The Big Bang Theory The Cooper-Hofstadter Polarization 2007

Yesterday I talked about how the omnibus spending package was the GOP attempting to depress their own base before a critical election. The GOP with this bill basically stood before their base and pointed to the Democrats saying: “Yeah we screwed you over on all the priorities that we promised BUT THEY’RE WORSE.

Thus did the GOP discourage their base, meaning that all the Democrat left needed to do was avoid alerting said base to the dangers of electing them, by for example, a large public spectacle pushed by all the major networks and sports leagues pushing for the stripping of their constitutional rights, and they had it made.

Alas they just can’t help themselves.

You couldn’t even escape this stuff on ESPN.  I was at lunch yesterday and they were pushing this stuff.

I can’t think of anything that is more likely to cause the GOP base in general and fans of the 2nd amendment in particular to get involved than this stuff pushed in their faces reminding them what is at stake in this next election.

If I was a GOP candidate in any swing state I’d be using clips from this event to run ads in my district.  In NH where gun control is a bad issue for the left I’d be continually pushing the two congressional democrats representing the state to either embrace or disavow the so called”march for your lives” message.

This is exactly what the GOP needs to energize their base, all the GOP and their candidates have to do is be smart enough to take advantage of it….

…uh oh!

Finally might I suggest my book Hail Mary the Perfect Protestant (and Catholic) Prayer makes an excellent Gift.

I want to bring to your attention 4 stories that all add up to one thing concerning the left’s Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Item: The Return of Democrat Astroturf:

Headline: Obama PACs Bus Protesters To GOP Town Halls

Political action committees that fundraised for President Barrack Obama during the 2012 presidential election, bused protesters to Republican town hall events nationwide earlier in February, according to a Sunday report from The Washington Post.

Democrats nationwide continue to search for ways to oppose President Donald Trump after the 2016 election, and they are digging deep into funding from years ago. An unnamed pro-Obama super PAC organized protests at several town halls, going so far as busing protesters outside the member’s districts.

Because nothings says “grassroots anger” like political PACS sending people to meetings to generate anger.

Item:  The Shadow President

Headline: How Obama is scheming to sabotage Trump’s presidency

In what’s shaping up to be a highly unusual post-presidency, Obama isn’t just staying behind in Washington. He’s working behind the scenes to set up what will effectively be a shadow government to not only protect his threatened legacy, but to sabotage the incoming administration and its popular “America First” agenda.

He’s doing it through a network of leftist nonprofits led by Organizing for Action. Normally you’d expect an organization set up to support a politician and his agenda to close up shop after that candidate leaves office, but not Obama’s OFA. Rather, it’s gearing up for battle, with a growing war chest and more than 250 offices across the country.

If Trump is supposed to be the Dictator how come Obama is scheming to keep power?

Item: The Things that Worry Rich Liberals

Headline: Trump ties to Upper East Side school stirs moms

Upper East Side moms are having a spirited online debate over whether to boycott a school where a grandchild of President Trump is a student.

One of the anonymous contributors to said her son had gotten into Buckley [School], but she didn’t want to send him there because a son of Donald Trump Jr.’s (likely 4-year-old Spencer Frederick) is said to be going to kindergarten there in the fall.

“They will be in the same classroom and I don’t think I can deal with this. Birthday parties, etc.,”…A third mother wrote: “You almost have to decline. It sounds like it will drive you crazy . . . You want to spend nine years worried that DS [darling son] is getting infected with Trumpism?”

I’ll let Doctor Stephanie Barnett handle this one

These people never left high schools intellectually did they/

Item: Chanting: We are the .011%!

Headline Hundreds gather in Washington Square Park to rally against Trump’s policies

Manhattan — Hundreds gathered in Washington Square Park to criticize Mayor de Blasio and city council members for their continued support for broken windows policing.

Rally organizers of this Immigrant-led coalition claimed that while the Trump administration steps up their war on immigrants, the city has yet to take any concrete action to live up to the city’s sanctuary status.

“We are calling on New York City to be a real sanctuary city,” Karina Garcia, a rally organizer, told PIX11 News. “We want a sanctuary city for all immigrants and people of color. No more arrests under broken windows policing.”

A reminder, New York has a population estimated at 8.5 million and they drew HUNDREDS!

What do these stories have in common, they show that loudest opposition to Donald Trump is basically fake news.

Think about it, Donald Trump is so unpopular that in order to draw people opposed to his policies to town halls it’s necessary to have Super Pacs buss them in and have the ex president of the United States political machine help coordinate attacks.

