DePaul University will no longer allow students to chalk political messages on the sidewalks of its campus because of the “offensive, hurtful, and divisive” nature of pro-Trump chalking found on campus last week.
The bad news is the continued regression to 16th century values were Royal censors who decided what things could be expressed but the good news is this stuff makes Jim Treacher’s job at the Daily Caller so much easier.
Yet, as loathsome as I find Trump and his lickspittle apologists, I can’t help but laugh at the college students who run for their safe spaces at the mere sight of the man’s name.
It’s why Professor Glenn Reynolds says this concerning Trump:
It’s hilarious, isn’t it. And if he’s the nominee, I’ll vote for him, partly for this very reason.
I question the wisdom of paying a university $35K to protect people from chalk. Perhaps we should be seeing more of those empty dorms Glenn was talking about.
Closing thought, If you wonder why some of us thought the culture wars were worth fighting, now you know.
