The Yellow Cross Twibbon Might as well get it now

Update 62615

This post from Good friday 2013 seems particularly proper today and the warning it contains resonates. So I have promoted it to the top.

Dave Weigel had an interesting post up yesterday concerning the Gay Marriage debate, part of which would be no surprise to people who have read this blog for a time:

The new Democratic advocates for SSM fall into two camps. The first consists of people who always liked the idea of this but worried about losing national elections. In his memoir, Democratic consultant Bob Shrum remembers John Kerry fretting that the Massachusetts Supreme Court had forced Democrats to talk about gay marriage before they were ready to. “Why couldn’t they just wait a year?” he asked Shrum, mournfully. The second camp consists of people who really do oppose the idea of gay people getting married. Republicans argued that this second camp was tiny, and that liberals were hiding behind it. They were right!

That democrats lied at the behest of both Hollywood & Media, critical suppliers of both cash and positive press to them, where the gay community is vastly overrepresented vs the general population, is no surprise.

That they did so in opposition to Believing Christians both Catholic and Protestant who are vastly unrepresented in Hollywood & Media is no surprise either, but there was a line in Dave’s piece that particularly caught my eye.

Jon Allen follows HuffPost’s intriguing advocacy journalism by quoting the few Democrats who haven’t endorsed gay marriage yet. (HuffPost’s been straight-up shaming them, naming the senators who have yet to flip and explaining that “the arc of history is moving in the direction of marriage equality.)

The questionable term “marriage equality” which doesn’t include Mormon or Islamic polygamists not withstanding this is very important. The media has spent the last two decades laying the groundwork for today and win or lose in the Supreme Court if you are a believing Christian of any type Catholic or Protestant that same pressure and opprobrium will be vented on us, as it is written:

Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of people, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans. Matthew 10:1618

Over the next few years you are going to be branded as bigots, hated and derided. You will be portrayed in every form of culture, plays, TV series and movies as people to be shunned and no member of the media will fail to come after you for your offenses against the twin sacraments of Abortion & Gay Marriage.

As this is going to happen I thought, why wait for the Yellow Star to be placed upon us. So I’ve decided to launch a twibbon campaign called the Yellow Cross.

Rather than wait to be marked by the media and the left I’ve decided that I’m going to mark my Twitter icon with the Crucifix now and wear it boldly so they’ll not have to guess what side I’m on.

And I invite all of you who agree do to the same by clicking here.

The days of easy Christianity are over Now is the time to decide.

It’s Good Friday one of the most sacred if not the most sacred day on the Christian Calender

For Catholics it is a day of fast and abstinence but that doesn’t include abstaining for your help in securing that $300 paycheck this week although yesterday was such a day as the needle didn’t move.

If you are in a position to help me make this weeks goal consider hitting DaTipJar below.

Update 6-26-15

Matthew 10:16-18
