ReadabilityThe Drew Bledsoes of the GOP
George Patton: You’re now commanding officer. You’ve got 4 hours to break through that beachhead. lf you don’t make it, I’ll fire you.
Patton 1970
Ben Franklin: These men, no matter how much we may disagree with them, they are not ribbon clerks to be ordered about — they are proud, accomplished men, the cream of their colonies. And whether you like them or not, they and the people they represent will be part of this new nation that YOU hope to create. Now, either learn how to live with them, or pack up and go home!

One of the things that I never forget about the congress is in theory these people are the cream of the crop.
Each member of congress represents over 600,000 people. Now with two parties competing for the office we can split that in half, but in most districts you have a significant advantage to one party or another so say the member of congress comes from a pool of 360,000.
In theory such a person likely was interested in history or current events in school, involved in student government, perhaps went into the service and served seeing first hand what had gone on. During their live they managed to rise in local and state politics not only accomplishing things but being able to navigate the pitfalls that stop you before you even get started.
Then such a person not only manages to win nomination of their own party, not easy when there are dozens of smart people just as impressive as you wanting the same job and willing to fight dirty for it, in fact maybe that person IS the one who learned to play rough and get that nomination and finally win a general election were you are called every name in the book and tens of thousands to millions of dollars are spent to destroy you.
None of these steps suggest idiocy, nor a set of people around you who are dumb.
And if all of those steps to get into this exclusive body of 435 people are tough managing to become a leader is even tougher because each person in that group has managed to do what you’ve done AND comes to it with a little bit more English that you do.
That being the case how does one fall for something like this:
Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio and Republican leaders are fuming after a late night phone call with President Barack Obama was leaked to the press, despite an agreement that it would not be, according to several GOP aides.
I’m sorry you’ve seen the type of campaign these people have waged, you’ve seen their tactics and their loose relationship with the truth, you’ve seen the media cover for them in Benghazi on the Budget and more, you’ve seen all of this right before your eyes, and you STILL fall for this kind of stuff?
I’d compare it to Charlie Brown & Lucy but at least he has the excuse of being a ten-year old kid totally inexperienced in the world. The GOP leadership does not.
The country deserves all it gets from Obama over the next four years and the low information votes who put them there, but the conservatives who provided the votes to give these men the leadership position they currently have certainly don’t.
We are a free market party, let me remind each member of the GOP house they are temp workers on a two-year contract. If they don’t want to do the job they’ve been hired for, there are dozens of ambitious people waiting for the chance to take it from them.
Remember Drew Bledsoe was a great Quarterback and Tom Brady a low draft pick, right up until the moment he was not.
Your call.
(Yeah I was going to use Wally Pip instead but how many people today remember him?

Reportedly, Boehner is even supporting a measure to tax Americans who are leaving the US.
He should have forthrightly OPPOSED this measure.
