One should either write ruthlessly what one believes to be the truth, or else shut up.
Arthur Koestler (from the masthead of Stacy McCain’s blog)
I already linked to the Debra Saunders piece earlier as part of a post on the MSM discovering the Twitter Safety gulag, but there is something in her particular piece which really highlights the difference between Stacy McCain and his foes that deserves extra attention.
I reached out to Sarkeesian: no response. I reached out to a woman who tweeted that McCain harassed her friend: no reply. McCain would talk. He noted that of the 40 organizations on the Twitter Council, many are left-leaning and none is conservative or libertarian. The Twitter Council is an echo chamber. “There are some people who just can’t stand the idea that someone could have access to Twitter or anything, or a platform to be able to criticize them,” McCain told me. They don’t believe in freedom of expression for others. Free speech is not safe. And Jack Dorsey has made them Twitter’s bouncers.
That’s the difference. the people at the Twitter Gulag are silent because to defend their action against Stacy McCain is to expose themselves for what they are.
Meanwhile Stacy McCain has talked to me, talked to Buzzfeed, talked to Debra Saunders and of course at his own blog he continues to fight
The proximate cause of the current problem at Twitter is Anita Sarkeesian (@FemFreq), so if you’re on Twitter, make sure Ms. Sarkeesian knows you hold her accountable for the implementation of these totalitarian policies. Some people are deleting their accounts, but my guess is that if you tell Ms. Sarkeesian what you think of her — and don’t forget to include the #FreeStacy hashtag — Twitter will be happy to ban you, too.
It is not my job to say which issue is more relevant to you, the reader, but when the Democrat-Media Complex takes sides in a public controversy, my hunch is they are on the wrong side. Liberals are deeply prejudiced and, to anyone who has studied their belief system, the things that liberals hate — capitalism, Christianity, the U.S. military, etc. — are as obvious as the things they love, e.g., sodomy, treason and socialism. Exactly how these liberal prejudices relate to #GamerGate, I’ll leave for the reader’s judgment. For now, the more relevant question is whether these biases of liberalism explain why my Twitter account was suspended last week. Did my prior encounter with Nicholas Edwin “Sarah” Nyberg (a/k/a “Sarah Butts”) in some way influence this otherwise unexplained action?
What Ms. Sarkeesian failed to do, of course, was to explain why she is so hated in particular (Answer: Because she lies) or whether the suspension of my account was prompted by a complaint from her or one of her allies.
You see that feminism’s hegemonic cultural authority is the real “status quo” in 2016, and what better “warning” — “designed to foster fear” — than to silence the social-media voices of those who “challenge” the lies told by Anita Sarkeesian. She has never dared to debate any of her critics, and why? Because liars are always cowards, and feminism is always a lecture, never a debate.
WHAT? The “rhetoric” of two British homosexuals “is incredibly harmful” to the LGBTQ “community” in Ann Arbor? HOW? Students “felt threatened by the debate”? WHY? Are these students incapable of distinguishing between words and actions? Ideas and emotions? Fantasy and reality? My little grandson got a bit frightened during Mighty Joe Young, but he didn’t need a “safe space.” Have college students today never been told to grow up and stop being scaredy-cats?
One more thing I left a message on Stacy’s answering machine asking about how this has affected his traffic here is what he replied:
The past four days have been phenomenal in terms of traffic to the blog. Saturday, my page-views were more than four times the previous Saturday’s, and triple my daily average. The boost to traffic made last week the best week I’ve had in six months. With five days left in the month, February traffic is already greater than the 31-day month of January.
And of course in addition to supporting Stacy McCain by buying his book, visiting his web site, when it’s not under DOS attacks and promoting his posts on twitter (which will REALLY upset the Twitter Safety crowd) and retweeting the #freestacy hashtag.
And may I be so bold as to when supporting Robert Stacy McCain recommend the five most important words in the English Language
