If we have to fight back to back, it’s possible that you might run. I don’t think you will, but you might. I’ve fought back to back with these Mohicans father and son, and they didn’t run

Last of the Mohicans BBC 1972

draw-mohammedIf you are a long term reader of this blog or a long term listener to my radio show you know the easiest way to get me angry is to get me talking about Molly Norris.

For those of you who don’t know Three years ago Molly Norris was a cartoonist in Seattle whose work appeared regularly in the Seattle Weekly. Her style is not really the type I go for

After the censoring of South Park Episodes by Comedy Central over the inclusion of Mohammad she proposed “Everybody Draw Mohammad Day” in solidarity with the artiest whose lives were in danger.

Oddly enough I was not a fan of Everybody Draws Mohammad day

I have unabashedly declared Islamic killers as barbarians, I will continue to do so. I have condemned the cowardice of Comedy Central. I don’t feel I have anything to prove. In addition I don’t like caricatures of Christ, Mary etc that are unflattering. I want respect for my religion therefore I need to show that same respect. Free speech has to also include freedom to not speak if you don’t want to.

Therefore I am not going to draw Mohammed on May 20th. If you think less of me because of that, so be it…

Immediately afterwards a FATWA was put upon her and the reaction of the “free speech” crowd that was constantly complaining about Bush, was…silence.

It did not end pretty:

You may have noticed that Molly Norris’ comic is not in the paper this week. That’s because there is no more Molly

No she’s not dead

on the insistence of top security specialists at the FBI, she is, as they put it, “going ghost”: moving, changing her name, and essentially wiping away her identity. She will no longer be publishing cartoons in our paper or in City Arts magazine, where she has been a regular contributor. She is, in effect, being put into a witness-protection program—except, as she notes, without the government picking up the tab. It’s all because of the appalling fatwa issued against her this summer, following her infamous “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” cartoon.

The anniversary of the fatwa on her passed and almost nobody noticed and three years later Morry Norris is still in hiding.

An American Cartoonist, forced in hiding for exercising her first amendment rights for nearly three years and nobody is objecting, no congressional resolutions, no speeches on the house floor and no stories in the MSM. In my opinion this is a national disgrace.

Which brings us to Brett Kimberlin & Co.

Lee Stranahan reports the following

A photo taken by Brett Kimberlin on Friday, March 1st and quickly posted to the site BreibartUnmasked is the latest in a long series of attempts by convicted felon Kimberlin to attempt to stir up Muslim hatred towards blogger Aaron Walker, apparently as revenge against Mr. Walker for helping another blogger Kimberlin has a long running grudge against.

Walker’s crime: Participating in Everyone Draw Mohammad day. Brett Kimberlin’s crew apparently takes a dim view of supporting the first amendment. Stranahan again:

The editor of BreitbartUnmasked is Kimberlin’s friend Bill Schmalfeldt, who has accusing Walker of hating Muslims more than “he loves his wife”. The site also published a photo of Mr. Walker’s wife.

Mr. Schmalfeldt has also written thinly veiled threats to Mr. Walker, such as this one from a post entitled “Aaron Walker: A Cautionary Tale”:

In the meantime, Aaron Walker sits in front of his spit-flecked computer screen and blogs and tweets about the injustice of it all. But everyone knows he’s a dead man blogging — metaphorically.

This latest photo post by Brett Kimberlin and Bill Schmalfeldt is transparently another further attempt to have free-speech hating lunatics to target Walker.

Mind you the Kimberlin crowd is not doing this because they object to some Muslims being critiqued as murderous barbarian bastards who would kill or threaten a person who objects to Islamic threats. They are doing this specifically because they BELIEVE Muslims to be murderous barbarian bastards who will threaten or harm those who critique them, in fact they’re counting on it!

One might call that racism. I call it a crime against the 1st amendment.

At the time the threats took place against Ms Norris I said the following:

I’m not big into insulting other people’s religions but this needs to be forcibly fought. As for a Fatwa, bring it on, We are AMERICANS! If you come for one of us you come for ALL OF US! You want to kill me? So what! Everybody dies, but I’m not surrendering my 1st Amendment rights that have been given to me as a gift by thousands who fought to preserve them for an extra few days.

Let’s double down. My name is Peter Ingemi. My ancestors came here from Sicily 100 years ago. I am an American and I defy you.

