The questions that have been asked so far in this debate, illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media. This is not a cage match. And if you look at the questions, Donald Trump, are you a comic book villain? Ben Carson, can you do the math? John Kasich, can you insult two people over here? Marco Rubio, why don’t you resign? Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen? How about talking about the substantive issues —

Ted Cruz CNBC Debate Oct 29th 2015

Last week Ted Cruz has his single biggest moment in the GOP race to this point when during the CNBC debate he called out the bias of the MSM against the GOP contrasting it with how Democrats have been treated by said media and suggested that perhaps the people asking the questions of the person seeking the GOP nomination should have voted in such a primary at least once.

During the week that followed we heard all kinds of snark suggesting that if the GOP couldn’t handle CNBC they couldn’t handle the white house, they were called whiners, complainers and attacked by press from CNN MSNBC and even Megyn Kelly of Fox news.

However on Friday we had a 24 hour period where the Media did their best to make his point for him.

Item 1.  The only way a Black Man escapes the Democrat Plantation is Death

Months ago just after he announced I covered a Ben Carson Q & A in NH and ask him about the media 180 on him since he critiqued the president at the Prayer Breakfast.

at the time Carson’s prospects were considered slim and none and slim was not in town. Well a few weeks after he finished 2nd in the 603 alliance caucus of confirmed NH voters and just a few days after a Quinnipiac poll showed that he was drawing nearly 20% of te black vote, enough to make a Democrat victory impossible in a general election. The media decided to go after him in a Big way.

Politico put out hit piece on Carson claiming he was lying about some childhood & teenage stories. Before you knew it every single media outlet was piling on as illustrated by this image via the Rush Limbaugh site:

Journalistic-Malpractice

and this statement

See? From the moment I told you about this, this is exactly what I told you The Politico’s purpose was. They want you to think that Carson never went to West Point but that he says he did. “Politico published a piece Friday claiming Carson’s campaign ‘admits fabricating’ the fact that he applied and was admitted to West Point.” So they go to the West Point spokesbabe today and she says, “No, we had no application. He didn’t apply, and he certainly didn’t attend here.”

So they clearly want ignorant, impressionable, uninformed readers to think that Ben Carson’s out there writing in his book that he went to West Point and that The Politico today has uncovered the fact that he didn’t. And do you want to know how successful this is? I’m not gonna mention any names here. In the opening segment of this program, I’m going through exactly what I just told you here, and somebody on the other side of the glass shouted to me, “It doesn’t matter, he’s toast! The truth doesn’t matter. He’s toast.”

And this might be true if Carson was a regular pol but if you think a fellow who has spent hours fighting for the lives of kids considered doomed was going to just give up they were quite mistaken. Carson called the story “an outright lie” American Elephant put it well

and lo and behold within a few hours Politico had already edited their story (without mentioning the edits) and CNN was putting out a story titled “Where Politico’s Ben Carson ‘Scoop’ Went Wrong

The rewritten article did not initially include a correction or editor’s note, although a note was later added on Friday. Politico again said it “stands by its reporting.”

Of course by the time these corrections were promulgated the low info voters who don’t follow the news or see the corrections will have the background noise of “Ben Carson Lied” added into things “everybody knows.”

Take a look at the press conference below

And remember the primary subject of these questions are concerning a dinner he attended at age 18.

Now some might say, hey this guy is running for president of the United States, this isn’t softball, he’s got to demonstrate that he can stand up and take it.

However that very evening we saw a very different press event for Democrats…

2. MSNBC invites the Hillary Clinton & Co over to play  softball

At 8 PM Friday evening MSNBC broadcast the First in the south Democrat forum featuring Martin O’Malley, BErnie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

The Contrast was quite striking.

Unlike the combative CNBC, Fox & CNN Debates the Democrat Candidates appeared one at a time without worrying about being challenged by their opponents

Unlike the CNBC debate and the Scrum around Ben Carson earlier in the day. Rather than facing confrontational questions from political opponents like Ben Carson and the GOP CNBC debaters did the Democrat Candidates faced questions from Rachel Maddow the most liberal of hosts on MSNBC all based on affirming their worldview rather than challenging it.

And while Mr. Carson’s words at a dinner at age 18 were considered relevant neither this story which broke this morning:

A day after assuming office as secretary of state, Clinton signed a Sensitive Compartmented Information Nondisclosure Agreement that laid out criminal penalties for “any unauthorized disclosure” of classified information.

Experts have guessed that Clinton signed such an agreement, but a copy of her specific contract, obtained by the Competitive Enterprise Institute through an open records request and shared with the Washington Free Beacon, reveals for the first time the exact language of the NDA.

Nor he contradictory explanations concerning the cause of the Benghazi attack.

An email released by the House Select Committee on Benghazi Saturday suggests Hillary Clinton’s State Department was advised to tell two different stories about what sparked the 2012 Benghazi terror attack: one to the U.S., and another in Libya.

