The First session of DaTechGuy’s Midnight Court was originally going to end with this interview with Sue and Robert

Sue and Robert were both interesting, Sue was a big Cruz fan but Trump won him over and Robert’s comment on Trump reminding him of the way his dad talked is something that I think a lot of people saw in him.

By the way they are not together I simply interviewed them together.

I was getting ready to pack it up because it was nearly 3 am and I noticed a lady sitting down I went to her and told her I hope we weren’t too loud. That lady was Donna Marie Fred who agreed to be interviewed

She actually was interviewed by USA today as well:

Retiree Donna-Marie Fred from Findlay, Ohio, said Trump is doing “a great job, an excellent job,” particularly his immigration orders.
But she said she’s worried about her Social Security, which she doesn’t want to be taken away. “It is not quote ‘an entitlement’ or a free ride. You work for that money, you put it away.”

She also had an interesting and compelling back story that was too long for video but I recorded audio of it, definitely worth a listen.

http://datechguyblog.com/dapodcast/dtgmc_Donna_Maries_story.mp3

It’s well worth a listen but I’d like to make a point concerning her story.

The story of her struggles as a whistleblower are important and significant, but for my money the most impressive thing was her carrying on after her husband’s murder raising three kids while getting both an education and a job and doing so without relying on the government. Her determination to support her children herself and not rely on government is an example for us all.

2016 Fabulous 50 Blog Awards

There is plenty more from CPAC coming over the next couple of weeks, but what is also going to be coming are a lot of hospital bills and debt from work that both my wife and I are going to be missing because of the complications from her “routine” surgery.

If you are able and inclined to help mitigate them I’d ask you to consider hitting DaTipJar

I’m sure this story

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick is planning to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, March 9, when the new league year begins. Which teams would have interest in Kaepernick as a starter or backup?

And this one

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick will stand during the national anthem next season, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

Kaepernick no longer wants his method of protest to detract from the positive change that he believes has been created, sources told ESPN. He also believes the amount of national discussion on social inequality — as well as support from other athletes nationwide, including NFL and NBA players — affirmed the message he was trying to deliver.

Are totally and completely unrelated.

After all the idea that Colin Kaepernick’s principles are directly connected to his marketability in a post Hillary world is no more believable than the idea of the media having a primary goal of bringing down the Trump administration.

Who’d buy a story like that?

Update: Allahpundit At Hotair:

This guy must be the only liberal in America who’s less eager to protest now that Trump is in office.

Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri has a flare for the dramatic. She’s risen on the Democratic power charts by calling out Republicans every chance she gets. It’s no surprise that she would call out Attorney General Jeff Sessions after it was revealed he met with the Russian Ambassador during campaign season last year.

That’s a pretty powerful condemnation of her former peer in light of the recent revelations. The problem is that it’s a complete and total lie. She DID have a call with a Russian Ambassador in the past.

Twitter has a long memory. Granted, it was a group call and mentioning the Russian Ambassador within the group technically means she didn’t speak with him directly, right? We also should take into account that she didn’t actually meet with the Ambassador. Phone calls are easy to forget, especially for a busy Senator.

Uh oh…

No group call this time. No call at all, in fact. She actually met with the Russian Ambassador.

Here’s the problem with leftist hypocrisy (all hypocrisy, for that matter, though it predominantly spews forth from leftists): The rhetoric can only sustain the narrative for as long as the truth remains hidden. Senator McCaskill inserted herself into a situation and thought she was throwing stones. Instead, she was throwing a boomerang that came back to hit her.

The problem here isn’t the dishonesty. It isn’t the hypocrisy. It’s that mainstream media won’t say a thing about McCaskill’s lie. They’ll cover for her just as they tried to cover for Hillary and just as they covered for President Obama for eight years. This is the reason I write about politics. The real hypocrisy comes from the storytellers more so than the subjects of their stories.

One of the things I was determined to do at CPAC was interview as many regular attendees as possible to gather data on their response to the Trump administration. I started these interviews on Thursday. One such person I talked to was Phil

I also interviewed Michelle, and was quite flattered that she remembered me even though I had not been to CPAC in two years

You might start to notice a pattern the more of these interviews I put up, not just the questions but the way the answers are running and if you don’t here are plenty more to come.

Van Jones has always worried me.

Not because he is a radical marxist leftist, there are plenty of radical marxist leftists out there.

Not because he is a bigot and liar who signed a petition suggesting Bush had known about 9/11 , the left is full of bigots and liars, one more doesn’t make any difference.

Not even because he can put on a nice face, nice enough to get a CNN gig, that’s a tad bit of a worry, because he can put on the nice face and carry himself as something other than what he isn’t he has a better chance of selling his BS, but that’s something we can handle.

No what worries me about Van Jones is that he’s smart enough to recognize that the attempt to “other” Trump has now failed and a new line of attack is going to have to be found stat.

the details:

Van Jones praised President Trump for honoring the widow of a Navy SEAL killed during a raid in Yemen, saying “he became president of the United States in that moment, period.”

“There are a lot of people who have a lot of reason to be frustrated with him, to be fearful of him, to be mad of him, but that was one of the most extraordinary moments you have ever seen in American politics, period,” Jones said on CNN.

Jones, a liberal commentator who frequently criticizes Trump, said the president did something “extraordinary.”

This is very important because once the left figures out that Trump is playing them like a bullfighter then they might actually figure out an effective counter to him.

However the left being the left not only have their most public members taken exactly the opposite tack:

But they decided to go after Van Jones for daring to warn them of the bear trap they are walking into:

Now we can’t count the left to keep this level of stupidity forever but if President Trump send out a single tweet they don’t like and the MSM jumps all over it, then we can be sure that the left won’t bother to learn their lesson.
