At PJ Media, Jeff Sanders gives a list of 6 Words the Left Twists to Silence You. Any list like this would be far insufficient in length, but I believe that he only glanced against the most important one: love.

In 2013, I made this observation:

[In reality], there are three* types of love: agape, phileo, and eros; aka godly love, friendship, and sexual desire, respectively. Somewhere along the way, a new definition of love was added to the language, one which has a single outward feature: giving a person what s/he wants. With this type of “love,” one must give a person anything s/he wants or approve of the gift.  Anything less becomes the opposite of love: hatred. And when a group wants a thing for the sake of some characteristic of that group, opposition to the giving becomes hatred of that group.

Thus, when a white person won’t give a black person what he wants or disagrees with him, it’s racism on the white person’s part. When a man won’t give a woman what she wants or disagrees with her, it’s sexism on his part. When a heterosexual won’t give a homosexual what she wants or disagrees with her, it’s homophobia on the heterosexual’s part.

And when a black person, woman, homosexual, etc. disapproves of this gift, that person is ousted from the group by the group’s recipients. After all, a few naysayers have the potential to cut off the giving, so any other potential naysayers must be discouraged. Ostracism has potential to keep the others silent.

The bestowal of this new type of love is required from those who are perceived to be in a position of worldly power, but reciprocity is not required of the perceived powerless recipients of that “love.”

Additionally, and of the most importance, the new type of love has pride as its foundation. The “powerful” giver is proud to have given the gift and the “powerless” receiver is proud merely on the basis of group membership to have received that gift. No gratitude is required on the part of the latter. That group is only getting its just due.

It matters not if the giving will hurt the giver or the recipient. It doesn’t matter if the giving of said gift will hurt any aspect of society. It doesn’t even matter if the gift will wipe out the lineage of the recipient.  All that matters is that the recipient gets what s/he wants. (It’s interesting to note that the German word for the noun ‘poison’ is das Gift; the verb ‘to poison’ is vergiften. The last also means ‘to pollute.’)

Paul said that love (agape) is greater than faith and hope, so it follows that this type of true love and all the others were the first concepts to receive the Coconut Treatment — to be hollowed out and repackaged. Frankenlove –yet another form of lying.

Falsehood is a shape-shifter.

*My dad pointed out that there is a fourth type of biblically-described love: storge — familial love.

I made a pilgrimage to the former home and gravesite of two of my favorite rock ‘n’ roll performers: Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison.

Hendrix moved into 23 Brook Street in London in 1968, and two years ago, the bedroom and living room of the home have become a museum. Ironically, the legendary composer George Frideric Handel lived there more than 200 years earlier.

Hendrix, who apparently was delighted to find out that Handel had once lived nearby, insisted he had once seen the composer’s ghost step through the wall, describing the image as “an old guy in a nightshirt and gray pigtail.”

One reviewer noted about Hendrix’s third-floor rooms: “The kitchen was rarely used, with room service supplied by Mr Love’s, the restaurant downstairs, whose waiters carried regular orders of steak and chips, a bottle of Mateus rosé, and 20 cigarettes, up the narrow stairs. Nights were late and noisy, with the flat regularly filled to bursting with whichever musicians had been in that night’s club.”

His former girlfriend, who participated in the design of the museum, reportedly complained that the exhibit was too messy.

fullsizeoutput_604.jpegAfter his years in the U.S. Army, Hendrix was obsessively neat, she recalled. The bed may have been draped in hippyesque fabrics under a canopy made from an embroidered silk shawl but was meticulously made with hospital corners, and the pillows and cushions squared up.

Another room at the museum has a wall of album covers, and an index of the music played on the Bang & Olufsen turntable. Remnants from Hendrix’s own collection included a copy of Dylan’s Highway 61 Revisited stained with Hendrix’s blood from cutting his hand on a broken wine glass.

I may have been the only visitor who saw Jimi in concert, which was an amazing performance in 1969 when he played his iconic The Star Spangled Banner.

Morrison’s grave in Paris is one of the most frequently visited tombs in the world. Established in 1804 by Napoléon Bonaparte, the Pére-Lachaise Cemetery, where Morrison is buried, contains the remains of celebrated artists, writers, and musicians, including Edith Piaf, Max Ernst, and Oscar Wilde.

