America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Abraham Lincoln

You know after hearing about his latest move while I was out today all I could think of is this:

This country hasn’t had a president more invested in the defeat of the United states and the empowerment of our enemies since Jefferson Davis and at least Davis had the decency to resign from his elected office before actively working against the United States and doing so openly & honestly.

I feel bad for Babaiu but worse for the Cubans.

I don’t feel bad for us at all, we did this to ourselves and deserve as a nation all we have gotten from Barack Obama.

If he can win the war on terror and turn the economy around he’ll be a winner in my book.

DaTechGuy on Barack Obama January 20th 2009

Seldom, if ever, in the history of the world has a prince been more enthusiastically acclaimed on his -accession or had an easier task offered him of gratifying the modest wishes of his people…what a splendid chance he had of being remembered in history as “Caligula the Good”, or “Caligula the Wise”, or “Caligula the Saviour”! But it is idle to write in this way. For if he had been the sort of man that the people took him for, he would never have survived his brothers or been chosen by Tiberius as his successor. Claudius, remember what scorn old Athenodorus had for such impossible contingencies’, he used to say, “If the Wooden Horse of Troy had foaled, horses to-day would cost far less to feed.”

Robert Graves I Claudius 1934

One of the things we used to hear from some of our fellows on the right is we would have to wait for the election of a Democrat for the left to take national security seriously.

If nothing else the last few years has cured us of this rosy assumption.

To be sure some there were some changes as Megan McArdle noted back in 2011

Have you noticed all the huge antiwar demonstrations in the last twelve months?  Yeah, me neither.  It turns out that a lot of the energy for the movement seems to have been provided by Democrats who are a lot less worried about wars conducted by Democratic presidents.

But along with an unwillingness to fund the anti-war movement came an unwillingness to protect US soldiers in battle as Mark Steyn noted in Oct of 2012 just after the Benghazi attack:

We also learned that, in those first moments of the attack, a request for military back-up was made by U.S. staff on the ground but was denied by Washington. It had planes and Special Forces less than 500 miles away in southern Italy – or about the same distance as Washington to Boston. They could have been there in less than two hours. Yet the commander-in-chief declined to give the order. So Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods fought all night against overwhelming odds, and died on a rooftop in a benighted jihadist hell hole while Obama retired early to rest up before his big Vegas campaign stop. “Within minutes of the first bullet being fired, the White House knew these heroes would be slaughtered if immediate air support was denied,” said Ty Woods’ father, Charles. “In less than an hour, the perimeters could have been secured, and American lives could have been saved. After seven hours fighting numerically superior forces, my son’s life was sacrificed because of the White House’s decision.”

The day Barack Obama was sworn I wrote a post ranking George Bush in the ranks of presidents (14th) and said this about the newly sworn in President:

President Elect Obama has the potential to end up anywhere on his list.  The trick is not to under rate him due to unreal expectations or overrate him due to his unique place in history.  Lets hope he earns high ratings due to high performance.  As of today it will come down to the economy and the war on terror but who knows what tomorrow will bring?  If he is really bad then he has the potential to help propel GWB much higher on the list.

It will be fun to find out.

I was very wrong about that last sentence.

We’ve already had an emphatic answer to the economy question and if Benghazi didn’t provide the answer the release of Bengdahl did.

You have the violation of law

and the White House flip flop:

On June 21, 2013, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney unequivocally assured reporters at that day’s White House Press Briefing that President Obama “would not make any decisions about transfer of any detainees without consulting Congress and without doing so in accordance with U.S. law.”

Then you have the nature of the people released people like:

Khairullah Khairkhwa is the most senior ex-Guantanamo prisoner who comes from “the fraternity of original Taleban who launched the movement in 1994,” according the Afghanistan Analysts Network. He surrendered to President Hamid Karzai’s brother just before he was captured in January 2002. His most prominent position was as governor of Herat Province from 1999 to 2001. He served in various Taliban positions including interior minister and had direct ties to Mullah Omar and Osama bin Laden.

Old line Democrats like Diane Feinstein are shocked by this deal and pols, particularly those running in red states are doing their best to run from this stuff and some in media even on MSNBC have expressed surprise that this deal has taken place and the willingness to keep offering new  explanations until one works.

