Thursday this graced the top of the Drudge Report:

oscars

As indicated by the image Al Sharpton did, well what Al Sharpton does…

Sharpton criticized the industry for having a “fraudulent image of progressive and liberal politics and policies” and compared success in Tinseltown to climbing the Rocky Mountains.

“Hollywood is like the Rocky Mountains, the higher up you get the whiter it gets. And this year’s Academy Awards will be yet another Rocky Mountain Oscars. Yet again, deserving black actors and directors were ignored by the Academy — which reinforces the fact that there are few if any blacks with real power in Hollywood,” Sharpton said in a statement.

Now I freely admit that I’ve seen none of he nominated pictures and the only one I’m hoping to see is Creed because of Stallone and the Rocky series and I don’t know if Reverend (when was he ordained a minister anyways) Sharpton did but I do have one question for the good reverend and one for those in the Black Community who agree with him.

“Which of the current nominees was unworthy of an Oscar nomination and which one would you remove to replace with a nominee of a color acceptable to you?

I think we need to know who Al Sharpton thinks wasn’t good enough.

But the 2nd question goes to the people of color in the film community:

With the complete understanding that the nomination for an oscar can generate cash and open doors and how important it is, if Reverend Sharpton got his way and forced Hollywood to make sure there was an acceptable quantity of black nominees do you really want to be considered the Token Black who only got his nomination for his race?

I ask this because if the Reverend Al gets his way that’s how people will think of you within your industry and every single person, studio who fails to get a nomination in the future will point to you in private and call you Token.

Are you willing to do this to yourself and every other black film maker who follows you just so Al Sharpton can shake down the studios?

Would you to this to your race, your children and yourself? If the answer is yes then be aware that any time you speak of “Black Pride” in the future be aware that at least two people know you’re lying.

Me and you.

Unless you live outside America, you’ve seen the GEICO insurance television commercials with the tag line, “It’s what you do.” Such as this one about golf commentators whispering regardless of the situation.

Shortly before the Obama administration released over $100 billion in frozen assets to Iran, the mullahs released five Americans held there on trumped up charges.

Can you say “quid pro quo?” Can you say “hostages?”

Also part of the the hostage exchange was the release of seven Iranians who were imprisoned for violating our trade embargo with the theocracy.

“Empowering Iran with sanctions relief is like Neville Chamberlain writing a $150 billion check to Adolf Hitler before WWII hoping he’ll behave,” Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said shortly after the swap news became public. “This Iran deal is an insane disaster and this White House has lost its mind.”

I’m not so sure the White House lost its mind. President Obama and his oval office sycophants are leftists who believe America is too strong and it needs to be put in its place. That explains why on the day of his final State of the Union address President Obama not only didn’t mention the capture and video humiliation of ten US sailors by Iran in the Persian Gulf, but also his failure to condemn it at all.

And to drive the point home, Obama’s poltroon secretary of state, John Kerry, thanked Iran for releasing the sailors that they shouldn’t have seized.

Our policy with Iran should be regime change. Then maybe Iran can drop their pastime of hostage taking.

Hat tip to Doug Ross for the GEICO inspiration.

For one moment let me take off my Ted Cruz cap that I’ve been wearing since Sept and say this about what is going on in the GOP primary right now.

If you are a political junkie this is your golden age.

You have two masters, Donald Trump who has advanced issues that nobody else has, who has foiled the MSM media by using his strength and power. Who has counterpunched and forced issues by speaking uncomfortable truths loudly and strongly and dominated because of it. The man who changed how the game is played. Sort of like Babe Ruth did to baseball. He is the Cutlass, heavy strong and powerful

You have Ted Cruz the giant slayer. From the very first he has beaten people who were expected to destroy him. He like Trump has spoken uncomfortable truths to his own party and is hated for it. He has made fights that others would not, forced people to face uncomfortable truths, confounded the media by not accepting their memes and done it with all with a smile. He took the game as it was and made it his own ignoring what everyone else said. Sort of like Ty Cobb. He is the Rapier, cutting fast and sly.

It’s Constitution vs Crayne & Levant both sides have different strengths all will depend on how they use those tools to win. It’s the slugging team vs the running team. The Boxer vs the Slugger.

In game six of the 1975 world series Pete Rose is said to have while on 1B turned Yas and commented “some kinda game eh?” Regardless of who wins this is going to be an exceptional time if you are a political fan to watch how two such men show just how the game is played.

And whoever wins, will be that much more ready to face Hillary Clinton or Bernie and the media hoards who will try to destroy them.

It will be fun.
