It always brings a smile when you see this award:

2016 Fabulous 50 Blog Awards

And the description:

DTG continues to evolve its group-blogging platform and Alexa indicates its popularity has trended up significantly over the last several months.

It’s a great honor to be listed among many fantastic blogs and I’d like to thank Doug Ross for choosing us and Bad Blue for including us.

The Credit of course goes to John Ruberry, Pat Austin, Christopher Harper, Baldilocks, Fausta, JD Rucker, RH/NG36B who write here weekly and Ellen Kolb, Jon Fournier and Tech Knight who write here monthly (and also fill in when needed). I’m proud to have you here and this award belongs to all of us.

The thing about winning such an award is that if you want to repeat you need to continue to improve so….

I’m looking for five more conservative bloggers, one each in five “M” states. Missouri, Montana, Minnesota, Michigan and Maryland to bring on twice a month here at DaTechGuy blog.

Missouri and Montana because we aren’t represented in the center of the country nor in the Northwest.

Michigan and Minnesota because they will be battleground states over the next four years and what happens there will help determine what will happen in 2016

and Maryland because we want to see how things are handled in a deep blue state outside of DC

As always if we take you on you’ll be allowed to write about what you want (subject to my no pro-jihad, no pro-abortion, no anti-catholic rule) but what I’m looking for is some state perspectives, what is happening in your state, how people are reacting to national news there et/al.

And I’m still looking for a regular cartoonist from anywhere.

Admittedly the pay is low with occasional extras if you draw big traffic on a post, but if we take you then you can honestly say that you’re a paid writer for an award winning blog and perhaps next year if we can repeat I will be thanking you as well.

So if you have an interest fill out this contact form below and we’ll talk

If you want to help keep this award winning blog going while at the same time supporting independent non MSM journalism and opinion from writers all over the nation like Baldilocks, RH, Fausta, JD Rucker Christopher Harper, Pat Austin, and John Ruberry plus several monthly & part time writers please consider hitting DaTipJar.

Please consider Subscribing. You can be listed as a Friend of DaTechguy blog for as little as $2 a week. If only 130 of the 209K+ unique visitors who came in 2016 subscribed at the same levels as our current subscription base we would make our current annual goal with ease. If we could boost that number to 260 I could afford to go to CPAC and cover major events in person all over the country and maybe take some of Da Magnificent Seven writers with me.

Remember all subscribers get my weekly podcast emailed directly to you before it goes up anywhere else.

SHREVEPORT – Consider this my New Year’s post for 2017 and this week I just have some random observations and loose thoughts to share with you.

First, I’d like to thank DaTechGuy for giving me this space each week to share news and opinion from my corner of the world with you. When he signed me up a couple of years ago, Pete told me I could write about whatever I wanted to and I’ve held him to that. I’ve written about everything from politics to animal abuse, local floods, New Orleans crime, and the threat to Confederate monuments. I don’t know how interest in some of those topics plays New Jersey or Wyoming, but at least it draws our world closer together.  I really want to thank you for commenting on those posts and for reading them. I truly appreciate the gift of being here.

As we move into 2017, I am approaching the inauguration of President Trump with caution. Oh, I voted for him – but as with many of you, I’m sure, he wasn’t my first choice. In many corners I hear great optimism, however, and so I know that a great many people have high hopes for a return to conservatism and common sense. I have always been a little suspicious of Trump’s motives and when he first entered the race I figured it was just a publicity ploy. I was wrong.

I’m not sure what can be done with Obamacare at this point but at the very least I do hope that President Trump will return power to the states. I want the federal government out of my classroom (I teach high school English) and out of our school cafeteria (my students show me their lunches – it’s ridiculous). I hope Trump reins in the EPA and pulls some of the crippling restrictions from coal country so we can return to prosperity in those areas.  I hope Trump selects a strong team of foreign advisors to guide him through the mess that is now our foreign relations.

There is much good he can do and I hope he is sincere in wanting to do so.

For 2017, I wish peace and prosperity to you all and again thank you for allowing me to share a few moments with you each week.  I am very blessed.

This bit from his top 10 underreported stories of the year deserves more attention

#03 – The disappearing women – Trump accusers.  Isn’t it interesting how the manufactured and promoted claims of dozens of women simply disappear once their usefulness is exhausted. Where’s the media follow-up stories on what, who, why and where are they now?  It’s as if the entire media apparatus knew from the outset the story only held value in the short-term goal of taking down candidate Donald Trump.  Now, they simply just disappear as quickly as they originally surfaced.  Yet somehow, at some later date, those same media voices will be back on TV promoting the next target of Gloria Allred inc.

This happens over and over with Conservatives that become a threat, all of a suddenly Gloria Allred produces women claiming to be wronged and just as quickly as they are produced they disappear once their usefulness is over as if the horrible wrongs supposedly done to them are no longer important once Democrats have achieved their desired ends.

It would be very interested if some enterprising conservative decided to follow up on why all these accusations just disappear once they are no longer useful to  Allred.

Incidentally This explains why the Bill Clinton accusers were never of interest to her.
