One of the constants of the left is that if one of their own falls it certainly isn’t the fault of the left or anything resembling it. It’s an aberration, a person disturbed or the person really wasn’t a leftist after all.

But if you really want to find the ultimate it spinning Niki at the Liberty Zone has found it:

I shouldn’t be amazed at the continued racism, prejudice, and utter appalling lies perpetuated by the SJW crowd. After all I’ve written about them enough on this blog. Every time I finish an essay, I promise myself to ignore these nits hereafter. I don’t want to give them any additional publicity or clicks.

The story she is talking about is pretty basic, a rather well-known Astronomer and professor at liberal Bastion USC Berkeley Geoffrey William Marcy was found to have violated the sexual harassment policy of the college

Amid growing outrage less than a week after a sexual harassment scandal burst into the news, renowned astronomer Geoff Marcy has resigned his post at UC Berkeley.

But his resignation, announced by campus administrators Wednesday, did little to quell anger over the school’s light punishment after an official investigation found he had been subjecting students to unwanted groping, kissing and massages for nearly a decade.

The Berkley statement is of interest:

It is important to understand that as Berkeley’s leadership considered disciplinary options, we did not have the authority, as per University of California policy, to unilaterally impose any disciplinary sanctions, including termination. Discipline of a faculty member is a lengthy and uncertain process. It would include a full hearing where the standards of evidence that would be used are higher than those that are applied by the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) in the course of its investigations. The process would also be subject to a three-year statute of limitations.

The statute of limitation explains why this is not criminal matter.

Now the idea that a Berkeley Professor used power to take sexual advantage of students in his care is a legit story and one that’s repeated in public schools & colleges nationwide.

What was the cause? The abuse of power? A predatory nature? Because he could? No the blame for this Berkley professor can be laid at the door of that infamous womanizer…Captain Kirk…

In hindsight, those early episodes seem undeniably cheesy, but at the time they were far more serious – not only about the starship Enterprise’s mission “to boldly go where no man has gone before,” but also about the importance of Captain Kirk meeting hot alien babes on all of the strange planets they found.

if you think blaming Kirk is maximum crazy it’s not:

But condemning the behavior of the university and the professor wasn’t good enough for the “writer” of the dreck I cited above. No, she just had to take the opportunity to smear the SJWs’ favorite punching bag, the Sad Puppies, with that tainted brush, because Sad Puppies = anyone the SJWs hate.

The mental acrobatics and irrational contortions that she obviously had to go through to reach this conclusion are making my eyes cross! You see, the Sad Puppies, in the addled shit show of a mind of this particular imbecile, want to bring back the good ole days of science fiction, which are replete with misogyny, degradation of women, and the SJW morons’ favorite boogieman: the domination of old white men.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

This college professor while pretending to be a good liberal professor at Berkeley was made a sexual harasser late in life because of the horrible influence of William Shatner’s portrayal of Captain Kirk and Furthermore this just shows that the Sad Puppies Hugo Awards guys want to create a world we’re science fiction will be all about grooming people to think sexually assault women while pretending they are orion slave girls.

And you thought medical marijuana wasn’t harmful.

Of course even funnier is the demonstration of my crazy uncle principle as said opinion apparently produced a plethora of agreements and affirmation. It’s a wonder they haven’t launched a class action suit against Shatner.

I wonder if Bill Clinton & Bill Cosby were big Trek fans?

There are people in the world who need to be laughed at publicly, this person is one of them.

Update: Related, perhaps not being able to cope with the opposite sex is a berkeley problem.

“One time, I agreed to meet with this guy at 8 or 9 at night. Before we met, I said to him, ‘This is the work I do, I know the chief of police … so, don’t try and get creepy; I know all my rights.’ And five minutes later, he was like, ‘Actually, I’m really not OK with how you just assume I’m a bad guy. And I get very bad vibes from that, so we shouldn’t hang out anymore.’”

“I was in a rage. He was a total fuckboy about consent,” she said.

I guess this berkeley co-ed is lucky this guy sounds like a closet Shatner fan to me. I think Stacy can see her future

I know you can get the MSM for nothing, but that’s pretty much what most of them are worth.

The reason that I stopped writing is because I was tired; tired of saying the same things over again, tired of re-wording the same arguments; tired of saying “I told you, so” over and over again. The things I was right about gave me no comfort because I was usually right about “if X, then Y” leading to bad stuff happening.

