#NCSEN: Hagan's Bad Month Continues

By A.P. Dillon

Last week, I gave an update on the NC Senate race between Kay Hagan and Thom Tillis. Senator Hagan is having a bad month. That bad month is continuing this week.

Carolina Journal continued to expand on the stimulus scandal involving Kay Hagan and her family members. This involvement included ‘significant’ monetary benefit to the Hagan family:

However, a Carolina Journal examination of the JDC Manufacturing grant file at the N.C. Department of Natural Resources revealed that Tilden Hagan and William Stewart, Sen. Hagan’s son-in-law, had significant involvement in the project.

Records from the stimulus file show direct payments to Tilden and Stewart of $12,785. They may have additional compensation that was not reflected in the public records. Moreover, William Stewart now is listed as a manager of Green State Power.

Carolina Journal also reported last week that there was a USDA grant involved and that officials at the USDA had blocked access to the records in question. What was turned over had redacted information regarding JDC manufacturing.

Washington Free Beacon picked up the story of these sketchy payments, noting ‘It pays to be Hagan’. Ouch.

The spectre of Hagan’s missed Senate Armed Services Committee meetings also came back to haunt her. Politico picked up the story and inferred that the President and his team seemed incapable of protecting the United States in an article titled, Team of Bumblers?

Now, enter the race card as Harry Reid and Hagan supporters were caught and called out by Sister Toldjah for using Trayvon Martin to bash Republicans:

Another race card was also played by NC’s Alma Adams, as Brad Dayspring notes:

I wonder if these antics play into the Charlotte Observer calling her a disappointment?

Hagan supporters have a lot to learn about signage as well:

Perhaps they can learn from Hillary Clinton, who came in to stump for Hagan but only drew about 1,800 people in Charlotte. Meanwhile, Rick Perry packed them in when he came to stump for Thom Tillis. The ‘enthusiasm gap’ for Kay Hagan is real.

Now, factor in illegal mailers sent out supporting Kay Hagan.

If all of that wasn’t enough, Hagan’s week continued with a set of DREAMERS protesting at one of her speaking engagements in Raleigh. The protesters held signs that read ‘Friends don’t deport friends’ and proceeded to literally upstage Hagan.

What’s also interesting about this upstaging is the attempt by local media outlet, The News and Observer, to hide what happened.

Note News and Observer pulled their first video. They have replaced it with yet another edited video. See the updates at the bottom of my post on it. Amazing censorship by a media outlet.

What a bad, bad, bad month for Kay Hagan.

Washington Free Beacon picked up the story of these sketchy payments, noting ‘It pays to be Hagan‘.

The ‘enthusiasm gap‘ for Kay Hagan is real.

Now, factor in illegal mailers sent out supporting Kay Hagan.

If all of that wasn’t enough, Hagan’s week continued with a set of DREAMERS protesting at one of her speaking engagements in Raleigh. The protesters held signs that read ‘Friends don’t deport friends‘ and proceeded to literally upstage Hagan.

What’s also interesting about this upstaging is the attempt by local media outlet, The News and Observer, to hide what happened.

Note News and Observer pulled their first video. They have replaced it with yet another edited video. See the updates at the bottom of my post on it. Amazing censorship by a media outlet.