It’s a disgrace that America has forgotten Molly Norris, it’s a bigger disgrace that she is still in hiding for her life due to Islamic extremists.

But the idea that Americans would attempt to use the violence of Radical Islamists to suppress their political enemies 1st Amendment rights is in my mind one of the most loathsome things I’ve seen.

And consider, even the deluded Islamic murderer acts because they think they are serving God, Kimberlin & Co are simply serving their political ends and whatever masters are paying the bill.

Any person who would fight back to back with these men are fools.

As of today this weeks’ paycheck is only $33 dollars short of the $300 goal. Two readers kicking in $20 will assure me of a full paycheck this week as opposed to last weeks paycheck that totaled $104 dollars

If you think this blog is worth your money, you can kick in here and remember today my subscription commentary comes out, if you kick in you will get that commentary today. (If you subscribe for any amount you’ll my commentary every week)

I understand that an Iman has put a death sentence for any person who makes a film insulting Islam. Well let me be the first to offer an entry in his contest.

I am an American, too many people have died for the sake of my first Amendment Rights for me to abandon them over a threat. If I did I would be unworthy of them.

This American of Sicilian Ancestry will not submit and I invite any other American to submit to join me in this. Yes you are risking your life, but our troops are doing so every day to secure us our rights, the least we can do is back them up.

Update: I fell asleep on my couch around 11 dead tired, I woke up at 4:30 to discover my video was suddenly private.

I’m positive I didn’t set it that way, I don’t know if Youtube did that or if my son worried I’m gonna get myself killed did it but it ain’t private anymore.

As a great sailor one said “Cringing to these fellows will never do.”

Update 2Talk about working in mysterious ways, Got an e-mail from Jim asking for the link to the private video after subscribing, I e-mailed back offering a refund saying this video wasn’t private but that’s bloody brilliant! What if I produce two or three special video commentaries a week for subscribers only? That would generate revenue and be a value added for people who subscribe?

Obviously this once can’t be private as it defeats the entire purpose of the point I was making but I think I might give this a shot starting later this week

It’s bloody brilliant! Jim thanks for the idea and whoever set that video to private on me thanks a lot for the idea.

What can you say when you see something like this:

What’s most amazing is that its citizens will not merely refrain from objecting, but will stand and cheer the U.S. Government’s new power to assassinate their fellow citizens, far from any battlefield, literally without a shred of due process from the U.S. Government. Many will celebrate the strong, decisive, Tough President’s ability to eradicate the life of Anwar al-Awlaki — including many who just so righteously condemned those Republican audience members as so terribly barbaric and crass for cheering Governor Perry’s execution of scores of serial murderers and rapists — criminals who were at least given a trial and appeals and the other trappings of due process before being killed.

I thought the left was insisting we were at war with Al Qaeda instead of Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc etc etc. You would think that killing leaders of Al-Qaeda would work for them? Cripes even Andrew Sullivan still gets it:

My own position is that we are at war, and that avowed enemies and traitors in active warfare against the US cannot suddenly invoke legal protections from a society they have decided to help destroy.

I’ll wager Greenwald and Firedoglake would not have been crying over Winston Wood Bolt.

He also brings up something near and dear to me:

to remove one important propaganda source of that movement has made all of us safer. And those Americans who have lived under one of Awlaki’s murderous fatwas can breathe more easily today.

I guess that means he will never take me up on my formal request to be included in the FATWA against Molly Norris. Does that mean she can come out of hiding? I sure hope so.

This about it, Andrew Sullivan has a clearer view of the situation than the MSM does. You don’t get much worse than that.

Exit question: Would the left have deployed Human Shields to protest Anwar Al-Awlaki and would that have stopped us from blowing him up?

Update: No you should not be insulted Stacy. Mr. Al-Awlaki and Mr. Bolt were born in the United States and were members of organizations at war with the United States, but that’s where the similarities end. Mr. Winston Wood Bolt fought under the articles of war only engaging soldiers until his capture but because he fought for the confederacy I suspect that the same people who are beating their breasts over Al-Awlaki would likely have much less mercy for Mr. Bolt.