All of this has produced shock and outrage and interesting spin for the last week plus, but while the administration has bungled this entire fiasco there is really only one place we should point as the source of all of this outrage…

…ourselves.

Barack Obama’s history, media not withstanding,  is not a secret.  This highlights something we’re posted on before and was the subject of Pam Geller’s first book

Geller looks at the president’s past, his upbringing, his influences and the crowd that he has spent his time with on the path that took him to the White House.  She makes the case that in all of these cases he has been steered and mentored in a direction that is contrary to basic American philosophy.

Given the influences, the professors, the radicals and the Marxists he has surrounded himself with.  People who have a world view that America is the chief problem of the world rather than the last best hope of it. It frankly would be a wonder if he had a different philosophy than what he does.

It’a philosophy that allows him to sit back and let die Americans who actually fight the enemy.

Why would Obama and Biden do such a thing? Because to launch a military operation against an al-Qaida affiliate on the anniversary of 9/11 would have exposed the hollowness of their boast through convention week and the days thereafter – that Osama was dead, and al-Qaida was finished. And so Ty Woods, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and Chris Stevens were left to die, and a decision taken to blame an entirely irrelevant video and, as Secretary Clinton threatened, “have that person arrested.” And, in the weeks that followed, the government of the United States lied to its own citizens as thoroughly and energetically as any totalitarian state, complete with the midnight knock-on-the-door from not-so-secret policemen sent to haul the designated fall guy into custody.

We are outraged over Barack Obama’s action but as we’ve said here many times, If you start from the idea they are marxists, it make perfect sense.

During the Iraq war Glenn Reynolds often quipped about the left:  They’re not anti-war, they’re just on the other side.

Perhaps we should have not assumed that the acquisition or the retention of electoral power would change this.

This blog exists as a full-time endeavor thanks to your support. The only check I draw to pay for this coverage and all that is done is what you choose to provide.

For a full month I ask a fixed amount $1465.

With the exception of January, 2014 remains a very lean year for our blog fiscally, If we can draw a mere $50 a day that will be reversed.

If you think this coverage and what we do here is worth your support please consider hitting DaTipJar below and help keep the bills paid.

Naturally once our monthly goal is made these solicitations will disappear till the next month but once we get 61 more subscribers  at $20 a month the goal will be covered for a full year and this pitch will disappear until 2015.

Consider the lineup you get for this price, in addition to my own work seven days a week you get John Ruberry (Marathon Pundit)  on Sunday Pat Austin (And so it goes in Shreveport)  on Monday  Tim Imholt on Tuesday,  AP Dillon (Lady Liberty1885) Thursdays, Pastor George Kelly Fridays,   Steve Eggleston on Saturdays with  Baldilocks (Tue & Sat)  and   Fausta  (Wed & Fri) of (Fausta Blog) twice a week.

If that’s not worth $20 a month I’d like to know what is?

…To turn a cold war victory that it took half a dozen presidents from Harry Truman to George Bush 41 to win into defeat.

The question isn’t if Putin is going to keep the Crimea that’s already been established, the question is: Will there be an independent country called “Ukraine” anymore or if it does exist how much land it will consist of?

The United States will have absolutely no say in the matter, the EU will have no say in the matter, only Russia & Putin will make that decision with only perhaps China as a limiting factor.

But that’s not a sign this president has reopened the Cold war and lost. This is:

Russia says it is negotiating with eight governments around the world for access to military facilities, to enable it to extend its long-range naval and strategic bomber capabilities.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Wednesday the military was engaged in talks with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Algeria, Cyprus, the Seychelles, Vietnam and Singapore.

Meanwhile back in the us what is the leader of the free world doing:

A White House official emailed some reporters to say that President Obama’s team met today to discuss the ongoing situation on Ukraine. It appears President Obama did not attend.

Seriously?

Perhaps instead the National Security Team should have invited Sarah Palin, she apparently has a better grasp on the situation than Barack Obama.

The only thing more pathetic than the president’s response is this from the media such as this headline at Politico:

Putin’s Reckless Ukraine Gambit

“Reckless”? Reckless implies he is taking a risk, Vladimir Putin has dealt with Barack Obama and this administration he knows that opposing the man who removed the bust of Winston Churchill did not involve risk.

There is only one question left to ask in my mind: Is the defeat of the United States, the emasculation of it’s international prestige, the abandonment of our allies and the gutting of our military a bug or a feature to President Barack Obama?

