After a day of publicity that included Drudge and Fox Legal Insurrection’s Youtube channel is back up

UPDATE: As of approximately 7:30 p.m. on January 13, 2017, our YouTube Channel was restored, though there are still legal battles to come over the videos.

I’m sure the litigation from Professor Jacobson will be quite revealing but there is one thing that we won’t need discovery to know, we are going to see a lot more of this.

From the Banning of Stacy to Milo to others the left’s primary tactic toward power is to hide their actual goals and beliefs from the general public while claiming something else. Thus when a Stacy McCain buys bookshelves full of volumes on feminism and checks out the public web sites of radical feminists and quotes them in context he finds himself banned from twitter. When Milo calls out the left and gives specifics while mocking them he is also banned, and thus when Legal Insurrection reports on the BDS movement and exposes their actual words spoken to the public who are told that they are really all about justice and not about hatred of Jews, thus he is banned.

Nothing defeats the left more than for them to be seen as they are, thus when we expose them saying what they actually think to the world their wrath is incalculable.

We will be seeing a lot more of this since their primary power is now gone

Legal Insurrection, one of the best conservative websites, had hundreds of videos deleted (emphasis added):

YouTube took down Legal Insurrection’s Channel without any prior notice based on “multiple third-party claims of copyright infringement,” but we never received any claims of infringement.

We have lost hundreds of videos, including a lot of original content on important news subjects. You now will see disabled videos in hundreds of our posts.

Legal Insurrection’s creator, William Jacobson, is a law professor. After inquiring, he found out

that the copyright claims were filed by the Modern Language Association based on excerpts of audio of pro- and anti-Israel speakers at the MLA Annual Meeting we reported on in this post, Massive DEFEAT for BDS at Modern Language Association.

What is BDS?

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement works to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.

The Modern Language Association doesn’t like it when someone posts videos of what their members actually say at their conferences. They complain to YouTube, which dutifully follows their order to censor without telling the person who posted the video, in effect attacking Legal Insurrection’s reputation as a source of facts.

YouTube recently removed dozens of Prager University videos, among them:

  • Why Don’t Feminists Fight for Muslim Women?
  • Who’s More Pro-Choice: Europe or America?
  • What ISIS Wants
  • Are 1 in 5 Women Raped at College?
  • Is America Racist?
  • Israel: The World’s Most Moral Army
  • Radical Islam: The Most Dangerous Ideology
  • The Most Important Question About Abortion
  • Why Do People Become Islamic Extremists?
  • Pakistan: Can Sharia and Freedom Coexist?

If by now you don’t realize we’re fighting a culture war, you haven’t been paying attention.

Fausta Rodríguez Wertz posts on U.S. and Latin America at Fausta’s blog.

I had a coworker at the warehouse that I work overnight at who used to ride into work with me. He was talking about trying to get fuel assistance and commented on the fact that Citizen’s Energy who used to provide him with oil in the past has not come through for the past 2 years.

What you don’t remember Citizen’s energy, and Joe4Oil? It wasn’t long ago that these ads were all the rage in Massachusetts

That ad while good at tugging at the heartstrings was slightly inaccurate, the oil wasn’t from “The good people of Venezuela” it was from Hugo Chavez who looted his country till the day he died.

The end result? While the Chavez family is one of the richest in the land the people of Venezuela see things like this:

Images of Hospitals that look like catacombs, and prisons that have become maximum security business centers for criminals where no law applies, have become a reference when speaking about the country. But the wound goes much deeper than that.

We’re not just talking about shortages of basic staples such as toilet paper and soap, or daily electricity cuts, the five-day weekends for public employees, or about any of those stories that have turned Venezuela into a punchline with a seat at the United Nations Human Rights Council. No. The economic collapse at the hands of chavista economic policies has brought something deadlier, and so much simpler: hunger.

How bad is it, even the NYT reports…

With delivery trucks under constant attack, the nation’s food is now transported under armed guard. Soldiers stand watch over bakeries. The police fire rubber bullets at desperate mobs storming grocery stores, pharmacies and butcher shops. A 4-year-old girl was shot to death as street gangs fought over food.

Venezuela is convulsing from hunger.

Hundreds of people here in the city of Cumaná, home to one of the region’s independence heroes, marched on a supermarket in recent days, screaming for food. They forced open a large metal gate and poured inside. They snatched water, flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, potatoes, anything they could find, leaving behind only broken freezers and overturned shelves.

Or as Margaret Thatcher might have put it, the Government of Venezuela has run out of other people’s money and that means if you are expecting cheap oil or gas from Joe Kennedy, you’re out of luck

The Joe-4-Oil Heat Program is not currently accepting applications for assistance.
