Yup they still hate her:

Palin, however, has done nothing remotely like what these other political ner-do-wells have done. She did not take bribes, she did not indulge in sexual dalliances with co-workers or call girls, she did not get booted from her party or lose her job as Governor. She is not under indictment nor does she face jail time, yet CNN includes her in a list with Rob Blagojevich, John Edwards, Kwame Kilpatrick, Larry Langford, Tim Maloney, Elliot Spitzer and Ted Stevens.

Gretta Van Susteren is outraged:

CNN thinks Governor Palin is like these guys? one of these guys? is that fair? Let’s KEEP CNN HONEST…is this right? post your comment…

The comment area is now gone but blog after blog after blog have weighed in. Resulting in her removal from the list but no acknowledgment of it.

CNN forget that the net never forgets. This type of edit without a correction is Bad form. I’ll say it again; God they must hate her!

In this post I made a rather provocative assertion when explaining why 65,000 civilian deaths dead in the fight against the Tamil-Tigers provoked no protest on the left as opposed to Israel and Gaza:

How could this be? Simple answer. If you can’t blame Jews or Americans, then its not evil or important. Why? Because their final goal is dead Jews. Period.

In is column today, Jay Nordlinger may have a better explanation:

During the Cold War, we used to speak of anti-anti-Communists. These were people (on the left) who were not exactly pro-Communist. But they so hated the anti-Communists, they were . . . well, anti-anti-Communists — the best, the fairest name for them.

Today, there are anti-anti-Islamofascists. They are not on the Islamofascist side in the War on Terror. But they hate those who are fighting, or attempting to fight, the Islamofascists more than they could ever hate the Islamofascists. They are anti-anti-Islamofascists.

The similarities between yesterday’s anti-anti-Communists and today’s anti-anti-Islamofascists would make a very good essay — perhaps by David Pryce-Jones or Norman Podhoretz. Of course, many of today’s anti-anti-Islamofascists were yesterday’s anti-anti-Communists — I mean, the same people, in the flesh.

And it’s all embodied in a publication such as The New York Review of Books.

That is a much more charitable explanation, I’ll have to think on it.

He also touches on another quote I made during the first week of this blog.

You can take this to the bank: Any successful attack on American soil during an Obama administration is going to be wholly owned by not only that administration but the Democratic party.

Here is Nordlinger:

A wise Republican head said to me the other day, “I actually think Obama is going to have a hard time of it.” Here was his reasoning: “Two things Bush has done right are Iraq (after the surge) and preventing a second attack. Those are big achievements to live up to — especially if you don’t believe there is any connection between the president’s means and these ends.

This goes to the heart of the Arthur vs Carter question. Anyway its another reason why Nordlinger should be regular reading for you.

As for yesterday’s anti-anti Communists as today’s anti-anti-Islamofascists; I guess they are fooled twice. Shame on them.

There has been talk that with the rise of blogs, YouTube, twitter, facebook etc, that Matt Drudge doesn’t matter.

Yesterday Drudge reported that Ann Coulter was banned from NBC. Within a few hours NBC has denied it and today Drudge reports that NBC is re-thinking things.

Hotair reported on this yesterday, but I think the Allahpundit might have it pegged last night:

Radical countertheory: They booked her intending to cancel but also fully intending to invite her back, knowing that Drudge could be relied on to hype the “controversy” so that her raincheck appearance would do huge ratings. Exit question: Was she in on it or not?

Two python moments in one day!

I can’t find the clip but Morning Joe is reporting that Roland Burris is apparently saying he has Jesus on his side to be the junior senator from Illinois.

If this is true apparently he is an idiot.
If this is not true I will edit the post accordingly

This however doesn’t change the fact that he is legally appointed to the seat and should be seated.

P.S. Admit it you thought this was an Al Franken Post when you read the title didn’t you?

Update: Apparently the quote was slightly different:

Burris, in turn, has gone to court hoping to win an order for White to sign the necessary paperwork, and has also threatened to sue to take his seat in the Senate.

“We are hoping and praying that they will not be able to deny what the Lord has ordained,” Burris said Sunday night.

What an idiot!

Hat tip Newsbusters.

Update 2: Joe and Mika are having much too much fun with this.

Here is an interesting story:

The jets bombed the bejeebers out of them. The ground forces invaded. They at long last suppressed the terrorists, who had conducted a long campaign of suicide bombing and planting bombs, and put an end to any notion that the terrorists and their sponsors would be granted their own state.

Many civilians were killed and wounded…

Well this sounds like something massive protests must be going on about, people against violence must have shrieked loudly. Or not.

not a single Solidarity-with-the-Tamil-Tigers protest has been organized on a single Western campus or in a single downtown square. Mobs and “academics” have not taken to the streets to demand an end to the war of aggression against the Tamils. Leftist web sites have not proclaimed every injury of a Tamil civilian to be a Nazi-like war crime and an act of genocide.

Eurocrats have not pontificated about how the Sri Lankan response to the terror was out of proportion. The International Solidarity Movement has not sent in protesters from the West to try to defend the terrorists. Communists and fellow travelers have not organized flotillas of boats carrying aid to the terrorists. Israeli politicians have not lectured the Sinhalese of Sri Lanka about how the whole problem is that they are insensitive to the needs of the “Other.”

None have proposed dividing Colombo and handing over half to the Tamils. Virtually no one knows that 65,000 civilians have died in the fighting and the media have no interest in covering the story.

