What else is a private Tropical Island for?

DaTechGuy 8/23/2009

There has been a lot of shock and surprise at a story that has talked about a Clinton confidant and sexual escapades.  The NYT has a piece on it concerning the goings on at a private island.

The motion claimed that the woman, who was not identified in court documents, had sexual relations as a minor with Prince Andrew in London, New York and on Mr. Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mr. Epstein told the woman to give the prince “whatever he demanded” and “report back to him on the details,” the motion said.

Buckingham Palace took the unusual step of issuing a statement to rebut the accusations.

Lawyer Allen Dershowitz also named in this case isn’t taking it lying down aggressively denying the allegations

“I’m planning to file disbarment charges against the two lawyers who signed this petition without even checking the manifests of airplanes or travel itineraries, et cetera,” Dershowitz told Politico. “I’m also challenging the young woman and the lawyers to level those charges against me outside of the courtroom, so that I can sue them for defamation. … Finally, I’m challenging the woman to file criminal charges against me because the filing of false criminal charges is a crime.”

I’m sure a lot of people will watch the tabloids to keep up with a story that surely took a lot of people by surprise.

However it would not have taken them by surprise if they had read this site back on April 14th of last year when I noticed the lack of media interest in a story that had everything that normally sells:

Given that kind of stuff one might wonder why this story involving Jeffrey Epstein, who was already jailed once for sex crimes got no traction last month? It’s just the type of thing to draw eyeballs. What could possibly cause the mainstream to give this story a pass?

A new lawsuit has revealed the extent of former President Clinton’s friendship with a fundraiser who was later jailed for having sex with an underage prostitute. Bill Clinton’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who served time in 2008 for his illegal sexual partners, included up multiple trips to the onetime billionaire’s private island in the Caribbean where underage girls were allegedly kept as sex slaves. . . .

Did someone say Bill Clinton?

Flight logs pinpoint Clinton’s trips on Epstein’s jet between the years 2002 and 2005, while he was working on his philanthropic post-presidential career and while his wife Hillary was a Senator for their adopted state of New York.  ‘I remember asking Jeffrey what’s Bill Clinton doing here kind fo thing, and he laughed it off and said well he owes me a favor,’ one unidentified woman said in the lawsuit, which was filed in Palm Beach Circuit Court.

Oh that explains why the only place I saw it was at Stacy McCain site last month.

Yes Stacy McCain was a full month ahead of me on this story:

What are the elements of a great news story? Well, President Clinton is a perjurer who lied under oath in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Billionaire investor Jeffrey Epstein is reportedly a pedophile who had sex with underage prostitutes. And a lawsuit has brought out new details of the friendship between Clinton and Epstein:

That’s from March of 2014 and Stacy had a follow-up this week:

For the typical whore, there are no private jets, no Caribbean islands, and she never turns any tricks with European royalty.

Did I mention that Jeffrey Epstein is disgusting scum? Did I mention that Epstein is an associate of known perjurer Bill Clinton?

Because maybe you forgot that Clinton, who was accused of raping Juanita Broaddrick, reportedly took “multiple trips to the onetime billionaire [Epstein]’s private island in the Caribbean where underage girls were allegedly kept as sex slaves.”

None of the underage sex slaves have said they got boned by Bill Clinton, although at least one of them says she got boned by former Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz. He denies this accusation, because no Harvard Law professor would be stupid enough to admit boning an underage sex slave on a billionaire’s private Caribbean island.

Given the need for Bill Clinton to hit the campaign trail for 2014 and the “war on women” meme this story contains, the media’s willingness to ignore this story all last year is not a surprise, now with the British Royal family named and Dershowitz fighting back in public ignoring this story is not possible.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and it will be even more interesting to see if any “friends” of the various alternatives to Hillary on the Democrat side do anything with this.

Of course if they were reading me and Stacy last year, they’d have been primed and ready to go.

One of the slogans of the anti-police protesters is “Black lives matter.” By the way, I don’t know anyone who thinks otherwise. As I wrote in this space last week, I have doubts about the real motivation of the anti-cop movement, which I view as a proxy for the real fight of leftists–socialist revolution.