If five years ago someone asked me that question I would have called them crazy,

That I am asking this question and honestly don’t know the answer, saddens me beyond belief.

Generations still unborn in countries around the world will pay for our decision to elect the first affirmative action president.

Its the first day of March and we’re coming off our biggest shortfall ever for our monthly goal just under $500 shy of the mortgage.

However there is also a weekly paycheck goal which took a back seat due to the mortgage shortfall, we’re only $115 shy there and with the rest of the day to do it, that’s entirely doable.

5 $25 tip jar hits will give us that consolation prize and get us started toward making the March goal.

We’ve never failed to meet payroll & Mortgage two months in a row (in fact we’ve only missed them by any significant amount twice in 13 months). Let’s get March off to a good start to so that doesn’t happen now.

Many years ago I remember watching a mini-series that is largely forgotten on Peter the Great with Maximilian Schell in the title role.

There was a key scene in the third episode that always stuck with me. Peter was looking for funds to build a fleet and expand his army and decided he would tax the Church. His political ally (played by Omar Sharif) is concerned about such a move and with the head of the Opposition and with the blessing of the Patriarch of the church leads him to a vault full of treasure put aside by his grandfather for “Russia’s rainy day”. The scene starts at 3:05

The Tsar’s reaction was telling:

I will use this…AND Tax the Church!

The sudden unexpected fortune was great, but taxing the hated church really rang his bells.

And that’s is what this Obamacare contraception mandate is really all about.

It doesn’t matter how much this move might hurt democrats in Red States, it doesn’t matter how bad the optics are going after elderly Nuns or how it undercuts places like Notre Dame that had him speak at commencement or that with the number of exemptions this administration to places like McDonalds and Unions giving one more for the religious faithful would be a drop in the bucket.  It will hurt the hated Church so that’s as the Anchoress put it comparing it to Al Gore on global warming,  what makes it worthwhile

I’ve long-believed that Gore’s rantings were given credence by all the “smart” people, and finally honored with Oscars and Nobel Peace Prizes, simply as consolation prizes for his losing Florida by so few votes in 2000. It was all meant to be — like the Nobel given to Jimmy Carter (and, I suspect, the one given to Barack Obama) — “a kick in the leg” to George W. Bush. A bit of self-satisfying spite against the hated other.

Rather like the entire HHS Mandate, in fact, a spiteful bit of law meant to discomfit religious institutions and personal religious conscience but never necessary to its purpose. If the government really wanted everyone to have access to free sterilization, free contraception, free abortifacients, it could have written that into law any number of ways, without going after human consciences. Which, again, the president swore to protect.

But an even greater prize than just injuring the church is taxing it.  That’s a secular left wet dream.  That the mandate allows the state to tax the church without the political risks of formally removing the Church’s Tax exemption is what really rings the bells for leftist pols who have to give lip service to religious freedom.  They’ll fight for this more than anything else because belief in a moral authority above the state is the most dangerous concept to their plans.

Of course Faithful Catholics have a choice, they can take the easy path, sign away their faith in the church and replace it with faith in Obamacare and be spared the tax .  The media and democrats around the country will be urging them to do so and if it happens they will smile and use it as a club for new laws to pry Christians just a little farther away from God.

But if they persist on clinging to their faith, putting it above The One™ then the Jiza must be paid for that impertinence and I think it’s that tax payment the left is dreaming of.

Closing thought:  Some will no doubt use this post to claim I believe the president to be a Muslim.  While he has many sympathies with Islam & the Muslim brotherhood , I can’t go along with the idea that he is an actual Muslim.  Nobody is going to convince me Barack Obama worships anyone or anything above himself.

Update:  Cleaned up that closing sentence read OK but sounded awful when I said it aloud.

Update 2: If you didn’t think the left really has it in for the Catholic Church then you will after you read this nonsense:

More than WASPS, Methodists, Jews, Quakers or Baptists, Catholics often try to impose their beliefs on you, me, public discourse and institutions. Especially if “you” are female.

Lots of reactions to this idiocy from Fr. Z:, Yid with Lid , Michael Potemra  Deacon GregMichael Sean Winters  The Anchoress to Captain Ed (yes I still call him that).  All seem to convey a level of surprise at this piece.

