For the sake of this post, I’ll stipulate it’s all true; Gun owners are dangerous and we of the right who oppose Barack Obama and gun control are a bunch of violent, heavily armed racist rednecks just waiting for a Glenn Beck or the NRA to give word turning us loose for an orgy of annihilation on an unsuspecting public, particularly women, blacks and gays.
If this is true, even a little bit, is it wise to provoke us with moves like this:
President Obama on Sunday said he would make gun control a priority in his new term, pledging to put his “full weight” behind passing new restrictions on firearms in 2013.
“I’m going to be putting forward a package and I’m going to be putting my full weight behind it,”
Given as stipulated the vast majority of the right is one step away from the cliff of slaughter, might saying: “Next year we’ve coming for your guns” less than two weeks after Andrew Cuomo said “Confiscation could be an option”, be the push to send a bunch of heavily armed Chick-Fil-A eating psychopaths over the edge?
It’s gasoline on a fire ready to engulf the country in flames with only the police, the army and power of the presidency to hold back the impending holocaust of good and decent Obama voters.
Liberals, be afraid, be VERY afraid…
…the rest of us will be out and about living our lives, pointing at you and laughing.

Hey, if you want an excuse to ditch the Constitution, and institute a police state, what better option would you have than provoking an armed insurrection? They figure they can win it, all it will take is some napalm.
Me? 40 acres and a shovel. But they will be very easy to get to if they are ever needed. Speaking of compliance, just what percent of the 100 million magazines in private hands are gun-grabbers expecting will be turned in? If it isn’t a high number, then how exactly will this protect any school children, or theaters full of Batman fans? And how much in law enforcement resources will be diverted from bolstering security where it is really needed?
Liberals (er, now “progressives”) have some deep rooted issues they cannot be honest with the rest of us about. The issue of particular firearms accessories is simultaneously about purging the world of the means of violence, because they expect to purge the world of violence itself.
At the same time they want to bolster and protect the government monopoly on violence. The government cannot have too many guns. Or judging by the immense amount of ammunition that it recently put out for bids, it can’t have too much ammo either.
This is not a all about guns, it is about control and protecting big and bigger government. This is not the America both my parents fought WW II to pass on to their grandchildren. If they could see what their sacrifice brought, they would have refused have put their lives at risk.
That “gun nut” vet character in Highlander was pretty horrible but I sort of forgave them because they let the guy live and I *think* I remember the cop later insisting that he was a respectable witness, a reliable guy, when he was getting his statement in the hospital.
From during the Bush administration: “You know these leftist clowns don’t actually believe a word of it; because if they REALLY believed Bush was this murdering, torturing fascist they’d be scared to death of him instead of marching and calling him names.”
Why? Obviously, if their provocation works and someone does lash out, that will PROVE how dangerous gun owners are. Of course, leftist-approved groups like terrorists and minorities and the poor are excused.
You must be speaking of the folks who are on fire to resist the Christianist threat but don’t seem to notice all those dead women, kids, and gay people wherever the Religion of Peace ™ holds sway.
I wonder if Obama’s background as a “community organizer” isn’t showing here:

I’m always amused to see people who declare their enemies to be crazy and evil, but are objectively relying on the sanity and goodwill of said enemies.