Furthermore in NYC where Donald Trump managed only 18% of the vote (2,229,537 to 494,548) The 2,229,537 are so outraged that a whole .044% of them showed up to rally against him in the largest city in the United States (and that doesn’t take into account all the surrounding cities they could have drawn protests from .

But more importantly it’s story #3. The private school story that tells the tale. The real opposition to Trump, the opposition that’s getting press is, in my opinion from rich white liberals who, unlike folks who have been living paycheck to paycheck or have seen their real wages drop, have reached a point in their lives where the only real difficulties in life are the ones in their own minds.

Put Simply to steal a phrase from the great Evan Sayet who has them pegged, it’s a revolt from the Kindergarden of Eden and if we had an honest media it would be treated as such.

Which is why it is not

Screwtape:  We are tempted to say that such souls — or such residual puddles of what once was soul — are hardly worth damning. Yes, but the Enemy (for whatever inscrutable and perverse reason) thought them worth trying to save. Believe me, He did.

Saturday Evening Post Screwtape Proposes a Toast 1959

There are a lot of people weighing in RFK Jr’s diary that somehow got into the hands of the NY Post.

While the entries of Cuomo, Sharpton and Jackson are getting their fair share of chuckles he is being hit the hardest for the dichotomy of his celebration of and “Catholic” guilt toward sexual sin.

Everyone one of us has seen celebs make the circuit of the talk shows talking about how they’ve “rehabilitated” themselves and we’ve seen TV preachers tearfully asking forgiveness in the hopes that the money will still keep pouring in.

And lets not forget the entire history of the men of the Kennedy clan going back decades.  When you read about RFK Jr. angst over sin it’s very easy to take one look at this and give snort of derision at the very concept that sex with multiple beautiful women bothers him.

I think there is a lot more to this that meets the eye.

First:  It wasn’t an act.  This wasn’t a public statement, this was a private diary.  When he was writing about sin, about fighting it, about hating it he was talking not to Ellen or Oprah or Katie he was talking to himself.

Second:  He didn’t pretend he wasn’t sinning.  The first step in fighting sin, any sin is the willingness to acknowledge that it is sin.  In this step alone Kennedy Jr. is already ahead of Andrew Sullivan or Nancy Pelosi who both insist that things that are clearly sin are not.

Third:  You can see the fight for that soul.  This is very Catholic.  If he was part of a protestant denomination that believes in “Once saved always saved” he would be worry about it very little.  After all God has already guaranteed him heaven so there is nothing to worry about.  No Kennedy is worried for his soul, his  entries talks about the fight against this sin and the acknowledgement of God and prayer during the times when he does manage to resist.

He wants that kingdom of heaven but simply isn’t strong enough and it tortures him

Finally:  He is in an impossible situation:  This is easy to laugh at but consider the first rule of avoiding sin is to remove yourself from situations where you might be tempted.

RFK’s sin is without question sex.  So naturally the best thing to do is to avoid the presence of willing women who might tempt him.  Good luck with that.

This guy’s life involves  contact with people publicly and privately.  Even if he didn’t have wealth & looks he is a Kennedy.  That means women, beautiful desirable women that most guys could only dream of see him with curiosity, fascination hoping for lightning to strike or a meal ticket and is life didn’t put him in such a position such women would seek him out.

He could no more avoid temptation than a programmer with a porn addiction.

Kennedy’s goal is clearly heaven and while we can scoff, laugh or even envy him this “problem” the only thing a Christian who does so accomplishes is to embrace the sin of pride. As Christ told us:

“Two people went up to the temple area to pray; one was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector. The Pharisee took up his position and spoke this prayer to himself, ‘O God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of humanity – greedy, dishonest, adulterous – or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, and I pay tithes on my whole income.’

But the tax collector stood off at a distance and would not even raise his eyes to heaven but beat his breast and prayed, ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’ I tell you, the latter went home justified, not the former; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Luke 18:10-14

Heaven will not lose any of its luster if people we disdain join us, nor will Hell be any more bearable if we all burn together.

As anyone knows I’m not a big fan of Elizabeth Warren politically (I’ve never met the lady, I’ve heard she’s rather nice rather nice person) and I certainly don’t support her for Senator. But while I’m amused by the grief she is getting over the lilly-white photo lets point out a few things:

  • It’s the middle of Summer younger people in college or high school have free time
  • The Unemployment rate is high, it’s even higher among the young and even higher among young people of color
  • I doubt the Elizabeth Warren Campaign (or any campaign) would turned away a young person of color who volunteered

Now I would submit and suggest that the whole dependency culture message of the Democrats should naturally turn off minorities, the whole condescending: “You can’t make it without me and the Government” business is a thumb in the eye while the GOP message of: “You can do it and we’ll get Government out of the way” is one of confidence.

