Ford has Chosen Now How Many Christians Like Me Will Make Different Choices?

He choose…poorly.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989

Jesus said,

“Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come.

Mark 10:2930

For a long time I’ve framed the whole argument against the Transgender movement this way: “If a person believes they’re Napoleon Bonaparte dresses and acts as such even to the point where they have themselves surgically altered to support their delusion, that’s their business, but the moment they try to compel me to say ” Vive L’Empereur ” whenever that person passes it becomes mine.

Well Ford has decided that their employees and contractors had better say “Vive L’Emperor” or else.

In October 2018, Ford Motor Company bragged about supporting a male engineer in his transition to a transgender identity. A contractor at a Michigan plant had the audacity to respond with a comment disagreeing with transgender identity. That very day, he was let go. Ford claims the company didn’t fire him, but the former contractor insisted otherwise in comments to PJ Media.

“Ford said that because of my comment and the intolerance that it represented (or so they accused me of) that my services to them would cease immediately,” the former contractor, who wished to remain anonymous, told PJ Media. “I was told this in an unscheduled 1 on 1 meeting with my boss and an HR representative. I was told to pack up my belongings immediately, to leave my badge and computer, then I was walked out of the building like a criminal.”

Ford doesn’t have anything to say to the press on the matter but their refusal to answer a particular question speaks volumes:

Neither Ford nor TPT responded to PJ Media’s questions regarding whether or not employees who disagree with transgender ideology would be welcome to work at their companies.

Think about that for a second, neither company was willing to state for the record that a person who disagrees with the Transgender ideology is welcome to work for them but the message is clear to any Ford Employee or contractor, disagree with the Trangender agenda, even in a way consistent with your religion and you are out the door.

In one respect this is no surprise, in an age where the Netherlands are considering prosecuting Christian Pastors for affirming their faith in writing and Franklin Graham is barred from facebook that a company like Ford would follow this route was coming but the Irony that Ford, a company that was made by marketing to the general public rather than elites has reached this point is rather amazing, but even more amazing is that a company whose business is made by the sale of Trucks has decide to take a decision that will without a doubt inform a large swath of their customer base that they’re religious beliefs are unfit for the company seems rather short sighted. But if Ford wants to put out the word that expressing an opinion completely consistent with mainstream Christianity since the beginning of time is beyond the pale to their company they can certainly do so.

And if Christians choose to buy their cars and Trucks elsewhere, we have the right to do so as well. For myself, there will not be another Ford, new or used, bought in this house while this continues.

May they be happy in the choice they have made.

Mark 10:29-30