Both which took place while secretary of state in this administration were not newsworthy enough to elicit a question on the topic from Miss Maddow. Here is one of the questions

Now you might say that it’s the job of the press to examine the words of a top tier GOP candidate like Ben Carson and you might also say that at the Democrat Forum Rachel Maddow asked some questions of real substance, particularly the one on the tech industry & in both cases you would be right…

…HOWEVER if I was a candidate like Ted Cruz, who was roundly attacked for contrasting the way Democrats and Republicans are treated by the press and ridiculed by Megyn Kelly for suggesting that perhaps the GOP should have it’s debates moderated by people who actually vote in GOP elections the next time someone questioned either of these statements and asked why he’s spending his time talking about media coverage I’d hand them a DVD of the Media coverage of November 6th 2015 and answer:

THIS is why.

I know you can get the MSM for nothing, but that’s pretty much what most of them are worth.

Before a debate it’s customary for candidates to attempt to lower expectations so that any showing is considered a success but I have to say this is the first time that I’ve ever seen a network do such a thing:

CNN expects ‘significantly smaller’ ratings for Dem debate

Of course you could try to get the various candidates to confront each other on issues and get some fireworks like we had with the GOP but that won’t take place:

CNN’s Anderson Cooper will moderate the first Democratic presidential debate this week, and unlike the previous Republican debate hosted by CNN, Cooper said he won’t be encouraging confrontations between the candidates.

After all this is CNN and the MSM are liberals first and reporters second.  So what does that tell us about tonight’s event, it tells us several things:

It tells us that they don’t expect the large crowds who have turned up for Bernie Sanders to translate into ratings.

CNN has concluded that young people given the choice of watching bunch of geriatric democrats and watching doing almost anything else, they’re probably right.

It’s tells us that while Cheryl Crow might draw for the national anthem:

Grammy-award winning singer Sheryl Crow is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at the first Democratic primary debate being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 13.

They expect that as soon as the anthem is done her fans will turn away.

And of course given that this is democrat debate they risk Democrats votes turning away over the playing of the national anthem.

Finally it tells us that even with a full week of speculation concerning american heart-throb Joe Biden, will he show up, will they take that podium, what will the field do if he comes?

Even the Joe Biden card isn’t going to be enough

Closing thought, what does it say about the Democrat field when their last best hope to get attention is Joe Biden?

Fletcher: Your Honor, I object!
Judge Stevens: And why is that, Mr. Reid?
Fletcher: Because it’s devastating to my case.

Liar Liar 1997

The Hillary Clinton campaign is not very happy with Judicial Watch: (emphasis in original)

No, because you have to remember Judicial Watch is a partisan group that has been suing Democrats, me in particular, for twenty years. Anything that they can sue over to create partisan advantage, they do. The facts are very clear here. I did turn over all work-related e-mails in an effort to help the State Department make sure that their records were complete. And those are the facts. Now that doesn’t mean I will ever convince these partisans who are, you know, trying to make all sorts of allegations. But I think the American people understand that.

Alas poor Hillary that’s her whole problem, the American people understand this scandal completely:

The American people, because have friends or family either have worked in government or know someone who has, understand there are rules about handling government and classified documents.

The American People, because they use email and smart phones on a regular basis, understand you can have more than one email account go to a phone.

The American People, because they use thumb & memory drives that can hold dozens of gigs of data and see them for sale in the checkout lines of any Walmart or Staples,   understand how easy it is to  get a thumb drive for backup

The American People, because they and their children do it themselves with camera cards and thumb drives, understand it only take seconds to give the command to copy even 50,000 emails files  from a folder to an external drive and just minutes for such a copy to complete.

The American People, because they have home printers, understand it takes hours or days to print out 50,000 pages of emails.

The American People, because they search for music, emails and pictures every day, understand the difference between searching a thumb drive vs leaving through 50,000 pages of email.

The American People, because they are not stupid, understand when you finally turn over email servers that the FBI has requested, and it turns out to be as her lawyer put it ” blank”, it’s not a coincidence.

That the rub, many political scandals involve complicated rules and laws that the American people either do not understand or have no interest in understanding that’s why a clever pol with the media behind them can usually get away with things.

This scandal however involves things that most Americans work with every day.  They don’t need it explained to them, which is why when the American people see Hillary lawyering up or try to explain away this scandal, they understand she is lying to their faces.

Democrat operatives understand this too, that’s why they are, as the Hill put it in in near panic mode:

“I’m not sure they completely understand the credibility they are losing, by the second,” said one Democratic strategist, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “At some point this goes from being something you can rationalize away to something that becomes political cancer. And we are getting pretty close to the cancer stage, because this is starting to get ridiculous.”

That’s the problem for the Democrats, they are losing credibility because the American People understand.

