Today we have a special Bonus commentary where I go through the choices on my ballot and tell you who I will be voting for and why.

As you might guess there are not a lot of surprises here but if you want to know the reasoning behind it here is your chance.

…because he says things lie this:

The Obama-Biden line this year might be rendered as follows: “We inherited a mess. We thought we could fix it in one term. But we need more time. Give us another term, please.” (I’m not sure they say “please.”)

Contrast this with the Reagan example. He too inherited a mess. The first years were brutal. In January 1983, the New York Times published an editorial called “The Failing Presidency.” It began, “The stench of failure hangs over Ronald Reagan’s White House. The people know it, judging by the opinion polls.”

Certainly by the time 1984 rolled around, however, we were rolling. Reagan curbed government and unleashed the power of people in a free economy. He was opposed by the likes of Joe Biden — not to mention the New York Times — every step of the way. emphasis mine

This is an important history lesson, in his previous column he delivered another one.

Ken Livingstone is going back to his erstwhile employer, Press TV. This is an English-language arm of the Iranian dictatorship. Livingstone is an old Communist, known throughout his career as “Red Ken.” He was taught to hate all things conservative, religious, right-wing, fundamentalist. That was his commitment.

And now he’s working for the mullahs? How can this be? You know how: The radical Left goes wherever the anti-Western action is, always. The form matters little.

There is a reason the left needs history re-written, if it is not and people remember it, nobody would turn to them. Jay Nordlinger calls them on it constantly.

Two years ago when I had my road trip with Stacy McCain we hit the PA-10 race where Tom Mario was trying to win his first term in the house.

While in PA I met one of the most experienced political people I ever met Hughey (pronounced Huey) Woodring who accurately told us what was going to happen in the state that year.

This year I knew I wasn’t going to be able to hit PA so before I left the house I gave a call to Hughey to find out what the situation was down there, both for the Marino re-elect effort and for the state in general.

Hughey was surprised to hear from me, he started by telling me Tom Marino is looking very safe for re-election in his slightly redrawn 10th district. Real Clear Politics apparently agrees as they don’t even list PA-10 as a race on their radar.

This is significant, he is a freshman running for re-election in a presidential year in a state that Obama took the last tie, if after a hard-fought campaign in 2010 Marino is safe and sound in 2012 that means the 10th is looking pretty good for the GOP.

I asked about the presidential race, after all Paul Ryan had already visited the state and he told things look pretty promising for Romney, in fact he thinks Mitt is going to pull it off. I asked him if the lack of the voter ID law being enforced would hurt in that regard but he still thins Mitt is going to manage it.

Remember Hughey has been doing this longer than I’ve been alive, if he thinks Pennsylvania is in play you had better believe it’s in play.

And if it’s in play in 2012 WITHOUT the voter ID law to keep people honest can you imagine what will happen in 2014 & 16 when the “old-fashioned” tactics of the various city machines have a wrench in them?

Be afraid Democrats, be very afraid

(note this post will be cross posted as soon as my other site is back up)

Update: Main site is back up, I’ll be re-post this there later.

Update 2: Think Pennsylvania isn’t in play? Reuters disagrees

Ann Koberna, a Democratic activist and former school teacher in the Philadelphia suburb of Doylestown, did not need a poll or ads to see that support for Obama was eroding ahead of next Tuesday’s election.

She noticed it just after the first debate, on October 3, which boosted Romney’s national poll numbers after his strong performance. All of a sudden, she said, Romney-Ryan lawn signs started popping up in Doylestown and now they are all over the place.

Be afraid Democrats, be very afraid.

Stacy McCain notes Sen Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has some interesting extracurricular activities when traveling:

Shortly after the Drudge Report headline went up, my associate Ali Akbar got a tip that the story involved Sen. Menendez of New Jersey and at least one prostitute with whom he trysted on a taxpayer-funded trip to the Dominican Republic. Within one hour, Akbar had confirmed this with other sources, and we understand that numerous reporters in D.C. have heard similar reports.

Daily Caller:

Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year.

In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.

I guess Moe Lane is right about making sure you collect from Democrats

But I have to disagree with the sentiment from Stacy McCain concerning this question:

What would Lilly Ledbetter say?

Frankly we know the answer to that, it was given by a different activist for women in a similar situation, a reporter Named Nina Burleigh back in 1998:

“I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal. I think American women should be lining up with their presidential kneepads on to show their gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs.”

There are two different cultures in America, the culture of the left believes the end justifies the means.

Any person who thinks democrat women who still kneel and worship at the altar of Bill Clinton are going to care about Bob Menendez paying for sex from women in the Dominican Republic has not paid attention to the Democrat party and where they have gone in the last 15 years.

I have no doubt as long as Mendenez votes the way Ms. Ledbetter and the media wants she and they will have absolutely no problem with any thing he does with any woman.

Nice deb weighs in:

I say *possible* scandal because with just a few days until the election, the Democrats are going to be in full scale circle the wagons mode – proclaiming his innocence, attacking the accusers, etc. They can easily run out the clock using their usual lying and obfuscating (or ignoring) methods.

And if that doesn’t work, they’ll just brazenly stand by him as they’ve stood by so many other bad actors in the party who have been caught in even worse scandals.

With Sandy the MSM has an actual legit story from NJ that totally overshadows anything Mendenez is doing. If I was Bob Mendenez I’d be on the phone getting relief crews to the state STAT so that when some guy at a bar is asked about this issues he can say: “I don’t give a d*** who Mendenez is ******** as long as he gets my power on.”

That’s the ideal

Update 2: I can’t believe I forget Kennedy:

Ted Kennedy became “The Lion of the Senate” after killing Mary Jo Kopechne with his car and walking away without lifting a finger to help her. So when I found out about the offshore sexcapades of Senator Bob Menendez from New Jersey I figured it wasn’t worth wasting my time. New Jersey voters are now more interested in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy than they are the extracurricular activities of their Senator, and even if they weren’t preoccupied, it probably wouldn’t sway them anyway.

It’s like buying an indulgence.
