Doctor Who Space 2011

The War on Women meme continues to be a Democrat mantra, it was used against the GOP candidate in VA to good effect for the left.  Single women who believe it gave Barack Obama the votes he needed to win in 2012.

Obamacare in addition to it’s many other benefits was supposed to be of great benefit to women.

Yet here is an ad being used to sell it:

Because nothing says “empowering women” more than a Government program aiding them in getting hookups with strange men.

But hey this is a single ad, it’s not like you have say web sites arguing, for example that the best solution for women concerning Obamacare is to find a rich guy to shack up with who can provide insurance:

Here is the press release I received in e-mail from Seeking Arrangement.com.

SeekingArrangement.com, the world’s largest Sugar Daddy dating site with over 2 million members, witnessed an 83 percent increase in the word, “health care,” in all of its Sugar Baby profiles, since October 1.

“Younger, healthy Americans are essentially subsidizing those who need healthcare more,” comments Brandon Wade, Founder & CEO of SeekingArrangement.com. “While ‘Obamacare’ proves beneficial to those with preexisting conditions, low-income and elderly, young adults are now required to pay for services that they rarely use. In response, we are proving that there exists other options to curb the increasing costs of health care.”

Wade asserts that arrangements through the site are usually desired for living lavishly in the form of gifts and trips, or “spoiling”, with the average monthly allowance amounting to $3,000. But, many women turn to the site in search of Sugar Daddies when government decisions negatively affect American’s financial assets. In the past month alone, there has been a noticeable increase in women explicitly stating their need for health care coverage.

“Unlike ‘Obamacare,’ SeekingArrangement.com offers a fully functional website and realistic solutions in the form of generous benefactors,” says Wade. “Generally, health care does not favor women financially; they are often required to pay higher fees and premiums. With our site, women can gain an advantage.”

They call themselves a site that generates “mutually beneficial arrangements”. Being an old-fashioned sort of fellow who believes in calling things what they are, I’d say it is a pimp site but be that as it may…

I would be delighted the people of  left who are attacking Ben Carson & Sarah Palin for comparing Obamacare to slavery can answer this:

If the GOP is the party launching a war against women how is that the Democrat party, the party of Anthony Weiner, the party of Bob Filner and the party of Bill Clinton has, as its signature achievement of the last 5 years, a law that is such a gift to women that professional high-priced pimp sites find it an effective tool to persuade women to sell their bodies to satisfy the sexual proclivities of the rich and powerful in order to get healthcare?  I mean Seriously?

That’s not a war against women, that’s reparations paid by women for their defeat in the sexual revolution embraced by a political party enabling the people selling them on the open market.

Some might critique my hit on the arrangement site when I sell my writing and the writing of my Magnificent Seven to the public in the hopes of earning $340 per week. To them I say this. There is not enough money in the world to purchase such services from me even in the highly unlikely event that someone was willing to pay .  Even if Linda Carter (in what would have to be an EXTREMELY drunken stupor) was the buyer.

People often look at Pope Francis and only see one thing, mercy and forgiveness.

Now mercy is a vital message of the Church. Christ’s payment for man’s sins by his crucifixion makes possible salvation and the Pope is certainly correct in getting the message out inviting all to God forgiveness available to any willing to ask.

But if you think he is the type to simply excuse sin, you’d be wrong:

Christians who donated money to the church but stole from the state were leading a “double life” and were sinners who should be punished.

Quoting from the Gospel of St Luke in the New Testament, he said: “Jesus says ‘It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea’,” because “where there is deceit, the Spirit of God cannot be”.

He talked about the corruption as an addictive drug.

parents who earned through bribes or corrupt practices had “lost their dignity”, and fed their children “unclean bread”.

He said: “Some of you might say: ‘But this man only did what everyone does!’. But no, not everyone! Some company administrators, some public administrators, some government administrators… perhaps there are not even very many. But it’s that attitude of the shortcut, of the most comfortable way to earn a living.

I find the timing very ironic considering the new revelations from project Veritas concerning the Obamacare Navigators:

“You lie because your premiums will be higher,” one navigator advises an investigator for O’Keefe’s Project Veritas, who tells the worker he sometimes smokes. “Don’t tell them that. Don’t tell ’em.”

The investigator then poses as a low-income worker at a university who has unreported cash income on the side, worrying about how that might affect his premium subsidies. That’s no problem for a navigator, who says, “Don’t get yourself in trouble by declaring it now.”

“Yeah, it didn’t happen,” another navigator says. One more chimes in: “Never report it.”

and the amounts of money involved

In Texas, some of those people work for Local 100 United Labor Unions, a New Orleans group run by ACORN founder Wade Rathke. Local 100 is a “sub-grantee” providing navigators for the Southern United Neighborhoods group, which received a $600,678 grant to promote Obamacare enrollment. It also received a $270,193 grant for similar work in Arkansas and a $486,123 grant for Louisiana. Marcel Reid, a former dissident board member of ACORN who broke with the group in 2008 over its questionable practices, told me earlier this year, “ACORN is forming new groups under new mismanagement, and if Wade Rathke is involved in any of them, it spells trouble.”

Pope Francis again

in his sermon he described those involved in corrupt practices as “whitewashed tombs”, explaining that “they appear beautiful from the outside, but inside they are full of dead bones and putrefaction.” He said: “A life based on corruption is varnished putrefaction.”

Now of course the Pope wasn’t speaking directly to the Obamacare corruption any more than he directly linked these sermons to the Curia but I wonder if our friends on the left will be as anxious to repeat these words from the Pope in the MSM as they have been others?

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for it.

I just finished reading conservative talk-show host Larry Elder’s Dear Father, Dear Son: Two Lives… Eight Hours–an autobiographical story of Larry’s relationship with his father, Randolph. It’s a tough, unflinching and, ultimately, a tear-inducing read, one which I finished in two days.  Having listened to two incarnations of Larry’s LA-based radio show for many years, his spare, straight-forward “voice” comes through in the writing very strongly.

The life story of Randolph Elder is emblematic of an era of hardship, of poverty and overt racism.  The illegitimate child of an indolent and hard-hearted mother–he never found out who his biological father was–Mr. Elder was on his own at age thirteen.

But from that time until he was well into his eighties, he worked and worked and worked–using the strong back, skilled hands and innate intelligence that God gave him. And having taken on the responsibilities of a wife and producing three sons, he made it his business to see that they had what he wasn’t given—at least financially.

But, his adversity-born hardness and determination had a drawback: he did not know how to relate to his wife and his sons on a personal level. And this very sweet story written by his famous middle son, documents the hatred his children had for their father, the confrontation between Larry and Randolph, the reconciliation, and, most importantly, the love that these two men learned to feel and express toward each other.

Some politics are in the story, but they play only an incidental role; the primary topics in this story are communication, understanding and forgiveness.

God commands that His children honor their mother and father and, I believe that the younger Mr. Elder has, through writing this story, done so.  May we all be so blessed to understand and, if need be, forgive our parents.
