Taking the Day off (well half a day)

Romana: Look, we haven’t got time for you to practice anything. We’ve got to find the fourth segment.

The Doctor: You find it. I’m taking the day off.

Romana: The day off?

The Doctor: Yes. After a journey of 400 years and 12 parsecs, I’m allowed a rest of 50 years.

Romana: Where does it say that?

The Doctor: Section 93, Paragraph 2, Laws Governing Time Lords. You look it up.

Dr. Who, The Androids of Tara Pt 1

Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil. (Matthew 6:34)

Well it hasn’t been a journey of 400 years and 12 parsecs but after chasing around campaigns, elections and the like for a while, I’ve decided it’s time to take a day off.

I’m going to cook a nice breakfast for the wife, do some paperwork, tidy up the house a bit and perhaps attend a local Vets event and then in the evening get the videos up from the Sunday event with Dr. Paul Byrne.

It won’t be good for the stats, but the wife and family deserve some of the attention I’ve been giving elsewhere and if I can’t give it on one of her few holiday’s off when can she expect it.

All of the issues, all of the talks and all of the things we need to deal with will still be there on Tuesday, let’s take that deep breath so we can be refreshed for the fight that is to come.

May all of you have a fine Veterans day and to all who have served, my thanks and gratitude from all of me and mine.