Update:   The American people may not understand the intricacies of 18 USC 1924

For purposes of 18 USC 1924, that’s irrelevant; the server was put in place by Hillary Clinton, owned by her, and located in her house. If any classified material went through it, Hillary Clinton is as legally responsible for retaining it illegally as her aides would have been for transmitting it, and just the retention is a crime. But if Hillary didn’t send or receive it, who did? No wonder Huma’s lawyering up, although she might want to rethink the idea of keeping a former Clinton aide on the team.

but they understand than when you lawyer up, it’s not because things are going well.

Update 2: Something else the American People likely get:

Every security expert I know of has said it’s a virtual certainty the Chinese and Russians both gained access to her server and all her emails. From what I know about their capabilities, I’d agree.

What’s really amazing about that statement is there are people who know and understand this, yet still want her in the White House.

Update 3:  Old Friend NeoNeocon explains my last line from update 2 in answer to my post:

One of those three stated at the outset that Hillary was way too moderate for her and she was a Sanders supporter anyway. Another shrugged and said that Hillary was being framed by Republicans who were always making stuff up about her and were out to get her. I asked her what she would think, however, if the charges turned out to be true, and she answered that everybody does it and it’s no big deal. When I asked her if she worried about national security considerations, she didn’t seem to think that was any big deal or anything unusual. She then explained that she herself has two email addresses, one for work and one for personal use, and sometimes she makes an error and sends something official on her personal email. She was likening Hillary’s actions to her own—just a careless, understandable error. When I pointed out that Hillary had a much higher level of responsibility, she didn’t seem to think so, or if so it just didn’t concern her.

She talked to four people on the subject, and the final tally?

So we have one out of four who even seems to care about the emails or find them the least bit alarming. Not a great record, and I bet it’s representative.

I bet she’s right.  Many of our friends on the left do not want to oppose Hillary.  If you are looking for an excuse to dismiss something you’re going to find it.

Update 4: This is not a bug it’s a feature

By having cleaned the hard disk on which all of the important activity took place, Clinton could well have impeded the FBI’s investigation, and thereby rendered it impossible for the federal government to learn what she has been up to.

A lot is going to be written about Hillary and the enemies list story some of it will undoubtedly be written by me but I want to make one point concerning the Hillary stuff that you have been absorbing for the last day or two.

There are democrats who would like to be president, there are the obvious ones such as Governor Cuomo whose father learned the lesson of striking while the iron is hot the hard way. Governor O’Malley of Maryland who by an odd coincidence I’ve noticed on TV a lot lately and even to some degree Senator Elizabeth Warren who has built up a huge following among the farthest of the left (and who while dead wrong on most issues has, in my observation, a winning way with people). These people, those who support their potential campaigns or those who would benefit from either their campaigns or some other candidate that we are not aware of at this time would have an incentive to bring things like this forward.

And unlike any GOP candidate these people have relationships with members of the MSM who will be happy to do a favor for a friend and get something like this before the general public and then use it as proof of their lack of bias vs the GOP.

If the description in the article is true then there are plenty of other people who have a clear incentive to make sure that the Clintons and their loyalists with long memories do not get a chance to use those memories to “bridgegate” them.

The truth if Hillary Clinton fails to gain traction and either decides not to run in 2016 or fails to win the Democrat nomination for President it won’t be due to the actions of Republicans out to stop her, it will be because of Democrats who were willing to stop her at any cost and it’s not going to be pretty or clean when they do.

And if you don’t believe Democrats would do this to Hillary you’re just not asking the right people like these folks:

or these

or these

or these

I’m just curious if any of these people punished Barack Obama at the ballot box because the liberal feminist who ran the now defunct blog the Reclusive Leftist that these videos came from. voted Obama in 2012.

They don’t care if you’re silent or not as long as they have your vote when they need it. Boy did Roxeanne have em pegged or what?

It’s Tuesday and the 2014 doldrums continue apace.

We are coming up to the half way point of the month and the half way point to the week and , and we have so far moved the ball only $22 dollars toward a full paycheck.

Now statistically January is traditionally a bad month here. January of 2011 & 2012 both rank in my bottom 6 months since I moved the blog to its current site.

But no matter what like a Baseball game there is no clock so if we get those 12 tip jar hits of $25 we’ll be back where we ought to be

What do you say?

As evidenced by this ad in NY-7

I got a kick out of the JFK picture on the wall, it reminded me of a conversation with a lady I know, Strong Catholic, Strong Anti-Abortion and still convinced that the Democrats are out for the little guy as if Kennedy was still in the White House.

The PAC that produced this ad notes the following:

And this year? Nydia raised $300,000 for her election, all from big Corporate PACs and special interests, but just 1 contribution from her own district – who does she really represent? Enough is enough – With 2 better candidates on June’s Primary ballot, you can make a change!

I spoke to Dan Backer about Innovation Pac. It is supporting People like Scott Brown (R) in Massachusetts and Mary Landreau (D) in Louisiana. Peter Walch (D) in VT and Martha Zoller (R) Georgia.

The Pac supports small business focusing on SBIR which has made Nydia Velazquez target #1