The legendary Zombietime blogger knows exactly how I feel. Eleven years ago, she—it has been presumed for a while that Zombie is of the distaff persuasion—predicted something as a joke, and now it’s happening.

I made a satirical map of what Europe might look like in 2015, and posted the map on my site zombietime, along with a short satirical “news” article about how the EU was planning to intentionally hand the continent over to Muslim immigrants.

(…)

Looking at it now for the first time in 11 years, I am disturbed at how I somehow managed to predict (albeit even as a joke) what would happen to Europe in 2015.

Disturbing indeed. I know, because a few years later, in a post commemorating an anniversary of D-Day, I said this:

Europeans murdered each other thoroughly in [World War One], in World War Two, in between the wars and afterward. They did so via gas chambers, ovens, starvation and government prison camps and most of them viciously turned on the Jews using the means stated. Because of that–and abortion–there have not been enough indigenous Europeans left to reproduce and, thereby, fund the welfare states in which they so desperately believe and which are become their undoing. So they had to invite in immigrants from Africa and Asia–mostly [sic] Muslim.

And therein lies the interesting part. Murdered Jews—the monetary experts and culture of Europe–who would have reproduced to populate a far stronger and more admirable Europe, IMO–have been replaced by those who hate both Jews and non-Muslim white Europeans and who reproduce at a far greater rate than do their hosts. And the kicker is that the white post-Christian Europeans invited in their would-be conquerors.

The children and grandchildren of those who coveted Jewish possessions will soon be in a struggle with those who simultaneously claim that there was no Holocaust and who long to perpetrate the next one. No, hatred doesn’t have to make sense.

That struggle will be over possession of a land which is covered with the ashes of the Jews.

You don’t think God doesn’t keep his promises? Think again.

Yes, I’m disturbed. And tired of being right. But if we’re unnerved by our seemingly accidental prescience, imagine how author Robert Ferrigno–who conjured three novels’ worth of an American Caliphate–feels right about now! Brrrr.

A few days I wrote about Ted Cruz’s leadership role (at least one email noted some push back from trump & Rubio but looking at the video I don’t think you can really call it that) in throwing the MSM for a loop at the GOP debate.  Neo-Neocon saw it as well:

Although I know he’s a brilliant guy with strong opinions, Cruz has been the maverick for so long that it was somewhat of a surprise to see him lead the charge. He showed very good leadership instincts as well as courage, and the others sensed it and responded by following.

Pushing Cruz as a Maverick who is only interested in disruption and not in leading has been a standard meme for the MSM ever since he won election to the senate, but Cruz has always been more than that

When Gingrich had mounted a similar attack in 2012 on the MSM during the debates, he hadn’t take the same leadership role. How did Cruz do it? Instead of just talking about himself, or even talking about the MSM generally, he talked about what the MSM had done to all the other candidates in this very debate, and gave colorful and pointed specifics. This is what bonded him to the group, which is part of the leadership role—the group members must recognize him as a leader and see his leadership as benefiting them and joining with them emotionally, if only temporarily.

A writer is a person who writes, a leader is a person who leads.

Ted Cruz is and always has been a leader, that’s why from day one the MSM has wanted to destroy him (it’s also why Marco Rubio is always considered and identified as the “Hispanic” candidate when Cruz is not even though they are both Cuban Americans) because that last thing they want to see is a young Hispanic Leader as the face of the national GOP.

Is the Israel lobby as powerful as they say?

Question both Jimmy Carter & Roland Reagan asked Tip O’Neil after being elected

For a very long time antisemitism was a fashionable sort of bigotry in the United States and around the world from “restricted” golf courses and clubs to some pointing at Jewish success as part of a plot.

World War 2, the and revolution of the final solution of Hitler in one fell swoop turned this around in a dramatic way.  Suddenly open jew hatred was not socially acceptable and with the foundation of the state of Israel hatred of Jews was an actual foreign policy issue.

Determined never to be exterminated again American Jews stood by Israel with both their votes and their money and those who would sell out Israel would have a price to pay.

but the people who hated Israel in general and Jews in particular didn’t lose their views and dreamed of a time when they could openly oppose them.

