As Jesus Said, Blessed are you Boys of Covington High

I could write about my lack of shock at yet another MSM attack on Christians in General and pro-life Catholics in particular turns out to be false and contrived, or I could write about how so many people who should know better by now were so willing to jump on the MSM’s phony bandwagon to make sure that nobody accused them of not being fair.

Instead I’ll remind the good folks of Covington High School School of the words of Christ, first that this persecution is part of the job description of a faithful follower of Jesus:

If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.

John 15:1821

Furthermore while it is certainly correct to seek justice, it is also correct that you should rejoice at what Christ has promised:

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:1112

And remember Christ always keeps his promises. So rejoice and be exceedingly glad, but in your gladness don’t forget to pray for those who have persecuted you. That’s also part of the job description.

John 15:18-21

Furthermore while it is certainly correct to seek justice, it is also correct that you should rejoice at what Christ has promised:

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you (falsely) because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:11-12

And remember Christ always keeps his promises. So rejoice and be exceedingly glad, but in your gladness don’t forget to pray for those who have persecuted you. That’s also part of the job description.