Morrison died July 3, 1971, under mysterious circumstances. His girlfriend and an acquaintance quickly arranged for the burial without an autopsy.

As a teenager in a rock ‘n’ roll band, I sang many of Jimi and Jim’s songs. I couldn’t resist a tribute to Morrison, with my rendition of Light My Fire.

Jimi and Jim could not escape their personal demons, but they left a body of work that endures decades later.

A very long time ago there was a “movement” to pass campaign finance reform.

We were told that there was a groundswell for this, that the people wanted this, that there would be a massive electoral cost for ignoring this. The reality however was quite different:

I’m going to tell you a story that I’ve never told any reporter,” Treglia says on the tape. “Now that I’m several months away from Pew and we have campaign-finance reform, I can tell this story.”

That story in brief:

Charged with promoting campaign-finance reform when he joined Pew in the mid-1990s, Treglia came up with a three-pronged strategy: 1) pursue an expansive agenda through incremental reforms, 2) pay for a handful of “experts” all over the country with foundation money and 3) create fake business, minority and religious groups to pound the table for reform.

“The target audience for all this activity was 535 people in Washington,” Treglia says — 100 in the Senate, 435 in the House. “The idea was to create an impression that a mass movement was afoot — that everywhere they looked, in academic institutions, in the business community, in religious groups, in ethnic groups, everywhere, people were talking about reform.”

This is from a videotape of a speech given after the law was safely passed, Mr. Tregila told of a scare he had when Geroge Will almost stumbled on the game:

“We had a scare,” Treglia says. “As the debate was progressing and getting pretty close, George Will stumbled across a report that we had done and attacked it in his column. And a lot of his partisans were becoming aware of Pew’s role and were feeding him information. And he started to reference the fact that Pew had played a large role in this — that this was a liberal attempt to hoodwink Congress.”

“But you know what the good news is from my perspective?” Treglia says to the stunned crowd. “Journalists didn’t care . . . So no one followed up on the story. And so there was a panic there for a couple of weeks because we thought the story was going to begin to gather steam, and no one picked it up.”

Of course the media didn’t care and as this law was more about making it easier to cut of GOP dollars while enabling Democrat dollars even if they DID know they would not have said a word. Jon Heinke wrote about this:

Sager’s 2005 story was a revelation to me at the time and it has continued to inform my understanding of how the left-wing political machine operates, domestically and internationally, up to the highest levels. Indeed, President Obama himself was a part of this, spending 8 years funding gun control and anti-2nd amendment research and advocacy as a Director of the Joyce Foundation.

And that brings us to DACA.

Before we start I will concede that our political foes have a point on DACA.  If a child came with their parents to the country illegally they were not in a position to either know the law or refuse which is the reason why I’m open to some kind of deal.

However the truth is there is no groundswell of support for the so called “dreamers” nationwide.

Gallup regularly polls on what the most important issue in the country is according to their pol and immigration (both legal and illegal) doesn’t crack the top three on their list

Americans named dissatisfaction with government as the most important problem facing the nation in 2017, the third time in the past four years that government has been at the top of the list. The second most frequently mentioned problem in 2017 was healthcare, followed by race relations, immigration, the need to unify the country, and the economy.

and it’s also worth noting that the only reason why “immigration” rakes as high as it does.  makes the top for is the 7% lists  immigration/illegal aliens as a single category lumping in those who believe illegal immigration is the #1 issue with those who believe amnesty is .

Democrats thought they were playing the old game and figured thanks to the MSM they would be able to frame the shutdown as a GOP problem and convince the congress that the public is up in arms over DACA, however the GOP is not longer led by suckers, they are led by Trump who knows the game that’s being played and didn’t fall for it.

No amount of base anger is going to make that difference when the Democrats know they need wins in specific districts for a shot at taking the house, this shutdown was a loser and you had better believe that Chuck and company saw polling that told them so.

That’s why they folded like a wet blanket, bluff will no longer get the job done, not with a guy in the White House that knows their game

This is going to be a fun year

Closing thought, If I was the GOP I’d encourage ultra liberals to primary democrats unwilling to shut down government over DACA.  The resulting sound bites would be gold come November.