“No one quite realizes just how passionately anti-Israel Carter is. William Safire has reported that Cyrus Vance acknowledged that, if he had had a second term, Carter would have sold Israel down the river. In the 1990s, Carter became quite close to Yasser Arafat. After the Gulf War, Saudi Arabia was mad at Arafat, because the PLO chief had sided with Saddam Hussein. So Arafat asked Carter to fly to Riyadh to smooth things over with the princes and restore Saudi funding to him — which Carter did.

Jimmy Carter has for a long time been the patron saint of those who hate the Jews.  He openly painted Israel as the segregationist of the south (who he once supported)

“The intifada exposed the injustice Palestinians suffered, just like Bull Connor’s mad dogs in Birmingham.”

He has actively sought to split the Israel Evangelical alliance

Wading into the delicate fray over the alliance between Jews and pro-Israel Evangelicals, former President Jimmy Carter last week reportedly said it was a mistake for Jews to accept such ties, and that he was working to convince Southern Baptists to change the way they look at Judaism and the Middle East.

And called for the recognizing of Hamas

Former President Jimmy Carter once again is getting way out in front of the U.S. government on the Middle East, co-authoring an op-ed in which he calls for Washington to recognize designated terror group Hamas as a legitimate

But while Carter was always portrayed as a lone actor in the Democrats that’s not exactly true, democrats have always known how to count and with the growing arab population in America combined with serious money being thrown around by Arab states things began to change:

Senator Edward Kennedy endorsed Obama in a highly emotional speech. Earlier “Kennedy was the keynote speaker at a gala dinner for the Arab-American Institute that was sponsored in part by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” He was greeted “with enthusiastic applause.” Among the guests was Congressman James Moran, a Democrat from Virginia, who had earlier declared that “without the support of the Jews, America would not have gone to war in Iraq.” Moran was also “greeted “with enthusiastic applause and a standing ovation.” One of the guests, Charlotte Kates, a Rutgers University law student and a leader of the National Student Conference of the Palestine Solidarity Movement, declared
Israel is an apartheid colonial-settler state. I   do not believe that apartheid colonial-settler state has a right to exist.

You would think that democrats like Kennedy & Moran would have distanced themselves from this kind of thing before an election but they both knew how to count and also knew the MSM wouldn’t bother to give this much press as evidenced by this story that everyone has forgotten:

The LA Times addressed its own controversy today in a news story (although one lacking a byline). Yesterday, the McCain campaign demanded the newspaper release a videotape it had obtained for an April story that mentioned Barack Obama speaking at a banquet in honor of Palestinian scholar Rashid Khalidi.

“The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it,” said the newspaper’s editor, Russ Stanton. “The Times keeps its promises to sources.”

Jamie Gold, the newspaper’s readers’ representative, said in a statement: “More than six months ago the Los Angeles Times published a detailed account of the events shown on the videotape. The Times is not suppressing anything. Just the opposite — the L.A. Times brought the matter to light.”
The National Review, and many conservative outlets, write that the Times is“suppressing” information for Obama’s benefit, while claiming that Khalidi was a PLO adviser and pointing out that 60’s radical-turned-University professor Bill Ayers was also in attendance. Meanwhile on the other side, Huffington Post is reporting on McCain’s ties to Khalidi’s organization (as did Harper’s).

incidentally the LA Times STILL hasn’t released that tape.

What does all of this mean?  It means that for a long time the Democrat position on Israel has been hidden for fear of a political backlash.  It’s analogous to their Gay Marriage stance.  A few true believers with a lot of secret support purchased by donation covered by a web of MSM supported lies until they felt strong enough to openly say what they always thought.

Well with the Obama 2nd term today it’s official, the day when Democrats have to pretend to support Israel is gone and now for the few Jewish voters willing to see what’s in front of their faces decision time has come.

Political dork that I am, I like to make lists for myself during an election season, ranking the five issues most important to me at the time. I started doing this years ago (though I skipped 2012). While certain issues appear on each list, the most surprising development is that the list changes a lot over time.

And yet support for Israel has never made the list before — until now.

It’s not because supporting Israel was never important to me. On the contrary, it was — it’s just that I never expected either major party to nominate someone who wouldn’t pass muster as a friend to Israel. Considering the Democratic Party’s turn during the Obama years, that can no longer be taken for granted.

It’s doesn’t shock me that people are starting to see this and write about it openly in newspapers.  What surprises me is that it took so long to happen.

Closing thought:   Jews as we speak, are being attacked and murdered in Israel because they are Jewish, why isn’t the MSM considering this a newsworthy story?