Let me say categorically nothing in this piece remotely surprises me.  I suggest this is what the prevailing media culture actually believes about the church and everybody better get used to that fact.

It’s Wednesday. 2014 has been here a full year and the good news is I’ve noticed a solid increase in baseline (that is non instalanche) traffic.

The bad news however is that in terms of da weekly paycheck the same has not been true. While this week’s traffic has been fine the last 7 days of DaTipJar have been awful.

Last week we didn’t make payroll, this week we’re only at 13% and despite a good amount of traffic things didn’t move a single bit.

All the traffic in the world won’t make up for bills not paid. If you think this site is worth your time, please consider kicking in to Datipjar, $5 $10, $25 any amount will shrink our $298 defect this week.

It will be very appreciated.

Remember if we can get those 58 1/4 subscribers @ at $20 a month the bills will be paid every week. Help make sure this blog can fight without fear all year long.

“I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square. His successor will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilization, as the church has done so often in human history.”

Cardinal Francis George

Apparently Cardinal George’s prophecy is being fast forwarded

In a stunning development, some military priests are facing arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the federal government shutdown.

This is right out of the Soviet playbook

“With the government shutdown, many [government service] and contract priests who minister to Catholics on military bases worldwide are not permitted to work – not even to volunteer,” wrote John Schlageter, the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services USA, in an op-ed this week. “During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so.”

The most Amazing thing? I suspect arrest of Catholic Priests for saying mass will be extremely popular with some the Democrat base, particularly those celebrating Wendy Davis, however the Bible is rather clear about this:

When they had brought them in and made them stand before the Sanhedrin, the high priest questioned them,

“We gave you strict orders (did we not?) to stop teaching in that name. Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and want to bring this man’s blood upon us.”

But Peter and the apostles said in reply, “We must obey God rather than men.

Acts 5:27-29

Any Catholic Priest who would refrain from celebrating the Mass by order of the Government is not worthy of his collar.

Right now America is humiliated before Russia, Broke with deficits as far as the eye can see, stuck with a healthcare law designed to destroy business, with it’s reputation in the world and before it’s allies diminished to such a degree that it will be years before it is trusted again.

Bill Ayers must be very proud of his pupil.

Update: Or is it Putin who is proud?

Where have we heard Mr. Putin’s principles before? They are in fact basic articles of faith among American liberals who have been saying for decades that the U.S. should not use military force without United Nations authorization, we should not intervene in civil wars abroad, and the idea of American exceptionalism is a myth used to cover up crimes against women and minorities at home and the poor and oppressed abroad.

Perhaps this might be that famous “flexibility” we heard about before the election but don’t forget Halnon’s Razor

Still $160 to go

.

I’m Still looking to crowdsource my radio advertising. If you want more info click this link and see how you can promote my radio show while making up to to $400 for yourself.

I was scanning Robert Stacy McCain Live at 5 list when a story jumped out at me.

San Diego Mayor Filner In Mediation With City Amid Recall Efforts

Well not so much the story as the sentence below the headline.

San Diego Mayor Filner In Mediation With City Amid Recall Efforts

Filner supporters hold rally yesterday

Supporters? Filner has supporters?

Here is the story:

His supporters, which include some labor unions and Latinos, claim Filner is being denied due process, and the recall effort is orchestrated by those who oppose his political agenda.

Morning Joe has video

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

the key quote:

I understand what’s going on in San Diego. i mean, Bob Filner is a democrat. he’s mayor of San Diego. that doesn’t happen. it hasn’t happened in a long time. i’m sure the democrats out there are distraught at the thought that the mayor may have to go away

And that’s what it all comes down to.

National party figures who have no say on if Filner stays or goes can denounce him all they want. The media can tease him and make him the butt of jokes, but as long as they have no power to remove him it doesn’t matter.

As long as Filner is on the right side of the issues and to some degree useful to the left in San Diego the hard-core foot soldiers of the left in San Diego the Unions, the Latino’s and the activists are going to back him because to them the ends always justify the means.

That might seem odd to you and me but if you start from the idea they are all Marxists it makes perfect sense.

Tuesday is here and which means two days of the week are gone. In those two days $37 of my $305 weekly goal has been made.

If you can get me closer to the big number I’d really appreciated it, you can do it by hitting DaTipJar below.

.

