I have been watching since day 1 on Morning Joe the “Destroy Ted Cruz” Brigade.
I have seen them hit and belittle Cruz, I saw them ignore his campaign when he won the primary against GOP opposition and from the very first moment when he stood up to be counted, I saw them paint Ted Cruz as some kind of lunatic that no self-respecting person would dare support.
Glenn Reynolds talked about this a few days ago
they’re so anxious to destroy him because he’s Latino.
Well there are many reasons why they want to destroy Ted Cruz.
The Establishment wanted to beat Ted Cruz in the primary last year because he represented conservatism rather than get along go along as Sarah Palin said in her endorsement back last May:
“Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.”
Both the GOP Establishment and the left would love to destroy Ted Cruz because of that Palin Connection as Cruz himself brought up at CPAC when introducing her
They hate him for his Tea Party Connection because he gives the lie to the portrayal of the group:
@tedcruz did well on @meetthepress good thing #gop didn’t go with some wild #teaparty guy & instead went with a party pick…oh wait #tcot

But the real problem with Ted Cruz is something deeper. He fought Hagel saying aloud things not spoken in polite company:
In all of the words in all the critiques of Ted Cruz by the left in general and MSNBC & Morning Joe in particular there is one word that I noticed was missing from every statement hitting Senator Cruz for his statements on Senator Hagel:
False.
At CPAC he not only abandoned the Teleprompter walking in front of the podium to talk to the crowd:
delivering lines with zing like on sequestration.
and I’ll always be haunted by the sight of Newt Gingrich’s emaciated face. It’s like Anne Hathaway in Les Misérables
and working the crowd afterward:
very well
but the real thing that put the target on his becomes evident from the sudden reversal of John McCain after Cruz’s involvement in the Rand Paul filibuster
and just a few days after his confrontation with Dianne Feinstein…
…to the great displeasure of people like Gail Collins. The real tell is less than a week after this confrontation what is the story out of DC?
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has decided the federal assault weapons ban will not be a part of the base bill and warned Tuesday an expansion of background checks to cover private sales might not make the cut, either.
In fact it’s even worse
“Dianne has worked so hard on this,” Reid said, referring to the ban’s sponsor, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). “She understands going back to the day she found the mayor dead in his office. I know that, but right now her amendment, using the most optimistic numbers, has less than 40 votes.
think about it for a second, he said that ALOUD:
You know what the most amazing part is? That Reid would actually float this incredibly lame number instead of just saying “we didn’t have the votes” and leaving it at that.
The left and the MSM want to destroy Ted Cruz, They hate him for his Tea Party Connection, his Sarah Palin connection, His backstory, his Latino heritage, his connection to the Rand Paul filibuster and his battles with Hagel and Feinstein but all of this would mean nothing if it wasn’t for one thing:
Ted Cruz is effective and for that he must be stopped.
For good measure here are two more videos of Ted Cruz & the Crowd at CPAC 2013

Well the good news is the amount on the thermometer increased by 100% in the last 24 hours. The bad news is that means it went from $10 to $20 which gets us to just under 7% of the weekly goal at the week’s halfway point.
It’s an excellent illustration of how statistics can be misleading and I’m happy to share the lesson, but I’d be happier if I can find 14 more people willing to kick in $20 for this week’s paycheck. Thanks again for your support past and future.
