Democrats retaking the House would be a Pyrrhic Victory

This article is most likely hypothetical because it appears that the Republican Party’s chances of maintaining control of the House of Representatives have increased since the Justice Kavanaugh debacle, and the Senate was never really in play. I could be mistaken because most of the polls are unreliable and the media coverage is deeply biased.

I believe that if the Democrats do in fact win the House of Representatives, it would be the last Democrat victory on the national level for a very long time because of the outrageous way they would conduct business. How long would it take before the constant impeachment hearings and grandstanding would sour the stomachs of all but the most radical Democrats, yet alone Independents? This is exactly what the Democrats running for election have promised over and over again.

Democrats have repeatedly campaigned on doing away with the latest Republican tax cuts. If they succeed, will the American people be happy about having their paychecks shrink? Even attempting this would anger so many. The attempt alone would probably cause a massive drop in the stock markets. Succeeding would result in businesses cutting back on hiring, and there would be a great many layoffs.

I believe a majority of Americans would tire of the focus the Democrats would place on identity politics. This constant divisiveness would highlight the folly of treating everyone as a member of a collective group, rather than as a unique individual. The more radical and absurd incarnations of identity politics, toxic masculinity and white guilt, would not play well at all for the American people when they see it on display at the national level.

Undoing all of the deregulation accomplished by President Trump would shackle businesses with extremely costly red tape that would cost lots of jobs. If the Republicans handled the debate properly with this, the Democrats would pay a heavy price for the attempt.

If the Democrats succeeded with their push for Medicare for All, that would bankrupt America very quickly. Most Americans are already unhappy with ObamaCare. A push for Medicare for All will make that even worse, if the Republicans put up a good fight against it.

The radical open border agenda the Democrats will push upon taking the House will quickly make non-liberals unhappy. Pledges to build the wall and greatly curb illegal immigration are two of the issues that propelled President Trump to victory.

Socialism may be fashionable on college campuses and in deep blue states, however it is odious to those living in the heartland. After a short time the Democrat’s dramatic lurch towards socialism will cost them dearly if they take control of the House of Representatives. Because of the media bias, few who rely on mainstream media are aware how far to the left the Democratic party is now. It will be on full display if they take back the House.

I do believe if the Democrats take the House; it would be the last election they would win for a few decades because of their atrocious behavior and radical agenda, which has become extremely radical in the past decade. I don’t believe it will happen, but if it does, a Democratic victory in the House will be a blessing for the Republicans in the long run, if they have the smarts to capitalize on it.
