Quick Thoughts Under the Fedora Everything's Hate, Adding ACT, HoustonJim Brown

We mentioned Act for America feeling compelled to cancel their nationwide events Sept 9th. I’ve invited Dianne Ploss of Boston’s ACT chapter to join us for the Stacy McCain Buffet Books and Blather event in Leominster. She has graciously accepted and we look forward to seeing her on our roundtable panel. You can get tickets here.

Speaking of Stacy McCain he has noted that this tendency to embrace the violent, the kooks the freaks and disavow anyone who critiques them will have one result or as he put it: “Trying to win elections by claiming that people who don’t vote for you are racist sexist homophobes is a good way to lose an election.

The Houston disaster continues and demonstrates something important. That while we can make good scientific guesses our ability to predict the cycles of weather and climate are limited by the amount of years we’ve actually been measuring thus when it comes to any storm cycle that repeats over a period of 300 years or more, we haven’t got a clue.

The contrast between those trying to help in Houston and those who are rioting in Berkeley or calling for the removal of monuments has been a disaster to the left and the media’s memes, or to put it another way, I’ve seen pictures of boats with Confederate flags saving folks in Texas, I’ve not seen pictures of boats full of people in black wearing masks doing so.

Meanwhile some things continue as usual in places like Michigan: MICHIGAN: TERROR INVESTIGATION NABS MUSLIM WITH CACHE OF UNREGISTERED WEAPONS IN YPSILANTI. Just because the MSM leaves this stuff to Pam Geller and others doesn’t mean it isn’t going on.

I was called back to work this week from the company that laid me off, I started on Tuesday which is the 3rd workday of this new shift I’m on. While I was out of work my readers provided me with a paycheck every week I was out plus the equivalent of two more days worth of pay, I’ll leave you to decide it that is coincidence or providence.

Yesterday on the radio I heard there was a march of ministers against Trump which gave few details. One of the detals they left out was that it was organized and led by Al Sharpton, presumably because such info would defeat the MSM goal of portraying the march as an actual moral crusade.

When I was young the NAACP was known for standing up to police dogs and angry Klansmen for the rights of average people to go to school, sit at a lunch counter and live where they will. Now they are known for protesting on behalf of a millionaire football player unsigned after a 210 record and people wonder why they aren’t as respected as they once were.

All last week in Cleveland while basketball fans talked the big trade with the Celtics and Baseball fans talked Indians exciting division run, Football fans were talking a dozen Browns players including one white player, kneeling for the anthem and the fallout from a judge, a VFW and a widow of a slain officer. Lucky for Cleveland the greatest Brown, Jim Brown got involved saying how he would never disrespect the flag and the Browns decided to concentrate on Football instead of protests this week and won.

To close on a football story actually involving football the New England Patriots has lost Julian Edelman for the season thanks to an injury in their 3rd preseason game. Despite what you are hearing from sites like this as long the offensive line and Tom Brady remain uninjured Edelman’s absence from the Patriot lineup this year will have only a slightly greater effect on their playoff run than my own.
