A Psalm of RS McCain

One more Quick thing about the Stacy McCain piece I linked earlier, this paragraph jumped out at me:

Today, I woke up and turned on Fox News and was disturbed to see “Fox and Friends” playing along with Bruce Jenner’s ridiculous farce, and why? Because yesterday, when Neal Cavuto snarked at the new Vanity Fair “cover girl,”the Left went into attack mode and, we may presume, Rupert Murdoch’s executives issued a memo commanding everyone on the network to join in the “Caitlyn” charade. The Culture of Lies has become so powerful that we must forfeit respectability if we dare speak truth to perverse power.

Stacy’s description of Fox’s reaction reminded me of the start of Psalm 73

How good God is to the upright, the Lord, to those who are clean of heart! I But, as for me, I lost my balance; my feet all but slipped, Because I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

For they suffer no pain; their bodies are healthy and sleek.
They are free of the burdens of life; they are not afflicted like others.
Thus pride adorns them as a necklace; violence clothes them as a robe.

Out of their stupidity comes sin; evil thoughts flood their hearts.
They scoff and spout their malice; from on high they utter threats.
They set their mouths against the heavens, their tongues roam the earth.
So my people turn to them and drink deeply of their words.
They say, “Does God really know?” “Does the Most High have any knowledge?“
Such, then, are the wicked, always carefree, increasing their wealth.

Psalm 73 112

The first virtue remains courage, we’re going to need it. More on that later this week.