However I am led to believe that there area fair number of of people of color who disagree with me here and overwhelming support the left, but his picture doesn’t suggest it.

The success of the Tea Party electorally is due to the willingness of people to get involved, and give work and time to causes they believe in, and despite the cries of “Astroturf” by Pelosi there isn’t a bunch of Koch money funding them.

You run with the volunteers you have. Elizabeth Warren has been running for quite a while. If you are a member of the GOP like me sure, I can look at that picture and laugh, maybe I’d joke: “What are you talking about? I’ll bet all of those folks are 1/32 Cherokee.”

But if I’m Elizabeth Warren I have two choices: I can pull an SEIU and pay people of color to show up as if they are volunteers AstroTurfing the pictures or I can take the shot with the people who actually show up.

So young leftist I’m sure Warren would have been happy to have your face in that shot, if you weren’t in the picture it’s your fault not hers.

Of course If I was you, I’d head on down to the Scott Brown HQ instead….

DaTechGuy’s fundraiser continues and as you can see by the thermometer your $10 & $20 is needed to keep things going as there is not a bunch of Koch money in the till for the record if the Koch brothers or rich conservatives want to kick in and get me to our $3000 goal and beyond , I’m a capitalist, I’ll take it!

Fight! Are you warriors or children?

Star Trek Friday’s Child 1967

All over the net the story is how the tea party and the GOP is losing the fight on the payroll tax cut.

House Republicans faced mounting pressure Wednesday from critics inside and outside Congress who worry that their standoff with President Obama over whether to extend a payroll tax cut could do lasting damage to the GOP.

The MSM is pushing this will every bit of ink and every pixel they possess but no matter how hard they push this theme it it doesn’t change the math:

Senate Tax bill

(8 weeks extension / 2 a bi-weekly paycheck) x $40 per check= $160 dollars

House Tax Bill

(52 weeks extension / 2 a bi-weekly paycheck) x $40 per check = $1040 dollars

House bill $1040 – Senate Bill $160 dollars = $880 dollars more for taxpayers in the house bill!

All over twitter I’ve seen Democrats

Retweeted by a new bot posting their $40 stories

making their case and over and over I’ve been giving them the same answer:

It’s not hard to make the case that $880 dollars is better to have than $40 dollars. $880 dollars is a new washer or dryer.

This is a fight the Tea Party and the house can easily win but you have to be willing to fight.

Let’s hit them straight on, we have both right, and basic math on our side!

Let’s not forget that the Tea Party is totally paid for and that young people get involved because they care.

Or not. Via @dsm012.

Look for the Grassroots label

And where is this coming from, just in case it moves from here this is the heading:

Hey is a job

Keep this in mind the next time the left tells you the tea party is not GrassRoots and their support is.

If you ever wonder why you see so many young people at such rallies, this is why…

…plus guys hope to score.

Some interesting tactics being used to gin up support for Obama/Kennedy care.

These green shirts blocked the north entrance to the high school parking lot. All who wanted to enter to hear Representative Perlmutter had to go approximately 1/4 of a mile to the west entrance. They said everyone had to sign in for security reasons.

Apparently the security was for the security of the democratic party because once things got started the congressman Ed Permutter…

…who thanked all who had signed the clipboard form and stated that all these signatures would go on to to Washington showing support of the Obama Health Care Plan.

Well hey it not as if they were trying to move the event or something to keep people from showing up…Oh wait:

What should also be mentioned is that the location was changed at the last minute from the Aurauria campus to this high school. It was only the determination of the anti obamacare activists who were on top of this fact that any of our counterdemonstrators showed up at all.

The late breaking news on the OFA website the night before was noticed by one of the freedom groups and he alerted as many people as he could. No doubt, many showed up to protest at the other location and never knew of the change.

Well its not like they are kicking out people for questioning the presence of the Union astroturfers…Oh Wait again

He challenged Shea-Porter on the appearance of SEIU protesters in the room, one of whom got up and disrupted his question. When the first man then challenged the residency of the SEIU rep, police swooped in and removed him.

After all there is nothing more dangerous than an elderly retired policeman. You’d think it ain’t America no more?

Gee phony security, bussed in demonstrators, moving events, removing people who question them. The tactics used by the administration and its supporters seem old style soviet odd to an observer. It’s almost as they were part of some sort of Culture of Corruption or something.