How could this be? Simple answer. If you can’t blame Jews or Americans, then its not evil or important. Why? Because their final goal is dead Jews. Period.

Update 5: That answer is a pretty strong generalization and maybe too simple. Perhaps it should be simply be said that they are indifferent to dead Jews.

To steal one of Glenn’s phrases: They’re not anti-war, they’re just on the other side.

Update: An anti-war protest just isn’t an anti-war protest without rocket and grenades is it?

Update two: Jay Nordlinger provides a less provocative suggestion that has some merit. Still this doesn’t explain why dead Jews don’t rate a batted eyelash. It also doesn’t explain why many of the protests call for death to the Jews. If I was involved in a protest against militant Islam and a Neo Nazi group wanted to march with me it would be considered incumbent on me and rightly so, to renounce and exclude them. For some reason this requirement never seems to be given to the left when they march with people who desire dead Jews.

Some examples here and here:

While the Arabs screamed their desire to exterminate Jews, the English-monolingualists simply stood there happily smiling their approbation. The correct pronunciation may have been beyond them, but they approved of the sentiment. Which is proven by their resolute continued presence and solidarity.
No, they do NOT have plausible deniability – the ‘river to the sea’ slogan shows that they wish for a genocide against Israel, and translations of the Arabic slogans have been provided so many times that they cannot claim ignorance of the meanings.
Besides, the angry Middle-Eastern Jew-hater with a bullhorn, and the rabid white chick with an equally loud bullhorn and a grating voice, made plain in great detail what the peace movement’s plan for Israel and the Jews entails, as did the numerous threats and insults directed at our side by both Arabs and Anglos.

Also here and here.

And comments like this at Kos the big site for the left.

And no protests for statements from Hamas like this:

The Hamas leader called to murder Israelis and Jews worldwide, including children. “The Israelis have sentenced their children to death… They have legitimized the killing of their people all over the world,” he said. Hamas’ platform calls for all Jews to convert to Islam or be killed,

Where is the left denouncing this? I don’t see it.

Update 3 Don’t forget this protest in Holland where they are shouting “Jews to the Gas.”

Jew hatred is centuries old and frankly is not rational. Why would rational people on the left not loudly decry it?

Update 4 The left can of course prove me wrong.

Michelle Malkin who like Don Suber was a reporter before the days of blogs has a rather comprehensive list of original reporting done by bloggers over the last year:

Well, over the weekend, a few bloggers on both the left and right perpetuated an ill-informed and self-serving myth that demands debunking. The myth is that conservative bloggers don’t do reporting.

For various reasons, the incredible amount of investigative online reporting published on conservative blogs in just the last year alone has gone largely uncredited. Let’s fix that here and now.

The list is MUCH too long to quote here, just go and read the whole thing. via Hotair which was also a creation of Michelle Malkin.

Ok we know the New York Times is tanking in value. You need to somehow increase readership, where do you advertise?

Why MSNBC of course! Although I think the Morning Joe audience is likely to be less excited by the prospect then the views of the rest of the lineup.

Update: Massive Irony alert. Do you remember this:

I can’t think of the New York Times without thinking of my favorite writer Glenn Reynolds. Of course he is not a professional writer but a law professor who blogs for at Instapundit I am one of his many blog children. I never forget that when I started reading him in 2001 he used to have a quote on the top of his page saying “The New York Times of Bloggers.” I remember when he removed from his site thinking its absence enhanced his reputation.

The day the New York Times can call itself the Instapundit of Newspapers is the day its stock will not be tanking, its building will not need to be mortgaged and will be worth reading again.

I just went to Instapundit and saw an ad for subscriptions to the New York Times. That the times hopes to improve it’s bottom line by advertising with Glenn brings a huge smile to my face.

At the Huffington Post Martin Lewis hits the bulls eye:

The English have claimed that they are merely retaliating against the V-1 flying bombs being launched indiscriminately by Nazis at their civilian population in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Coventry and other cities. The English point out that their enemy is sworn to its utter destruction and has used the missiles and flying bombs against its civilians without any regard to English loss of life. Moreover it makes the case that their own bombing missions are specifically directed to military targets that the German army has intentionally planted in the heart of civilian populations to try and deter English counter-attacks.

These points may of course be true – but they are utterly besides the point.

Of course England has a right to exist. Of course England has a right to defend itself. But it should ensure that its responses are PROPORTIONATE.

Since many more Germans are dying than English – the English should either tone down the success and accuracy of their bombing – or allow the Germans to catch up on the death count.

This story was a huge surprise to me:

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, tapped in December by President-elect Barack Obama to serve as secretary of Commerce, has withdrawn his name for the position, citing a pending investigation into a company that has done business with his state.

The captain raises a very good point:

That Richardson would accept the nomination and then withdraw under these circumstances says something about how uncomfortable this scandal will get.

When this first started coming out I didn’t think anything would come of it.

I’m remembering how Richardson was the first of the Clinton people to go with Obama.

Here is the public one:

I can’t help but think of yesterday’s party. I had two guests standing next to each other, one a strong conservative and one a liberal (both great people) my conservative friend theorized that the Clintons would bring Obama down for 2012. My liberal friend took exception to it.

Maybe the president elect is too smart for this stuff, but I’m sure Mr. and Mrs. Clinton remember the clips above fondly. Is this a coincidence? Who knows?

All I know for sure is that the Governor of New Mexico doesn’t apparently have the gall of either of Governor of Illinois or the former president.
