Non-Tweets Under the Fedora for Dec 13th: Harold Baines, Rep Swalwell, ¡No Pasaran! San Francisco and Abortion

¡It’s been a few days since Harold Baines has been elected to the Baseball HOF by committee and the articles keep coming about how he doesn’t belong.

I’m a small hall guy who thinks that if you have to think if a person belongs in a HOF fame they likely don’t but let me say this as a Red Sox fan who followed baseball closely during his career and watched him play against us regularly. The best qualification for Mr. Baines bar none is the fact that every time he came up as the tying or go ahead run or with that person on base I was worried.

With the right man on the mound I didn’t feel that way about Joe Carter, Albert Belle, Don Mattingly or Lou Pinella but no matter who was pitching I ALWAYS felt that way about Harold Baines and if you didn’t feel that way then you didn’t follow his career.

There is only one proper reaction to Rep Swalwell of CA saying he’s exploring a run for President: Who?

The most interesting and telling thing about this story about the wonderland that is Nancy Pelosi’s city is not Tim Blair’s phrase quoted at Instapundit

The only way to explain San Francisco is that someone thought it would be fun to assemble a ridiculous concentration of thieving Democrats then stood back to observe the result:

But the final four lines that Mr. Blair links:

Michelle Champawat, who lives in the Inner Richmond, said she was looking out her window Monday and saw a delivery man toss packages in front of three homes without ringing the doorbell.

She wasn’t sure whether to retrieve the packages and bring them into her home for safekeeping.

What if somebody thinks I’m stealing it?” Champawat said.

In this city? Hardly anyone would blink an eye.

Anyone surprised at this result has not been paying attention.

At ¡No Pasaran! Erik is in the streets of Paris (with photos) but explains the riots and the position of the people of France in one sentence:

WE ARE NOT MILCH COWS!

This story deserves a full post and I’ll get to it when I’m not working every single day

Finally if you want to find out what the end result of tossing away the quaint idea of making waiting till marriage for sex this is it:

An Indiana high school football player told investigators that he killed a 17-year-old schoolmate because he was angry that she waited so long to tell him she was pregnant with his child that it was too late to get an abortion,

Nothing says entitlement like the exception that you can have consequence free sex with a 17 year old, but that’s post Christian culture for you.

The most interesting and telling thing about this story about the wonderland that is Nancy Pelosi’s city is not Tim Blair’s phrase quoted at Instapundit

Nothing says entitlement like the exception that you can have consequence free sex with a 17 year old, but that’s post Christian culture for you.
