And whether you like them or not, they and the peo­ple they rep­re­sent will be part of this new nation that YOU hope to cre­ate. Now, either learn how to live with them, or pack up and go home!

One of the things that I never for­get about the con­gress is in the­ory these peo­ple are the cream of the crop.

Each mem­ber of con­gress rep­re­sents over 600,000 peo­ple. Now with two par­ties com­pet­ing for the office we can split that in half, but in most dis­tricts you have a sig­nif­i­cant advan­tage to one party or another so say the mem­ber of con­gress comes from a pool of 360,000.

In the­ory such a per­son likely was inter­ested in his­tory or cur­rent events in school, involved in stu­dent gov­ern­ment, per­haps went into the ser­vice and served see­ing first hand what had gone on. Dur­ing their live they man­aged to rise in local and state pol­i­tics not only accom­plish­ing things but being able to nav­i­gate the pit­falls that stop you before you even get started.

Then such a per­son not only man­ages to win nom­i­na­tion of their own party, not easy when there are dozens of smart peo­ple just as impres­sive as you want­ing the same job and will­ing to fight dirty for it, in fact maybe that per­son IS the one who learned to play rough and get that nom­i­na­tion and finally win a gen­eral elec­tion were you are called every name in the book and tens of thou­sands to mil­lions of dol­lars are spent to destroy you.

None of these steps sug­gest idiocy, nor a set of peo­ple around you who are dumb.

And if all of those steps to get into this exclu­sive body of 435 peo­ple are tough man­ag­ing to become a leader is even tougher because each per­son in that group has man­aged to do what you’ve done AND comes to it with a lit­tle bit more Eng­lish that you do.

That being the case how does one fall for some­thing like this:

Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio and Repub­li­can lead­ers are fum­ing after a late night phone call with Pres­i­dent Barack Obama was leaked to the press, despite an agree­ment that it would not be, accord­ing to sev­eral GOP aides.

I’m sorry you’ve seen the type of cam­paign these peo­ple have waged, you’ve seen their tac­tics and their loose rela­tion­ship with the truth, you’ve seen the media cover for them in Beng­hazi on the Bud­get and more, you’ve seen all of this right before your eyes, and you STILL fall for this kind of stuff?

I’d com­pare it to Char­lie Brown & Lucy but at least he has the excuse of being a ten-​year old kid totally inex­pe­ri­enced in the world. The GOP lead­er­ship does not.

The coun­try deserves all it gets from Obama over the next four years and the low infor­ma­tion votes who put them there, but the con­ser­v­a­tives who pro­vided the votes to give these men the lead­er­ship posi­tion they cur­rently have cer­tainly don’t.

We are a free mar­ket party, let me remind each mem­ber of the GOP house they are temp work­ers on a two-​year con­tract. If they don’t want to do the job they’ve been hired for, there are dozens of ambi­tious peo­ple wait­ing for the chance to take it from them.

Remem­ber Drew Bled­soe was a great Quar­ter­back and Tom Brady a low draft pick, right up until the moment he was not.
