls are look­ing good with such a dras­ti­cally redrawn dis­trict they are tak­ing noth­ing for granted.

While his oppo­nent has decided to play the war on women card so like prac­ti­cally every Demo­c­rat Con­gress­man Gib­son instead runs on and toward rather than away from his record, but one would not expect a dec­o­rated sol­dier to do any­thing less.

Opti­mistic polls not with­stand­ing with only a +2.3 point reg­is­tra­tion advan­tage for the GOP it would be a good idea for national repub­li­cans to give a hand in this race to make sure the Colonel is returned to congress.
