What a Difference Trump Makes in a fight

Batman: No Joker, you’re playing the wrong game, the old game. Tonight you’re taking no hostages. Tonight I’m taking no prisoners.

When the history of Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation is written the single most critical sentence of the story will be the answer that Donald Trump gave to a reporter who asked if his name should be withdrawn after the last minute allegations brought up against him.

What a Ridiculous Question!

\

That answer encapsulates the difference between Donald Trump and the regular Washington Insiders.

The regular Washington insiders fear the media, fear the press and fear the left, they would have hedged, they would have been cautious and if a republican like say Mitt Romney was in the White House and reacted that way the Senate would likely have followed their lead in doing so played the game on the left’s terms.

Not President Donald Trump.

President Trump doesn’t fear the media and delights in keeping them on the defensive and because he leads from the front, Senate Republicans do not see the need to run in fear and thus the Democrat’s big bluff is going nowhere.

In fact it’s very likely that this will turn into yet another fiasco for the left as it will not only energize the right two months before an election where the GOP needs them to turn out but given the reactions we’ve seen it might even scare some moderates into thinking that they just might not want the type of people willing to do this kind of thing in power. In fact we might already have seen the first sign of this:

Voters elected political newcomer Pete Flores to the Texas Senate on Tuesday, flipping a Democratic district red for the first time in 139 years and bolstering Republicans’ supermajority in the chamber ahead of the November elections.

A retired game warden, Flores defeated former state and U.S. Rep. Pete Gallego for the Senate District 19 seat after receiving backing from some of the state’s most prominent politicians, including Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and U.S. Sens John Cornyn and Ted Cruz.

Hillary won this district by 12 points and the last time a Republican held it was during the Hays Administration Yet in a year when the Democrats are convinced that they will take a US senate seat in Texas from Ted Cruz then can’t hold a seat they’ve held since reconstruction?

Don’t tell me this Kavanaugh business had nothing to do with the result.

Like on DACA the Democrats are playing the old game and they are going to discover that the old rules of fear and intimidation just don’t work against this administration.

And I suspect that they are going to have a nasty surprise come November.

I can’t wait.

Closing thought, remember the only reason the Media can’t push their Kavanaugh message is because Trump has neutered them. I submit and suggest Without his war on the media the Kavanaugh nomination would be toast.

When the history of Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation is written the single most critical sentence of the story will be the answer that Donald Trump gave to a reporter who asked if his name should be withdrawn after the last minute allegations brought up against him.

What a Ridiculous Question!
