Hey let's Disavow David Duke AND Bill Ayers

I’m a bit confused concerning Donald Trump’s answers to Jake Tapper concerning David Duke and the KKK (Judging from Jake’s reaction he was pretty confused too by Trump’s response on what should have been a gimme question). It’s doubly confusing given that in the past he had no problem disavowing Duke in his reform party days and even did so on Friday when Chris Christie endorsed him.

Frankly given that past and the fact that Trump isn’t stupid, I presume his performance with Jake Tapper was the ultimate brain fart, but watching the media coverage there is something I don’t understand.

Without a question David Duke and the KKK should be disavowed at any and all times, but for all the fuss we are seeing today I seem to recall our current president had an association with a terrorist of his own.

One of the so-called smears the Obama campaign valiantly fought off was the claim Obama had a close relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. Team Obama said Ayers was merely “a guy who lived in Obama’s neighborhood,” and little more. Confronted with a report that Ayers and Dohrn had launched Obama’s career with a meet-and-greet fundraiser in the duo’s home, campaign spokesman — and future White House Press Secretary — Robert Gibbs issued a categorical denial

In fact Mr. Benson notes that one of CNN’s own reports states introductions took place at an interesting location

“Where was that introduction made? At the home of the sixties radicals, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. The Obama campaign again says it is just a coincidence.”

Can you picture the story if Trump had visited David Dukes house or served on a board with him

I suppose the goodbye party for prominent Israel basher and Arafat apologist Rashid Khalidi, attended by Obama, Ayers and Dohrn, is also unworthy of discussion. That Khalidi himself hosted a fundraiser for Obama’s first Congressional campaign must be completely irrelevant, too.

Then there’s the pesky fact that Obama and Ayers served together on the board of the Woods Fund for three years — and continued to do so even after Ayers was quoted in the New York Times fondly recalling his days as a bomber, and despairing that he hadn’t “done more.” (This quote, the Obama fact sheet reminds us, comes from an interview that just happened to be published on 911 — Ayers had made the incendiary remarks earlier. I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel a lot better). The funds Obama and Ayers helped control at the Woods Foundation funneled thousands of dollars into both Khalidi’s organization and the now-infamous Trinity United Church of Christ.

Let’s remember these are people who were actively involved in bombing that took place in the US targeting Americans and our current president spent years associating with these people.

Now this was an unenforced error that Donald Trump did this to himself and I fully expect Rubio and Cruz to take full advantage of it and with Hillary Clinton becoming more and more certain as the Democrat nominee the media is going to go all in. All the grief that Trump gets for this is on him, doubly so if as some have speculated, he was stupid enough to be worried about losing the White supremacist vote.

And believe me if you think it’s a big attack now it’s minor league stuff compared to how the MSM will be hitting him once he has the nomination in hand for sure.

But let’s not pretend for one moment that angst that we’re currently seeing on CNN or on twitter reflects any outrage over a presidential candidate associating with terrorists or hate groups and I challenge CNN, MSNBC et/al to ask the pundits who are with self serving righteous fury condemning Trumps waffling on Duke if association with a terrorist disqualifies one from the White House and if so why they either have supported Barack Obama in the past or have not called upon him to resign at once?

Frankly if I was Donald Trump I’d be asking that question aloud and pointing out the media double standard at every rally he holds and on every interview he has from this point on pointing out that both the NYT and Robert Redford have defended Terrorist Ayers in public.

But might I suggest to the Trump voters who might be worried about how this plays out that rather than worrying how to counter the MSM here it would be much easier to just avoid the issue and vote Ted Cruz who has supported all the key things that Trump has from stopping amnesty to opposing common core and fighting Obamacare.

For the first times since I lost my job an Stacy McCain lost his Twitter right we’ve had a setback in our quest for $61 to make a living back here at the blog. Yesterday DaTipJar was completely and utterly silent.

Today we’re doing a tad better we’re $12 toward our $61 daily goal with $49 dollars to go in the next few hours to get us back on track for the day without denting our current deficit for the year at 21 days and $1335 dollars.

To those who already kicked in thank you so much. For those who can’t afford it, don’t worry about it but I do ask you to promote the site when possible.

To those both able and inclined I’d really appreciate it if you’d help us close that gap by hitting DaTipJar.

Either way thanks for reading and don’t be shy about letting us know what you think. One can’t improve without critique.

Then there’s the pesky fact that Obama and Ayers served together on the board of the Woods Fund for three years—and continued to do so even after Ayers was quoted in the New York Times fondly recalling his days as a bomber, and despairing that he hadn’t “done more.” (This quote, the Obama fact sheet reminds us, comes from an interview that just happened to be published on 9/11—Ayers had made the incendiary remarks earlier.