Out of the mainstream media eye is sad Buffalo, New York. As with Detroit, the one-time 15th largest city in the United States has been plagued by deindustrialization and depopulation–Buffalo, which has 260,000 residents, is now America’s 45th largest city.

Last year was another rough one for the Queen City. Murders soared in 2014–there were 62–whereas there were only 47 the year prior.

Of last year’s killings in Buffalo–a minuscule 14 of them were solved–that’s fewer than one-quarter. As for black lives–over eighty percent of those murder victims were African-American.

Early last month there was a large protest in Buffalo decrying the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. That’s quite ironic, because there were 12 murders there in December, the most of 2014. There were about a dozen shootings in Buffalo in the last two weeks of the year. Sure there are anti-crime groups in New York’s state’s second largest city, but they lack, which is a good thing, the stridency of the anti-police movement. But I have to wonder, where are the anti-crime protests in Buffalo?

You’ve heard of Brown and Garner. But the name Denell A. Baker is probably one you don’t know. On December 28, he became the 62nd homicide victim in Buffalo–shot to death in the Fruit Belt neighborhood. I don’t know Baker’s race. But let me end this post in this manner: Black lives matter. All lives matter.

The top story at the Hotair Top headlines has been the same for a couple of days, it concerns Mitt Romney & Election 2014.  Here is a screen shot of the image as of 6 AM Jan 2nd:

mitt hotair 1

The story itself quotes a longtime Romney friend who says he will only get into election 2016 if it looks like Ted Cruz might win the GOP nomination

“I know exactly what Mitt’s going to do,” [Ken] Gardner, a real estate developer who helped bring Romney to Utah to lead the 2002 Winter Olympics, told the Deseret News. “I think over the next few months, a lot of things will happen.”…

“If it’s Ted Cruz that’s the candidate, he’s in. If it’s Jeb Bush, he’s probably not,” Gardner said.

I found it quite fascinating when you consider that, if nominated Ted Cruz would be the first Hispanic American to lead or even appear on a major party ticket in the US.  A rather key historic moment for a country where every pundit in sight says the Hispanic demographic is the key demo in future elections.

Yet despite this  there has been no reaction to a report by a major conservative site that the lily-white very rich former GOP candidate Mitt Romney would be willing to go through the expense and rigors of another presidential campaign to make sure that the GOP doesn’t nominate the first Hispanic American major Party presidential candidate.  Not an eyebrow raised, not a follow-up comment, not even a single person crying “racism”.

Now it’s true that Mitt’s distaste for Ted Cruz has everything to do with being a conservative and nothing to do with his race but that’s not how the game has been played by the media in the past, so let’s imagine just for a bit, that either:

1.  Ted Cruz was a Democrat OR

2.  The media applied the same “Race Card” rules in this case as they normally would in others.

What would the reaction to this Hotair headline be?

Well the first thing is the title of this piece might be rewritten by others like so:

mitt hotair fake

Then we would see ABC,NBC, CNN, CBS, MSNBC, Headline News, The Daily Show, the View and every other talk show in sight talk about GOP racism.  Univision would host a week-long special titled “Why does Mitt & the GOP hate hispanics so much?” and you would not be able to turn on a network show without seeing a breathless reporter:

1.  Hectoring Governor Romney on in this comment is true.

2.  Demanding he distance himself from that person.

3.  Demanding Mitt Romney apologize for these statements that he didn’t make.

4.  Demanding every GOP pol in existence comment on and denounce these statements.

5.  Putting a mic in front of Reince Priebus demanding he explain why the GOP is so racist against Hispanics?

In addition we would see pundit after pundit speak of this dooming Mitt Romney, Renice Priebus, the GOP, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie etc etc etc….

Alas Ted Cruz is not a democrat and as much as he is hated and feared by the same GOP establishment that couldn’t wait to run Gabriel Gomez for senator based solely on his last name, he is even more hated and more feared by the Democrats and the left wing media that determines what is considered racist and what is not.

Because as we all know,  even by the media’s hypersensitive standards, there is no such thing as a racist or sexist comment if it’s made about a conservative.  Even if said comment comes from the GOP.
