Non Tweets Under the Fedora 12-27-18 3rd Day of Christmas, Chocolate, Chinese, Workers, Groo and Doctor Who?

Today is the 3rd day of Christmas, which means it’s the day when I start raiding the chocolate that I picked up yesterday when CVS and everywhere else started discounting what didn’t sell. It’s a wonderful Christmas tradition that’s pleasing for the soul.

Christmas day my wife had to work so we went for Chinese food at Tang Dynasty. It’s still the best Chinese food in the Fitchburg Leominster area that people somehow have still not caught on to, although you woudn’t know it from the ringing phones. The lack of a buffet & lack of delivery are the likely culprits there but the keno keeps the bar full.

One should always thank the folks at Cumberland Farms, McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts who are working on Christmas. Thanks to them there is still milk for baking if you forget, coffee for the baker working hard to make treats and a warm inexpensive place to eat for those alone or poor or just want to get out. Just as the doctors, nurses and firemen working Christmas day are a gift to us so are they.

I was shocked to see that my boys bought me a bunch of old Groo comics for Christmas. I’m pretty sure I have them all buried somewhere but as they said it was for all the ones they destroyed over the years. Twenty to 35 years haven’t taken a bit away from the laugh out loud humor that Groo produces. Sergio Aragones ably assisted by Mark Evanier Stan Sakai (of Usagi Yojimbo fame) and Tom Luth work has stood the test of time well. If you’ve never read these comics get them and prepare to laugh.

Finally there was a time when Christmas wasn’t Christmas without a Doctor Who special, but while Christmas is still Christmas Doctor who isn’t apparently isn’t Doctor Who as the BBC has decided to replace the Christmas Special with a new year’s special which will be the only Doctor Who episode of 2019.

Given the short ten episode season and how the new “woke” female Doctor has been lionized by media this is quite a surprise. Why if I didn’t know better that their claims of this season being a tremendous success might be a tad empty, but radical feminists shouldn’t worry like the 1st Black president of the United States the 1st female Doctor Who will not be allowed to fail at least not in the eyes of our cultural betters.
