Gop Party Chair Forum Kirsten Hughes vs Rick Green
Yesterday in Gardner at Williams Restaurant I attended the GOP party forum with two of the candidates for party chair Kristen Hughes and Rick Green in attendance
A pretty good crowd turned up, snow not withstanding:
I talked to some of Kirsten Hughes supporters just outside of the restaurant:
Then did a pan of the crowd:
The format was an opening statement by each candidate Rick Green
then Kirsten Hugues
Then came the Q & A with questions submitted in advance, the moderator was Former Ma3 candidate Jon Golnik. They covered a variety of topics
Reaching out to the Unenrolled:
and activist groups like the tea party and liberty (Ron Paul) groups
RTC&RCC structures and building them
The priority of Money, Issues and Organization
If the party leadership should be “clearing the field” for favored candidates
Their own fundraising skill
and the outreach to minorities and cities where the GOP is weak
How we should change the GOP website
And the big question, exactly why the Democrats win, is it organization?
A question about regional offices
And then closing statements by both Candidates. First Rick Green:
Then Kirsten Hugues
After the event I interviewed both candidates first Kirsten Hugues:
Then Rick Green
finally I spoke to Jim from the Rabid Republican Blog for his opinion:
This choice is going to say a lot about the direction this party is going to go in the state.
