Back in 2003, when I started blogging, conservatives who are black were very popular. They (we) are now also, because we still are so few in relative numbers.

And, for the most part, we were and are regular citizens. Even the very popular Candace Owens, Diamond and Silk, and Terrance Williams – persons with eloquence and/or humor – began as everyday persons who used technology and their gifts to make their points and express their support for Donald Trump and for conservative ideas.

And this is what makes long-time Trump supporter Kanye West different from the rest of us who refuse to toe the Democrat line. His hip-hop composed platform was already built. All he had to do is climb up and begin to speak. In his case, mere agreement with Owens began an avalanche.

West is no conservative but doesn’t refute the ideology. Refreshingly, he says that he doesn’t know enough about being a conservative to call himself one. I’ve seen that he is getting an introduction to the mighty works of one Thomas F. Sowell. I’m going to suggest this as his starting point.

Many conservative observers have predicted that West will be pushed back into line, and, indeed, the attempts have already been made. A member of the Crips – that long-time terrorizer of law-abiding black and other Southern Californians — has warned West to stay out of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Or else. (West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, live in Calabasas, CA.)

And, Maxine Waters … well, read this:

Maxine Waters: “This one. Get him!”

Politico asked Waters, an outspoken critic of President Trump who advocates for his impeachment, to comment on the president’s recent “bromance with Kanye West.”:

“Kanye West is a very creative young man who has presented some of the most revolutionary material in the African-American community,” she replied. “But we also think that sometimes Kanye West talks out of turn and perhaps sometimes he needs some assistance in helping him to formulate some of his thoughts.”

She said West should think about the impact of his words and “maybe not have so much to say.”

“We don’t think that he actually means to do harm,” she added, “but we’re not sure he really understands the impact of what he’s saying, at the time that he’s saying it and how that weighs on, particularly the African American community — and for young people in general. … And I think maybe he should think twice about politics, and maybe not have so much to say.”

Waters represents the Organized Left; the Crips street and prison gang is one of its organic enforcement arms. And both are indicating something very important: Kanye West is dangerous to the Left. And, it seems that he’s just getting started.

I have been critical of – and cutting about — West and Kardashian West before and I probably will be again, but I have to thank him for having a brain in his head, for learning to use his platform wisely, and for his fearlessness. And whatever one thinks of Kardashian West, she has been doing what any good wife does: ferociously standing by her man.

Someone – Andrew Klavan, I think — once said that culture was a very important aspect of societal change. Well, the West family has certainly been a significant portion of popular culture; yes, most of it bad.

Funny thing about change, though. Sometimes it will happen in the least expected place, to the least expected person.

And, sometimes, it will make things better.

Finally might I suggest my book Hail Mary the Perfect Protestant (and Catholic) Prayer makes an excellent Gift.

A young Vietnamese man pulled out his phone and asked me if I knew about what was happening in Korea.

He passed the device to me where the presidents of North Korea and South Korea were meeting on the border between the two countries.

“I feel a lot safer now than I did a few minutes ago,” he told me in Lhasa, Tibet.

DaTech3.jpgFor many people, North Korean President Kim Jong-un is like the crazy uncle who you only see during the holidays. But many like the young Vietnamese man, Kim has loomed over the safety of the region.

Ironically, the Chinese press has spent little time talking about what other countries have labelled an important breakthrough.

In fact, Xinhua, the official government news agency, put the conclusion of a regional government conference as the lead story, with Korea down the list of news events. That story reported on the elimination of loudspeakers spouting propaganda from South Korea along the border, with a note that the Chinese foreign minister plans a visit to North Korea.

More important, The South China Morning Post, a somewhat independent news organization in Hong Kong, posed an awkward headline: “China could be excluded from peace talks.”

Zhang Liangui, a specialist on Korea at the Central Party School, which trains Communist Party officials, said Beijing’s policy on North Korea in recent years could see it excluded from the peace process.

“The stance of China’s foreign ministry has been that [the North Korean nuclear crisis] is none of its business and that North Korea and the U.S. should be communicating directly,” Zhang told The Post. “So now things are out of China’s control, and it is no surprise that it is being excluded from the discussions.”

A senior diplomat in Seoul told The South China Morning Post that both Koreas wanted to dilute Beijing’s influence over the peninsula.

It’s rather ironic since the Korean War was essentially a battle between China and the United States for influence in the region. Moreover, China was a signatory to the armistice that ended the war in 1953.

Whatever the case, those who live near North Korea breathed a significant sigh of relief when the two sides of the Korean conflict met for the first time in more than a decade.

Apparently Randy Bryce, a candidate for congress has not learned one of the basic rules of Democrats because he answered President Trump’s tweet with the truth.

One would think that this would not be a big deal, as a lot of far leftists have been talking like this for a while. But for the Democrats to achieve a majority, let alone generate their anticipated “big blue wave” they need to win seats in red states and districts and this requires them to follow the single most basic rule there is for the Democrat left when it comes to winning elections outside of NY and CA.

Never let American voters see Democrats as they are, or let them know what you plan to do.

It’s the reason why so many in media are so upset with the White House correspondents dinner and Michelle Wolf. She very publicly showed them for what they are before a national audience. Those who are claiming to be shocked or disappointing at her presentation are upset not about what she said, but about how what she said is going to play. As it was revealed a few weeks ago. Hillary Clinton used the “Deplorables” line all the time at fund raisers and at blue events that were either closed (or with media willing to protect her). It was only when she did so outside of those confines where the general public could hear it unfiltered that there was an issue.

Do you think for one moment that Conor Lamb would have won in Pennsylvania if he did not claim to be a pro-life candidate who would not interfere with either President Trump or the 2nd amendment instead of being the enabler of the left that he will be in office?

Why do you think the left works so hard to control media and culture? Without the filter the media creates or the mask that Hollywood provides American voters would run away from them in droves. It’s also why they are so upset when Trump is covered live. It’s hard to spin what the president says as something else when you’ve heard it directly from his month.

This has been a bad week for the left, potential peace in Korea, the revelations of Iran’s nukes by Israel, and Trumps wins in the Senate Nomination process, but for my money the worst thing that has happened for Democrat hopes in the fall has been Democrats and their media allies being seen as they are.
