The Top 10 posts of 2016

One of the odd things about blogging is that you don’t always know what posts will take off and what post will die on the vine. 2016 like every year had both here at the blog. These are the 10 posts the drew the most direct eyeballs

#10 Twitter Doubles Down Stacy McCain’s SexTroubleBook account banned

I submit and suggest that this is what is going on here. Stacy McCain is the test case and with a candidate even worse that John Kerry at the top of the ticket you will see Twitter acting decisively to suppress conservative opinions on their platform and by the time election day rolls around you will see things that will make his banning look like a kiss in the cheek.

I submit I was right about the test case stuff as Twitter went whole hog to elect Hillary. While they managed to hurt Stacy I submit and suggest they hurt themselves more

FYI you can still buy his book here.

Worth noting there is a reason why Gab, one twitter alternative which didn’t ban Stacy is growing and “quitter” the twitter wannabee that also banned him produces a reaction of “who?”.

#9 Hillary Clinton health episode at 911 today, no time for the mask at CNN

Now I’ve been doing this for nearly 8 years and I’d like to think I’ve reached the point where the bias of the media doesn’t surprise me anymore. But bless his heart Stelter and company did their best to do so.

I’ve just sat through a Mr. Seltzer and a panel of three discuss the story, the only person I knew off the top of my head was the ultra far left Katrina vanden Heuvel of the Nation. UPDATE: another was David Zurawik of the Baltimore sun and the other Tara Sotmayor) They had very little to say about Hillary Clinton but a lot to say about Fox news. They had no problem using words like “conspiracy”, “irresponsible” and were united in painting the Fox story as poorly soured, overblown and attacking the network for reporting it. Nowhere on the panel was any person defending the story, or providing any balance and let me remind you this is a show about taking an unbiased look at the media.

What was really funny was Jake Tapper came on right after for an hour and completely undid all of this by showing the video and treating the story as what it was. Significant breaking campaign news.

I think this likely did more than anything else to show the MSM for what it was and cost Clinton the election.

#8 Are You Kidding Me: Donald Trump and the Willing Blindness of Michael Cohen & the Boston Globe

Doesn’t “Be afraid because he said this”, this contradict that whole opening “You can’t believe a word Trump says” meme that he started with, or is it just me?

Oddly Cohen never noticed or was concerned about Obama and authoritarianism. I bet he’s been catatonic since election day.

#7 The Future belongs to those who show up: Totally Unrelated Update:

Of course if Europe in general & Germany in particular was what it once was, Practicing christians who were fruitful and multiplied, then it wouldn’t matter how many refugees came in, there would be a confident Population of Europeans who would insist that new immigrants assimilate or at least respect their laws and customs.

This was a rare post about a foreign country that took off, the update was a lot of fun too.

#6 My day was going great until I was shot twice by RN /NG36B

The first thing that jumped out at me was the difficulty realizing you were in an active shooter situation before it was too late. The shooter has ALL the advantages. Even though we used a cap gun that simulated the sound and smell of a 9mm pistol, the sound doesn’t always carry down a hallway. Plenty of people heard popping, but only a few realized it was a shooter. By the time they realized it, the shooter was pointing a gun at them at close range.

This is the first of three Magnificent Seven Posts that cracked the top ten and deservedly so as it was very interesting and informative. Great Job by RH NG35B

#5 Don’t you love him as he’s walking out the Door? by Baldilocks

Here’s what I know about the difference between the North and the South, especially with respect to race relations between black and white. Since the Civil Rights Era, the South has been transformed. In the North? Not so much.

The second of three Magnificent Seven posts in the top ten and it illustrates a fact i’ve seen about the north, that the only thing as bad as bigotry is bigotry coupled with self righteousness.

#4 History Flips by Baldilocks

The point is that there is a huge slab of Europe that, because of the Cold War, several generations of GIs never got to see.

So, today, some of my friends and I were talking about going back to Berlin for visit and going to visit all those countries which in our youth, were forbidden territory; many of our other friends have done this already.

My contribution to the conversation was that we need to get it done before the Germans adopt Sharia.

One of the first posts of the year and it really holds up well, particularly as Merkel is, well, Merkel.

#3 I double down and re-endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States! SEVERAL UPDATES

Now I concede this is bad, not only in terms of what was said but what it implies. I strongly disapprove of it as I suspect many others like me do.

And that’s why I’ve chosen this moment, Catholic Blogger that I am, to double down and re-endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States!

Why would I do this? Quite simple, I’m not going to let myself be played.

This was my reaction to the Trump tape that everyone figured had sunk him. It was one of the most important posts I’ve written, and it’s one of the posts I’m proudest of because it was written at a time when everyone’s instinct was to cut and run. It also was a the post that scared me the most in the sense that I figured that all the posts I’ve written and all the positions I’ve taken in public this is the one that I thought had the greatest potential to permanently break this blog particularly if Hillary was elected, but if you ever see me in the White House press room asking President Trump a question while the guys from ABCCBSNBCCNNPBSMSNBCNYT watch in disbelief, this post just might be the reason why.

#2 The Twitter Star Chamber Suspends Stacy McCain

Bottom line though not a rich man Robert Stacy McCain is an American Success story he has built a nationwide, dare I say worldwide following presenting his viewpoint and highlighting the public viewpoints of others who would rather keep their actual words and opinions under the radar because Robert Stacy McCain is loyal to his family, his God, his friends and the Truth.

I know this because I’m proud to say he is my friend. I’ve learned an awful lot from him the most important thing being there is no substitute for actually being there, gathering factual evidence, seeing for yourself and reporting the truth.

I guess that’s why Twitter’s new Star Chamber has decided to Suspend him sometime yesterday evening:

The best revenge for Stacy is this paragraph from a piece this week from a site that listed Banning Milo as one of the sites “Gold Star” acts of the year

A sale of the company seemed imminent just a few months ago, with Salesforce leading the pack of interested companies — Google and Disney included. But after a closer look, everyone walked away. Now Dorsey is stuck figuring out where Twitter can go and what it should do next.

A lot of people involved in Twitter are going to lose a lot of money in 2017 and Stacy & I will enjoy every minute of it.

And the Number one most popular post of 2016 at DaTechGuyblog From July 30th 2016:

#1 Nate Silver Officially Declares it time for Democrats to Panic

It’s one thing for a guy like me or Glenn or Don Surber or Even Rush Limbaugh to tell Democrats that they are in trouble it’s another thing to be told this by Nate silver the day after the Democrat convention and a week of the MSM lionizing all they did and said.

If you thought you saw some low tactics before given the combination of Clinton & Obama Panic you ain’t seen nothing yet. How Donald Trump handles will make all the difference.

Closing thought, Fyi to Dr. Jill Stein be aware that as a clear and present threat to their power the same anvil aimed at Trump by Clinton/Obama/DNC is heading for you too.

It’s interesting to note that the map in the graphic there doesn’t show Trump winning PA or MI or WI yet not only did Silver reverse himself almost instantly after this post went up but they did so quoting a poll from a polling company younger than Hillary’s granddaughter. The fact that this was right after the Dem convention where the Bernie folks were protesting loudly (and ignored as much as possible by the MSM) said much and the fact that it was instantly reversed as soon as I pointed it out said more. I submit and suggest if they had nominated Bernie he just might have pulled it off for them.

The final results prove denial of reality doesn’t change it.