The entire debate about the NSA PRISM program comes down to these two different views from two people I respect:

Robert Stacy McCain

while the NSA’s access to phone and e-mail records raises Fourth Amendment concerns about potential abuse, there is no one who can point to an instance where actual abuse has occurred. So far as we know, no one has been arrested on the basis of illegally obtained information or targeted by the NSA because they’re on Obama’s Enemies List of political opponents.

Apparently, Glenn Greenwald’s idea to solve this problem was to present the world with Edward Snowden as the hero-victim, making him the symbol (as Greenwald saw it) of how the administration was punishing courageous truth-tellers. However, rational people (a category from which Greenwald long ago excluded himself) recognized this as problematic: Snowden wasn’t an IRS employee revealing important truths about unlawful political abuse of government power, or a DOJ staffer disclosing the surveillance of journalists. Snowden had top-secret clearance at an agency whose express mission it is to gather communications (“signals intelligence,” or sigint) about America’s enemies. There is a world of difference between these two categories, and my antennae detected this difference when I saw the quote from Snowden praising Army Pvt. Bradley Manning as “a classic whistleblower” who “was inspired by the public good.”

and Glenn Reynolds

The problem is, it’s hard to trust the people who are supposed to use that data to protect us to do so, when they abandoned their own in Benghazi. And it’s hard to trust them not to use that data to oppress us, when they’ve already abused their powers that way in other connections. Which is why abuse of power is itself a kind of treason: It weakens the fabric of the nation like nothing else, by undermining the trust that is essential for the system to work.

And that’s basically the problem under normal circumstances I’d give a pass to the NSA as an organization that these people have dedicated years to defending this country from terror attacks.

But we have an administration that lives by “Chicago Values” a president who claims to know nothing, and a press in bed with both of them.

Stacy is right that we have no evidence of this administration abusing PRISM, just like we didn’t have evidence of the IRS going after the tea party…right up until the moment we did.

This is what the Obama administration has done, like the Nixon administration it has taken action that destroys trust and without trust a republic can’t stand. Stacy one more time

Gen. Keith Alexander says Snowden is lying and so we have to ask ourselves who we believe, the career Army officer who has dedicated his entire life to defending America from its enemies, or the dropout gamer who is Glenn Greenwald’s new man-crush?

I don’t blame Stacy McCain for believing Alexander over Snowden & Greenwald nor do I blame him trusting General Alexander as a rule I trust him as well.

But I don’t trust the commander in chief whose orders he is sworn to obey or that commander in chief’s administration and I submit and suggest anyone who does is a fool.

He took long chances but he took them because he had to. If Grant had not had superior numbers, he might have taken chances as long as Lee took. The only way to win for Lee was with long chances, and it made him brilliant.

Shelby Foote on Robert E. Lee

For a very long time in 2011 & 2012 I was saying to anyone that would listen that the Democrats were Demoralized as hell and the GOP should “ride right through them”.

Over and over I pointed to things the Democrats in general and the Obama campaign in particular were doing that indicated they were worried.

The reason WHY the democrats were doing these things was because they knew they were in trouble and were doing all they could to counter it in order to win.

Of course while the Democrats were doing what they could control there were things that they supposedly couldn’t control and one of the things were the actions of Tea Party activists as Glenn Reynolds wrote before the last election:

In 2010, the Tea Party movement delivered a huge setback to Obama and the Democrats in congressional elections. And from 2010 up to now, it’s delivered telling blows to insufficiently responsible Republican legislators in one primary election and caucus after another. (Just ask former Utah Sen. Robert Bennett, or Indiana’s Richard Lugar, or even the victorious but chastened Orrin Hatch).

But now comes the Tea Party’s biggest test. Can it swing a close presidential election against a dependency-loving incumbent, and in favor of a fiscally responsible challenger?

People forget how scared the left actually was, let me remind you of what Michael Moore was saying DURING the Democrat convention

Listen to these quotes:

The big problem is Obama’s base is ‘Yeah I think I’m going to vote for him’ but this time four years ago everybody including myself were working on phone banks.

and this

Young people who were voting for him four years ago are not that enthused and are not working like they were four years ago.

Moore did something you don’t often see him do, give an honest assessment of a situation, acting not as a propagandist but as a realist. He said out loud what a lot of people on the left know and what the media know but are doing their best to hide.

