Non Tweets Under the Fedora for Dec 19th 2018 Climate Change Cash, Air BNB, Woman’s March, armed Teachers and Japanese Carriers

This piece at Town hall by Stephen Moore on Climate Change funding is a must read but the most important bit is the piece is this:

Now here’s the real scandal of the near trillion dollars that governments have stolen from taxpayers to fund climate change hysteria and research. By the industry’s own admission, there has been almost no progress worldwide in combatting climate change. The latest reports by the U.S. government and the United Nations say the problem is getting worse, and we have not delayed the apocalypse by a single day.

On the other hand if you consider that the goal of the climate change industry has always been $ for the right people and comfort for the right bureaucrats then the trillion dollars has been spent exactly as designed.

One of the oldest tricks used by Palestinian terrorists and their supporters has been to release one set of statements in English to the media and a 2nd to their supports in Arabic.  I guess that’s where Air BNB got this foolish idea from

What seems obvious, though hard to believe in 2018, is that Airbnb thought they could put out a statement to the Israeli press saying they were abandoning the policy and the rest of the world wouldn’t notice. Then they could go ahead and basically shadowban the Israeli users in the West Bank and impress their BDS friends back home in America. But we live in the internet era. Did they honestly think nobody would find out?

Have these people never heard of auto-translate?  if you want to see both versions their here.

Speaking of anti-Semites apparently Washington state’s Woman’s March chapter is disassociating itself from the National organization after the Tablet’s expose of them but for my money the real scandal was liked by Glenn Reynolds last week.

Nothing allows evil to take place more than the willing cooperation of the modern media

There is nothing like reality to cause people to face problems realistically

The panel investigating the Florida high school massacre recommended Wednesday that teachers who volunteer and undergo extensive background checks and training be allowed to carry concealed guns on campus to stop future shootings.
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission voted 13-1 to recommend the Legislature allow the arming of teachers, saying it’s not enough to have one or two police officers or armed guards on campus.

No word of if they’ll have Nunchucks too but given this ruling by a federal judge what else could they do?

A federal judge says Broward schools and the Sheriff’s Office had no legal duty to protect students during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom dismissed a suit filed by 15 students who claimed they were traumatized by the crisis in February. The suit named six defendants, including the Broward school district and the
Broward Sheriff’s Office, as well as school deputy Scot Peterson and campus monitor Andrew Medina.
Bloom ruled that the two agencies had no constitutional duty to protect students who were not in custody.

Think about that.  The police have a duty to protect the shooter if arrested but not the people he was trying to kill.  Welcome to post Christian America

Finally while the idea of the Japanese rebuilding a carrier force to counter Chinese expansion is logical as the son of a US Sailor who faced the Japanese in the Pacific during World War 2 the thought of a rearmed Japan with advanced carriers and top of the line jets doesn’t fill me with comfort particularly given that Japanese are a culture with a very long memory
