In what has become the media norm we have been treated to yet another day when we’ve had the MSM report that Trump has said something (Haiti is a shithole) only to have that noted Trump Apologist Jake Tapper report that the report wasn’t quite accurate, and then a week of people talking about it.
This was quickly followed by the MSM reporting that the US Ambassador to Panama resigned over those non remarks only to find out that said resignation was turned in weeks before and was only announced the same day.
Now we also have the Donald Trump fake news list which came out yesterday highlighting things the MSM got wrong last year.
Given what we’ve been seeing for the last year the pattern of:
MSM moral outrage and or self righteous certainty that the Trump Presidency is over
…has become so common that a person who hasn’t been paying attention might assume this has been the case for decades rather than a new phenomenon in response to the election of Donald Trump.
However this does lead to the problem for people who actually want to deal with facts rather than memes.
Therefore in the interest of people like our readers who like dealing with reality I propose the following rule:
Any News report by the MSM concerning Donald Trump should be considered false on its face and ignored for at least 48 hours unless said report contains:
Actual video or audio confirming said report
At least two on the record sources willing to confirm it
Work from this rule and you’ll be fine. Of course we’ve reached the point where most of the people reading this rule likely have already applied it.
