Election 2016 Don't Run Sarah Run!

It is really early to be talking 2016 but as the subject came up on Morning JOe AND Sarah Palin was mentioned favorably as a GOP candidate let’s raise the subject.

Anyone who reads this blog knows I’m a Huge Sarah Palin fan. There is no question in my mind she would not only be an excellent president but a one that would transform and inspire. (this FYI is why the left wanted her destroyed) If there is one interview I’d like to get for my radio show, it’s her.

But as a person who wants to advance the Tea Party cause, let me say this right now:

Don’t Run Sarah Run!

There are unquestionably several reasons why a Sarah Palin run (particularly if announced early) would be a positive.

1. There is no GOP favorite
2. It would consolidate the Tea Party Support behind a single Candidate with perhaps only Rand Paul not stepping aside.
3. It would completely neutralize the gender card, particularly if Hillary is not the nominee
4. MSM not withstanding she has established her brand and is a spectacular speechmaker.

But if your first priority is to elect conservatives, Sarah Palin is an asset that’s absolutely wasted in a presidential campaign, consider…

Since 2008 Sarah Palin has not only built a brand she has built a machine. while the rest of the GOP was running away she ran forward pushing for conservative values You can look directly at the results that year. Palin targeted 20 democrats in 2010 18 of them were defeated and as I’ve noted before:

CBS news pointed out Sarah Palin endorsed 43 house candidates of which 30 won while winning 7 of 12 Senate endorsed candidates. Senator Jim Demitt said “she’s done a lot of good for the Republican Party, and for our country.” And Rush Limbaugh, having none of the spin of the majority of the Mainstream media on the 4th said: “If anybody is an obvious winner here, aside, of course, from me, it would be Palin.”

Those Palin supported candidates included Ayotte in NH & Rubio in FL and Burr in NC who became the first incumbent re-elected to the senate there since 1968.

In 2012 Palin backed candidates won in Utah, Nebraska, Arizona, Florida

Oh and on May 10th 2012 Sarah endorsed an obscure tea party dark horse in Texas who ran against the sitting Lt. Gov highly backed by the establishment:

Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack. Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.”

He went on to win the primary & sits today in the US Senate

You might of heard of the guy, some fella named Cruz?

But to be fair there have been times when the establishment GOP rejected her choice. Sarah Palin backed Sarah Steelman for the GOP Senate nomination in Missouri. Her candidate was defeated in the primary and the GOP ran a different candidate…

…named Todd Akin.

Bottom line Sarah Palin has been instrumental in successfully advancing Tea Party candidates and principles all over the nation.

If Sarah Palin is running for President however everything changes.

A presidential campaign eats up money, dollars that Sarah Pac would normally be able to use to support conservative GOP candidates nationwide would be diverted to a presidential campaign.

A presidential campaign eats up time, While one can campaign for candidates in states when you visit during a campaign those candidates get forgotten in a presidential rally.

A presidential campaign eats up manpower, many tea party activists that would be active in local and state races would be swept away in a Palin 2016 run.

and a Presidential campaign makes divisions, the tactics that the Establishment GOP would use to try to neutralize a Palin 2016 campaign would make the MSM attacks on her seem tame, and that doesn’t even count what the Rand Paul people would be doing to stop her (although a Palin/Paul ticket would be intriguing in the extreme) and those conservatives in primaries who supported her vs other candidates would quickly have targets placed on them by the national GOP but other candidates looking to win.

I guarantee that if such tactics were successful in defeating her in the primary the base would stay home in 2016.

I think I’d rather have that money, time and manpower electing tea party conservatives nationwide, particularly since the the Establishment will be too busy concentrating on the White House race to stop her.

Simply put a Sarah Palin free to spend her time and energy supporting conservative candidates all over the nation targeting key races GOP candidates for the house and Senate is better for the cause of conservatism than Sarah Palin seeking the presidency.

If Governor Palin runs in 2016 I WILL support her without equivocation over any other candidate (even Rick Santorum) but for all the reasons above if she were to ask my advice I would say to her, for the sake of securing a Tea Party Senate & House…

Don’t Run Sarah Don’t Run!

Update: Added the year of the Palin endorsement of cruz.

“Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack.
