Normally of course a school shooting is something that the left wants to embrace in order to advance their agenda. Every single such event leads to long extended coverage for weeks and the desire for “conversation” however the shooting at the Colorado STEM school has quickly become to the MSM and the left an event best forgotten.
It all starts with having the wrong shooters:
To begin with, according to various news reports, Maya McKinney is the most inconvenient suspected school shooter of them all, a trans activist, a biological girl who says she is transitioning into a boy.
And Devon Erickson, well, he is real bad news for a media who have spent years demonizing traditional Christians and right-of-center Americans as Nazis because Erickson appears to have taken all that hate to heart. According to reports, Devon is a registered Democrat who hates President Trump, loves Barack Obama, and has used social media to express his hatred of Christians.
In other words in any other setting these two shooters would be celebrated media darlings and lionized by every commentator on their sets. Is there anything worse for the Media/Left’s cultural narratives than these two people being the shooters?
Why yes there is
The father of one of the alleged STEM School Highlands Ranch shooters in Colorado is a serial felon and illegal immigrant from Mexico, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Jose Evis Quintana, the father of alleged 16-year-old killer Alec McKinney was once jailed for 15 months for domestic violence against Alec’s mother and ‘menacing with a weapon’.
McKinney has been charged alongside his friend Devon Erickson of killing one student and injuring eight others at the school close Denver, Colorado.
Records show Quintana, 33, who was also deported twice, had a string of arrests in the Colorado dating back from 2008 to 2017.
So the father of the Transgender shooter is a twice deported illegal alien with a history of violence vs women. This is the mother lode of trouble for the left, as Stacy McCain put it:
Now that we know one of them was the daughter/“son” of an illegal alien, this story will be memory-holed so deep you might get banned from social media if you mention it. Feminists will ignore it, for some reason.
But it’s even worse, than that because during the attempted mass shooting at least some of the students rather that running away and waiting to be victims decided to go down fighting:
Castillo died trying to stop one of the armed suspects from firing, allowing his classmates to escape. He was one of several students whose heroic actions prevented further carnage.
When a shooter walked into a classroom, three students including Castillo tried to take down the gunman, “CBS This Morning” reported. Student Nui Giasolli told “Today” that Castillo’s actions gave the rest of her British Literature class time to get underneath their desks and then run across the room to flee safety. Castillo was killed and eight others were wounded in the shooting.
It’s true that his heroics provides a narrative other than the shooters grievances but when you compare this young man to students that the media celebrate, who declare themselves triggered by pronouns it does more damage to their cultural goals than the shooters sharing the left’s narrative.
Finally if all of this wasn’t enough to kill this story, the left’s attempt to politicize a memorial for the dead hero backfired spectacularly.
The organizers didn’t include any students as speakers. Instead of making it about Kendrick and the students, the message was clearly anti-gun. As the politicians started in with a call for gun control, students began filing out. They shouted their demand for mental health reform, not gun control.
So into the memory hole it goes never to be spoken of again even when the trials come up because thanks to 3rd DaTechGuy’s Law of Media Outrage which undoubtedly be considered a local story of no national interest.