Update 2: Glenn not Greg fixed

No not because his excellent daily cartoon Day by Day is now available at DaTechGuy’s blog but because of today’s cartoon:

Countdown to FATWA in 3...2...1

The really sad thing about this; it’s not a joke. It has reached a point where such a drawing is an act of courage, where radical Islamists will condemn such a drawing and murder over it. Even worse it has reached a point where people of the west will attack Muir for incitement. It would not surprise me if as Hitchens puts it we see

… self-righteous frenzy married to a neurotic need to take offence; the easy resort to indiscriminate violence and cruelty; the promulgation of makeshift fatwas by mullahs on the make; those writhing mustaches framing crude slogans of piety and hatred, and yelling for death as if on first-name terms with the Almighty. The spilling of blood and the spoliation of property — all for nothing

Yup, likely we will see more of this and it won’t be confined to Chris Muir via Little Miss Attila and Rogers Rules we see another candidate for Fatwa

I’m not a fan of burning books or offending people’s religion but can someone explain to me why this is being condemned by senators and presidents…

…and this is not:

As a Catholic I am outraged by the above video but it is important to show it to make the following point: I don’t recall Harry Reid’s or Lindsey Graham’s condemnation of the desecration of the body of Christ. I don’t recall breathless news stories about P. Z. Myers and his various physical attacks on the Eucharist (oddly enough his own tearing of the Koran elicited no response either) and tell me why when this is brought up the first response (particularly from our atheistic friends) is a history of the sins of Christianity when our response to online Eucharist desecration is this:

and Islam’s response is this:

The truth is that those who attack Christianity in general or Catholicism in particular know there is virtually no risk or danger to do so. They do however know that such attacks against Islam can lead to this:

Theo Van Gogh murdered Nov 2, 2004 on the streets of Amsterdam

Exit question, can someone explain to me why it is was a free speech imperative to defend the Nazi’s right to march in Skokie but not Terry Jones or Ann Barnhardt right to burn the Koran?

Update: Cross posted at The Minority Report

I don’t have much use for Terry Jones, his stunt to burn the Koran was nothing but a stunt to get publicity. He may have had a free speech point but I don’t think it’s something you do. I wouldn’t like it done to a bible so I wouldn’t do it to a Koran (I don’t like burning book as a basic principle anyway).

That being said this is MUCH more outrageous.

No sooner had Jones fired up his Bic than an Islamic “court” in Pakistan found him guilty of the crime of desecrating the religion’s most holy book. The court then issued a fatwa—loosely translated as “death order—against him, as is their wont.

But here is where the story gets interesting. Pakistan’s Jamaat-ud-Dawah, a banned Islamic organization and suspected terrorist group, announced a bounty of 10 crore rupees for anyone who fulfills the fatwa on Jones. In case you’re wondering, that amount is equivalent to around $2.2 million—not exactly chicken feed.

Jones is a pain but nevertheless he is an AMERICAN exercising his free speech rights. It is incumbent on Americans to condemn this and inform Pakistan that any attempt to harm an American citizen excerpting his free speech will mean trouble.

A fatwa on one American is a fatwa on all and like him or not we have to stand with him.

Unfortunately judging from the comments sections I’m seeing the left is angry for people mentioning the Fatwa and blaming Jones for promoting hate. If the Catholic Church was exciting those who desecrated the Eucharist I suspect we wouldn’t be seeing the same response.

Got an e-mail today informing me that another American has a FATWA against him:

Moslems in Eritrea, following MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow’s lead, have declared Jihad against me, a “racist American homosexual,” because of my Visitor’s Guide to DC for tea partiers attending Glenn Beck’s and other rallies

The tea party is made up of people of all different races, religions, sexual preference and locations but bottom line is we are all Americans, and as far as I’m concerned if Moslems in Eritrea are coming after Bruce Majors, then they are coming after me.

I am Bruce Majors
and so is every American who believes in free speech. And if you aren’t, you ought to be.

Update and here is my flag!

We are all Bruce Majors!

If you come for one of us you come for us all.

I am outraged by this story:

[O]n the insistence of top security specialists at the FBI, she is… moving, changing her name, and essentially wiping away her identity… in effect, being put into a witness-protection program—except, as she notes, without the government picking up the tab.

I am not alone in my outrage. And I have the following demand to make of “moderate Muslims” who claim that Islam means an “internal struggle” and say they have come to America to become Americans Continue reading “A national disgrace: I defy you murderous Islamic Bastards (Bumped to top): Update: Shahed Amanullah YDM!”