Democrats were worried and it showed. That’s unfortunately one of the reasons why Mitt Romney’s campaign felt he could both step on his own activists while playing the Gentleman with Obama.

Let me remind you I first used the phrase on January 20th 2010 the day after Scott Brown’s victory the event that MADE the tea party.

Why does this matter because the date of the anti-tea party moves of the IRS has continued to move back:

The scrutiny began, however, in March 2010, before an uptick could have been observed, according to data contained in the audit released Tuesday from the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration…

March 2010 two months after the Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts!

Anyone who thinks that timing is a coincidence is either imbecilic, insane or indoctrinated

When I commented during the election season about the Obama administration’s fear of the tea party I said:

You can’t do a damn thing about them, you can only hope to outwork them with your paid guys.

Apparently that sentence should have said was:

You can’t do a damn thing about them…unless you are a believer in the principle of “The Ends Justifies the means” and willing to use Nixon style tactics..

Lyndon Johnson famously said, if you do everything you can win, he didn’t specify “everything legal”.

I can’t say it is a fact, that Barack Obama or his campaign officially used the IRS to retard the growth and the effectiveness of the Tea Party in order to decrease their reach and effectiveness a foe on 2012, at least not yet…

…but I will say in my opinion that an Administration willing to leave Americans to die in Benghazi and frame a crummy filmmaker as responsible for it are certainly capable of it.

An optimist would say yesterday I halved the distance between where I was and the goal of a $300 paycheck for the week.

A pessimist would say I was only $4 short yesterday and I’m STILL $2 short today.

I would like to actually make this week’s goal, so if there is at least one reader who would care to kick in to get me over the top, simply hit DaTipJar below

Hornblower bowed, but as the Colonel remained unbending he stiffened to attention. He could recognize that type of man at once—the servant of a tyrant, and in close personal association with him, modeling his conduct not on the tyrant’s but on what he fancied should be the correct behaviour of a tyrant, far out-Heroding Herod.

C.S. Forester Flying Colors 1938

IRS during the 2012 election season election season

IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman told Congress in March 2012 that the IRS was not targeting groups based on their political views.

“There’s absolutely no targeting. This is the kind of back and forth that happens to people” who apply for tax-exempt status, Shulman told a House Ways and Means subcommittee.

IRS today with the election safely won:

The Internal Revenue Service inappropriately flagged conservative political groups for additional reviews during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status, a top IRS official said Friday.

Organizations were singled out because they included the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their applications for tax-exempt status, said Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups.

I’m sorry people this is positively Nixonian and if this was a GOP president rather than Barack Obama there the entire press corps would be up in arms and wouldn’t stop shouting till he had resigned.

Class action anyone?

Update: A thought to for the MSM, after today I don’t want to hear a single word about how paranoid people on the right are over Manchin/Toomey and guns ever again.

Update 2: Legal Insurrection further notes

Remember, the IRS is the Obamacare mandate enforcer. What level of confidence do you have as to fair enforcement, and that “low level” IRS employees will not misuse information gained in connection with assuring compliance with the health insurance requirements? (I’ve been warning about that since August 14, 2009, IRS The New Health Care Enforcer.)

With the exposure of the Benghazi deceit and the IRS political attacks, I have zero confidence that the Gang of 8 border enforcement or other supposed protections actually will be enforced.

Anyone who trusts these people are fools.

Update 3: Michelle Malkin,

Kudos to the Tea Party activists who first blew the whistle and to Mark Levin and the Landmark Legal Foundation, who pushed back against the Bully Brigade

and Allapundit

News of the harassment made it all the way up to Congress last spring — and yet only now, months after the election, are we finally seeing the IRS come clean. Go figure.

To this day, the left-wing Democratic water-carrying hacks known as Media Matters remain fully tax-exempt. Congressional hearings are now a fait accompli; what I want to know is who’s getting fired in the meantime. Obviously house will be cleaned at the Cincinnati branch. What about Lerner herself? Stand by for updates.

I wish I could say I was surprised.

Update 4:  Added the Hornblower quote for those who insist it’s just a low level thing.  Nobody is a bigger tyrant than someone who serves one.

Update 5:  Mitch McConnell is demanding the White House investigate, Bryan Preston comments:

There should be an investigation. The White House should under no circumstances conduct that investigation.

I agree.
