Burried in a pretty good roundup of the Democratic meetings on Anthony Weiner at Hotair is this question from Allahpundit:

I’m confounded by her claim that she didn’t reciprocate any of Weiner’s sexual overtures in their chats. She has no reputation to protect so there’s no obvious reason for her to lie, but she’s also been known to say — publicly — “I want to have sexual relations with Anthony Weiner” and “He can get buck wild anytime I’m around.”

Ace has the same things to say:

Before you say that’s BS — she really doesn’t have a terribly strong reason to lie. She’s a porn actress. She doesn’t have a reputation for sexual modesty to protect.

You have to remember something, the difference between a porn actress and a prostitute is marketing. Both are paid to have sex with assorted men and/or women, but a porn star does it in front of a camera to market for a global audience.

The difference between a street corner or a spot in Ladd’s Commercial is her ability to market a sexual persona to men who buy her videos or subscribe to her web site etc etc etc…Her “He can buck wild anytime I’m around” stuff was part of that, but when Weiner bought the marketing, thought she meant it, and she shut him down.

“Porn Star” is what she does when she is on the clock. It’s not her hobby or what she does on her days off. If you believe it is then you are falling for the marketing. It brings to mind this exchange from All in the Family with Sammy Davis Jr.

This exchange starts at :35

Archie : Sam where are you flying out to tonight, Las Vegas Maybe?

Sammy Davis Jr: No I have a TV special to do in Hollywood.

Archie: Orrr Gee that’s beautiful yea! Well er while your hanging around, maybe could you give us a little preview, one of the songs you’re gonna do?

Gloria: Dadddy Mr. Davis makes his living entertaining , you’re asking him to go to work

Mike: Yeah Arch how would you like to be a guest in someone’s house and they say: “C’mon Arch do some packing and lifting for us.”

Weiner started following her for the same reason any guy was following her. I’ll wager a bunch of guys tweet her. The only difference between them and Weiner is he was in a position to get a tweet back.

Update:
I wrote this at 8 a.m. this morning, reports are now coming out that Weiner will resign today. Apparently he can take hits from the DCCC and the congress but when you’ve lost Ginger Lee you’ve lost your seat. 2 p.m. presser is scheduled.

Update 2:
Stacy McCain reminds us of the timeline.

For the first 10 days, Weiner lied, lied, lied, and the liberals who believed Weiner were wrong, wrong, wrong, while conservatives were right, right, right. In the past 10 days, since Weiner’s June 6 press conference, liberals have tried to forget that their credulity in believing Weiner’s lies, and the idiotic conspiracy theories they proffered in his defense.

Now is the day when Jeffrey Toobin, Joan Walsh and a lot of other liberals must be called to account.

and apparently Gennette Cordoba has decided to resign as well…from Twitter.

Do you remember when we were told this was a non-story and a Breitbart invention?

Every now and again Stacy will throw a zinger at Allahpundit for never linking to him and I tend to smile. Allah’s mistrust of all things Palin annoys me but it never was a big deal one way or the other.

Well the clip that Stacy posted & the interview I shot at the Marty Lamb / Jim McGovern debate seems to have become the talk of the conservative town at the Gunn event many where talking about it. You would think that it would rate a link from allahpundit.

It did rate a link, to RCP:

Via RCP. At Reason, Jacob Sullum is on the money:

Cripes even Wikipedia got a link instead of Stacy and Stacy was THERE.

I’ve got nothing against RCP but next time Stacy comment on how Allah won’t link to him or to HIS story. I’m going to listen.

…the idea that Mike Castle was a better chance to retain that seat is a legitimate opinion and I have absolutely no problem with anyone

Please don't hinder the Axis of Fedora! (photo Sissywillis pulled from video by RS Mccain)
who thinks that and maintains that opinion.

Charles Krauthammer, the Powerline Guys, Allahpundit, Patterico, Ace, Karl Rove et/al are allies. They have been allies before and I will be very happy to have them as allies again.

But the primary is over, the choice is clear. A Marxist democrat to the LEFT of Barack Obama or Christine O’Donnell. That is no choice at all.

If you don’t want to help win that race in Delaware that’s fine, there are hundreds of deserving GOP candidates running that I’d love to see you write about, talk about and gin up support for (cough Bill Gunn Ma-1 cough) and I’d be thrilled to link to you as you do.

But for God’s sake guys if you aren’t going to help us, don’t try to hurt us.

btw William Jacobson had the same thought as me at the same time but adds an apropos Lombardi quote on a Football sunday:

“The object is to win fairly, by the rules – but to win.”

Exactly.

Not because he supports Castle over O’Donnell, that’s just us disagreeing. And the headline is a whole lot better than the Huff Po version (kudos to Allah there). I take exception to this:

When the press comes to them the day after the election demanding to know why “the tea party” would hand a rubber-stamp Senate seat to Barack Obama,…

and later

She’ll probably get a bump and be within single digits after winning the primary, but once the Democrats’ negative ads roll out and the local press really goes to work, it may settle at an eight to 10 point lead.

Now make sure you read the context, he provides plenty and some of his analysis is pretty good but I have two issues with this stuff.

#1. The idea that an O’Donnell can’t win or is causing the GOP to forfeit the seat is not only foolish but harmful. O’Donnell couldn’t win the Del primary until she suddenly could. You win elections by…trying to win elections. You advance the conservative narrative by supporting candidates that support the conservative narrative, some guy on the radio named Limbaugh keeps saying that but we all know that he is just a flash in pan.

#2. If the liberal challenger on the democratic side was so impressive why did he not have a prayer against Castle? Why aren’t we hitting this guy instead of going on about how invincible he is? That is a self fulfilling prophecy.

This is the type of thing that loses races. If the race is lost in Delaware is won’t be because of O’Donnell’s it will be due to the GOP elevating her opponent while tearing her down. This will cost the GOP votes and cash from conservatives.

I do want to back him however on this statement, and those of us who support O’Donnell’s candidacy need to take this next section to heart:

(I know, I know: Chris Christie, Jim Geraghty, John McCormack, Patterico, Jay Cost, Guy Benson, Dan McLaughlin, the Powerline guys, Ace and his co-bloggers, me, and every other righty who’s grudgingly supporting Castle were only pretending to be sympathetic to the tea party before.)

These guys just happen to be wrong this time, they are not foes of the republican party, or the tea party and don’t spent their free time in clandestine puppy kicking clubs hidden under subway stations (Although Ace does bar-tend there on the side).

I will be very happy to have each one of them as an ally on the other 94% of the issues that we agree on and you should too.
