One week ago Kathy Tran’s (D-VA) abortion till the day of birth bill was came out of Virginia:
Gilbert: Where it’s obvious a woman is about to give birth, that she has physical signs that she is about to give birth. Would that be a point at which she could still request an abortion if she was so certified? She’s dilating.
Tran: Mr. Chairman, that would be a decision that the doctor, the physician, and the woman would make at that point.
Gilbert: I understand that. I’m asking if your bill allows that.
Tran: My bill would allow that, yes.
The next day Governor Northam (D-VA) on the radio, defending the bill and expanding the idea of abortion to the 4th trimester, that is after birth.
This was a big deal to folks like me but the MSM decided it was not a national story, and all over capital hill folks from Nancy Pelsoi to a dozen senators never heard of it
For a journalist who considers his first duty to a political cause, though? Perfectly responsible gatekeeping. The question to be asked about Rodgers’s tweet above isn’t really why Democrats in Congress won’t comment on Northam, it’s why only a reporter from a right-wing site like the Daily Caller seems to have tried tracking down Democrats for comment and found it remarkable that so many somehow missed yesterday’s news. If a Republican governor was pushing legislation as morally abhorrent as Northam or Andrew Cuomo in New York, Cruz, Rubio, and Sasse couldn’t turn a corner in the Capitol without running into a journalist eager to pin them down on it.
Which is to say, our media is very deep in the tank on this issue, even more so than they are for most left-wing causes. We’re all long used to it. But occasionally the depth still manages to shock.
And it looked like the MSM was going to memory hole this 4th trimester abortion debate.
Then came the photos
Now suddenly it became impossible for the left to pretend that Gov Northam (D-VA) didn’t exist. He was front page news everywhere and even more suddenly his comments about abortion, even after birth, were being broadcast. Even the president mentioned it
Democrat Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia just stated, “I believe that I am not either of the people in that photo.” This was 24 hours after apologizing for appearing in the picture and after making the most horrible statement on “super” late term abortion. Unforgivable!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2019
Now just a few minutes ago I just say Jake Tapper, playing the radio clip on SOTU questioning Terry McAuliffe on Gov Northam (D-VA) who was his Lt Gov and bringing up this abortion bill and McAuliffe publicly denouncing it. and shortly afterwards had one of his guests go on about this bill. That didn’t go over well for the NARAL lady on the panel who denounced him and denied Gov Northam (D-VA) said what Tapper had just shown.
None of this is possible without the yearbook photos, which somehow all the opp research missed during the election but came out just in time to illustrate just how far the murder of children is now being pushed in America.
As it says in the title of this post. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
