Bob Menendez Hookers. Democrats will be OK with it

Stacy McCain notes Sen Bob Menen­dez (D-​NJ) has some inter­est­ing extracur­ric­u­lar activ­i­ties when trav­el­ing:

Shortly after the Drudge Report head­line went up, my asso­ciate Ali Akbar got a tip that the story involved Sen. Menen­dez of New Jer­sey and at least one pros­ti­tute with whom he trysted on a taxpayer-​funded trip to the Domini­can Repub­lic. Within one hour, Akbar had con­firmed this with other sources, and we under­stand that numer­ous reporters in D.C. have heard sim­i­lar reports.

Daily Caller:

Two women from the Domini­can Repub­lic told The Daily Caller that Demo­c­ra­tic New Jer­sey Sen. Bob Menen­dez paid them for sex ear­lier this year.

In inter­views, the two women said they met Menen­dez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expen­sive 7,000 acre resort in the Domini­can Repub­lic. They claimed Menen­dez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.

But I have to dis­agree with the sen­ti­ment from Stacy McCain con­cern­ing this question:

What would Lilly Led­bet­ter say?

Frankly we know the answer to that, it was given by a dif­fer­ent activist for women in a sim­i­lar sit­u­a­tion, a reporter Named Nina Burleigh back in 1998:

“I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keep­ing abor­tion legal. I think Amer­i­can women should be lin­ing up with their pres­i­den­tial kneepads on to show their grat­i­tude for keep­ing the theoc­racy off our backs.”

There are two dif­fer­ent cul­tures in Amer­ica, the cul­ture of the left believes the end jus­ti­fies the means.

Any per­son who thinks demo­c­rat women who still kneel and wor­ship at the altar of Bill Clin­ton are going to care about Bob Menen­dez pay­ing for sex from women in the Domini­can Repub­lic has not paid atten­tion to the Demo­c­rat party and where they have gone in the last 15 years.

I have no doubt as long as Mendenez votes the way Ms. Led­bet­ter and the media wants she and they will have absolutely no prob­lem with any thing he does with any woman.

I say *pos­si­ble* scan­dal because with just a few days until the elec­tion, the Democ­rats are going to be in full scale cir­cle the wag­ons mode – pro­claim­ing his inno­cence, attack­ing the accusers, etc. They can eas­ily run out the clock using their usual lying and obfus­cat­ing (or ignor­ing) methods.

And if that doesn’t work, they’ll just brazenly stand by him as they’ve stood by so many other bad actors in the party who have been caught in even worse scandals.

With Sandy the MSM has an actual legit story from NJ that totally over­shad­ows any­thing Mendenez is doing. If I was Bob Mendenez I’d be on the phone get­ting relief crews to the state STAT so that when some guy at a bar is asked about this issues he can say: “I don’t give a d*** who Mendenez is ******** as long as he gets my power on.”

That’s the ideal

Update 2: I can’t believe I for­get Kennedy:

Ted Kennedy became “The Lion of the Sen­ate” after killing Mary Jo Kopechne with his car and walk­ing away with­out lift­ing a fin­ger to help her. So when I found out about the off­shore sex­ca­pades of Sen­a­tor Bob Menen­dez from New Jer­sey I fig­ured it wasn’t worth wast­ing my time. New Jer­sey vot­ers are now more inter­ested in the after­math of Hur­ri­cane Sandy than they are the extracur­ric­u­lar activ­i­ties of their Sen­a­tor, and even if they weren’t pre­oc­cu­pied, it prob­a­bly wouldn’t sway them anyway.

It’s like buy­ing an indulgence.
