Pramila Jayapal on being a Democrat: No Faithful Catholic Need Apply

Democrat Rep Pramila Jayapl (D-Washington) decided to state explicitly something that I figured out a long time ago that if you are pro-life the Democrat Party doesn’t want you.

“You can’t say you’re a Democrat if you’re against immigrants, if you’re against abortion, if you’re against gay marriage and LGBTQ rights. I’m not sure what it means to be a Democrat if all of those things are true.”

Cripes I figured this out a quarter century ago before Representative Jayapal opened her mouth. It’s why a lot of people like me left in the 1st place as I told a group of DC transit workers I was interviewing during my 1st CPAC in 2010 who suddenly turned the tables when I asked them why they were Democrats and they asked me why I was a republican and gave this answer:

I’m sure Nancy Pelosi and a lot of Democrat party chairs in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Minnesota and New Hampshire are pulling their hair out at the moment however I’m sure that the Democrats will make it clear that they while you can’t be a Democrat if you are pro-life they’ll happily still take your vote and/or your money.

If I’m Donald Trump I’m tweeting this out every single day and if I’m the RNC I’m running ads on a loop in all of those states along with Texas Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. And I’m especially running ads in Spanish for all the faithful Catholics so Democrats know what they think of them and their faith.

And I just can’t wait to hear the GOP ads in arabic saying to the Muslims that Democrats think are the future of the party that they have to embrace gay marriage or get out.

Closing thought: On a unrelated matter I was thinking about that old interview. I’d be very interested in talking to those same guys 10 year later to see what they thought of the Obama years and the Trump years to this point.
